I have learned that friction can affect how a object moves. It can ether make it go faster or slower. Although the weight never changes friction gives the elution that an object is heavier or lighter.
We measured sliding friction by useing the spring scale to measure the friction force in newtons. You hook the scale to the hook on the block and then pull across surface.
Ummmm...well I didn't really learn any thing about controlled variables for I already know what you speak of was. I learned of such things in 5th grade.a controlled variable is a variable that chould be changed but is kept consistent through all triales and experiments .

When we charge it it recharges the battery witch means it is being positivly charged so that it is geting electricity.and when it is being drained it is being negatively chared to the point where other is fo more positively charged electrolytes .

they make a battery because in the solution the 2 metals react in differant ways. one (zinc) loses negitive electrodes and the other (copper) gains them when they are put into the copper sulfate solution . when that happens it creates electricty making the light bulb up

i think that the creek is doing fine.its not perfect but its not horrible either.
I learned what each of the jobs are and what the data means.like how it is important what temp. the creek is to know which salmon and other fish can survive.
I learned what ph stands for( positive hydrogen ) and that it measures the acidity in the creek.the average for p.h. is 6.31410mg/l . If you were wondering that means the creek is acidic ( A 7 is pure water (H2o) which means it has the perfect balance of acidity and base.)
Ammonias average this year is 2.828 which is extrem and probable mess up . Last years was 0.08 which is still bad but not terrible.The average for all years doing ammonia is 1.254mg/l. ammonia is smelly colorless gas. but what is sad is that if levels reach 0.1mg/l then the creek is polluted! dis is sad! *sniff* =( .
D.O.
it stands for dissolved oxygen. one thing i learned about D.O. is oxygen goes into the water by touching it (cool right!).this years average D.O. was 9.16 mpl (milligrams per liter) that is okay.
Turbidity
turbidity pretty much means how clear the water is. the averege is 35.2714285714 that is almost perfect so the fish are ok with it .tubidity is the difference between clear and dirty water.
nitrates
0.3 this is pretty good(yay) nitrates help soil. and when to much gets into the creek it can really speed up eurofication. witch is sad because it makes all the fishys die.
Flow Rate
1.3459 cubic meters per second. i dont know if that is good or not .flow rate is how fast the stream is going at one place in the creek.
Temperature
33.5 water 37 air
thats is good! different salmon have different temps to be the best health. without the right temp fish will die. oxygen can dissolve in colder water better. if it got to 60 degrees, it would die.in summer they go tho oceans for cooler water.

Ok that was fun anyway....
Yesterday we went to snow creek and planted trees,shrubs,and roses. I planted 1 rose 2 shrubs and 2 trees.we got to name some of the the plants so I named my rose Charlie and one of the shrub rooter .I also made 4 hole for which 3 of the plants were planted. It was a lot of fun and on the walk from our bus to the planting site I got to run over LOTS of puddles !!!! YAY=http://!!

Salmon eggs are very fragile so many things can threaten them at this state .for example: gravel erosion ,humans ,floods, ext.
Alvin are the second stage of the life cycle.they do not get food but they do feed of a feed sack for a few months.they are still very fragile and can not fend for themselves.
salmon are now on their third stage.at this stage they are getting their own food for their food sack has run out.they also travel in schools of other fry.
After being a fry they are now smolts .during this part of their life they mostly changing their body's to adapt to being able to living in the ocean.
(sorry it's sideways) Adult salmon will live in the ocean for 1-8 years And will stay there until fully matured.They will remain silver until returning home to spawn.
At this stage the salmon are only trying to survive till they have laid their eggs.once they have been laid they soon die leaving the eggs to fend for themselves .

water pollution is terible because it can lead sickness or death to humans and animals I hate water pollution just as much as every one else.Some of the sources of water pollution are when we are careless and let garbage or dangerous chemicals near or in water polluting it and oil spill from tankers or things like the gulf of mexico oil spill.
There are lots of consequences for water pollution like: polluted drinking water that can get us sick or the ocean being polluted sicking or killing hundreds of fish. There are ways to prevent water pollution like recycling, not littering,and keeping dangerous chemicals as far away from water as possible. water pollution is a terible teriblething Of course some water has already been polluted and we can't completely clean it without a time machine so here are some ways to help without one: you can use a industrial treatment which is what they do to turn sewage into drinking water ,the ozone wastewater treatment which is where they make ozone and use it to treat the water,and you can help by picking up garbage from or near water so it dose not continue to get polluted.if you are not able or do not want to help with polluted wateryou can help with the animals that have sufferd like cleaning them if they are covered in oil or are about to eat or be choked by garabge.please help us prevent , stop , and clean up water pollution.

i agree that it will rebuild its self because it built up to that size befor so it can do it again.It has already started to rebuild so it will one day look that way again but probly not in our life time.
