We have three 6th grade Science classes and two 8th grade Science classes blogging here from the Pacific Northwest in Chimacum, WA! Sixth graders are learning a bit about Mt Saint Helens, environmental science through fresh water ecology, and physical science this year. Eighth graders are learning about life science this year. An atom is the smallest peice of element. An element is a basic substance tha cannot be simplified. A molecule has two or more atoms that are chemically joined together like H2,O2. A compound is a molecule that contains more than one element like H2O, C6H2O6.

Our drink is orange juice, it traveled 3,170 miles to Florida to Port Hadlock.

Our Bread is white bread, it traveled 456,7 miles to Montana to Spokane W.A. Our protien filling is chicken, vegetables are lettuce, fruits are apple and other filling is yogurt. The total miles this lunch traveled is 4805.9 miles and the elephants were 1.7, which elephants are carbon dioxide pounds that the truck that deliver the food put out.

A on sugar water did nothing, A on salt water did nothing. B on salt water became cloudy, b on sugar water did make more cloudy. C on saltwater became a little bigger and it bounce, C on sugar water became more bigger and it doesn't bounce. D on saltwater did not sprout, d on sugar water sprouted. E on salt water suppose to hatch sea monkeys but it didn't, E on sugar water doesnt hatch.

In 6.1 i learned that friction is that two things rub together.



In 6.2 I learned about weight, each time you add A block, measure the force it takes to pull this load at a steady speed across the surface.



In 6.3 I learned about the surface area and I learned about force.
