The Hunger games is a book by Suzanne Collins this books genre is a young adult book and little suspense in it, the book is about a city in Panem named district 12 where there holding there annual 75th hunger games in all the districts 1-12 where they pick a boy and a girl from the age of 12-18 in each district to fight to the death of each other and when one person is left standing they win the whole game and become a carrer for the next annual hunger games.
The characters in the story are Katniss Everdeen one of the tributes, Peeta Mellark another tribute. Effie Trinket a chaperone for the hunger games, Haymitch Abernathy one of the careers and Gale Hawthrone Katniss best friend. I have read the first and second book of the hunger games and I give each book 4 stars because I really liked the way Suzanne Collins put a lot of details into the story and not had rushed through the story like some other authors, as you may know The Hunger Games is big blockbuster movie with Jennifer Laurence, Liam Hensworth, Josh Hutcherson and had made around $120-$125 million dollars during their first show.

Greek Essay
In ancient Greece the people would wear crowns made of laurel leaves called laurel leaf crowns ,the leaves of Daphne and laurel wreaths in Ancient Greece.
The crown pictured here is made of pure gold shaped like laurel leavesand in Greece and Ancient Rome there was a tradition of stamping laurel wreath on coins. Most crowns were made of interlocking branches and laurel leaves in a shape of horseshoe shape.
In Greek mythology Apollo the sun god is represented wearing one of these crowns. The crown also represented winners of their Olympic games. They were awarded this crown to symbol their victory, pride, and honor.
One story in Greek mythologyis aboutApollo and Daphne. Apollo was shot with one of Cupid’s love arrows and he noticed the beautiful Daphne and fell in love with her. He chased her pleading and begging for her to be his. Daphne prayed to destroy her beauty because she didn’t want to be with Apollo. She was turned into a laurel tree. Apollo kissed and hugged the tree and said, “Thou shalt be my tree.”He wove the leaves and branches into a crown and wore the laurel leaf crown to symbolize his love for her.
The laurel wreath has since antiquity been regarded as a powerful symbol of victory not only have they been awarded in Olympics but also for the pan-Hellenic festival the pythian games. These games were sacred to Apollo. The roman empire was greedy for glory, when would come home Persia in triumph they would be pulled by a gold chariot by white horses wearing a laurel wreath, in Greece emperors did wear laurel wreaths on their while kings and queens wore crowns, these laurel wreaths were so popular back then that they would even been put on ancient roman architecture.
Where we can find the laurel wreaths today is anywhere! In Maryland (USA) they have a city called the city of laurel there are times when Olympic winners were awarded a laurel wreath you can also find them in weddings, peace emblems, coins and even funerals they are also found on Olympic medals and even on armed forces have badges of the laurel wreaths on them, the navy also adopted the sign of the laurel wreath to symbol power and success. The laurel leaf has also been shown in more and more gardens as a laurel bush or tree.

Happy New Years!!! Did you know that the tradition of making New Years resolution started on January 1st 153 b.c. and has followed ever since and that resolutions are promises that people make for example to get fit do better in school or to even get married.
My first New Years resolution is related to home to keep my room clean and to be nicer to brother and let him stay in our room too. My second resolution is to not talk to with my friends in math class and to not zone out in any of my other classes. My third resolution is to get a hobbie and be more social and not anti- social

Veterans Day

Veterans Day was first celebrated on November 11 1938. Veterans day honor the dead soldiers who fought in the wars and soldiers who are now fighting in the war, I never ever knew that there was a flower that represented veterans day. I believe the traits of a great soldier should have is loyalty, respect, fast, strong, justice, perseverance, a hero and discipline theses traits are important because when your in the army, navy, or marines you need to be fast you need be disciplined say yes sir or no sir they need to be strong and most of all is to be a hero, and to fight for our country.

EN-US;mso-bidi-language:AR-SA">My uncle and aunt was in the army and there experience was tough my uncle was more of the solider while my aunt didn’t do very much they slept on the floor, was being trained a lot and very disciplined. The ways we could show how much we appreciate what there doing for us is to write letters to different soldiers and show them how much we appreciate what there doing for us like saying thank you for serving country, we appreciate what your doing for our country and other sayings. The poem freedom isn’t free means me to like you cant buy freedom and that it isn’t free that you have to do things to get your freedom like going to school doing your work and doing your job as a student, a wife, husband, and most of all a soldier. There are different ways that kids can change the world by trying to do there best in school and work very hard or else if we don’t our state the United States of America wont have the best school district any more this is what kids need to do now to make America better for now and for our future.+
