Sixth graders are learning a bit about Mt Saint Helens, environmental science through fresh water ecology, and physical science this year. Eighth graders are learning about life science this year. the force of friction

what I learned in 6.1 is that friction is when two things rub together. And different amounts of friction depens on the surface types.
what I learned in 6.2 is that the more bumps there is the more friction there is. I also learned about weight.
what I learned in 6.3 is that the different sides bearly effect the data. also it's because there is equal weight on the sides.
We measured sliding friction by measuring in newtons.
The variables were Surface types, distance, speed, slope and weight. We controlled them by keeping them the same.

you can put two nails into the ground and attach the rubber band to them and the cart and pull back then let go. the difference of mass and weight is Mass is a measurement of how much matter an object has. And weight is a measure of how strongly gravity pulls on gravity. The definition of force is moving or trying to move.

Thank you jack, Aliina and Danny for letting us plant trees it was a lot of fun. Me and Zach dug 28 holes. And I liked every thing but the walk because it was long.

It will rebuild because after mt.st.Helens big eruption on may 18 1980 and than a series of eruptions the dome was growing after the eruptions.
