Friction force

Article posted May 14, 2012 at 08:15 PM GMT • comment • Reads 835

It is a good thing we have friction because everthing would just slide every were. Most of the time when the surface area is bigger there is more friction.

6.1 we learned what tools we needed to measure friction

6.2 we got surfaces to slide a block across for 27 centimeters then made a graf and blog

6.3 we did friction test with blocks stack on each other

I think the creek is doing good. Because it has mostly good averages. But it also has some bad averages.

D.O.
Dissolved Oxygen.
D.O. average is 8.125 mg/L. which is good for are creek.

P.H.
Positive Hydrogen.
the average is 6. That is a good average for positive hydrogen for the Chimicum creek.

Turbidity
The average for turbidity is 44.7 NTU. Which is also good for the creek.

Nitrates
The average is .3 mg/L. This is also a good for are creek.

Ammonium
The average is 1.6 mg/L. Which is like the only bad average.

Flow Rate
The flow rate average is 1972.836884336 gallons per second. And that is good for are creek.

Temperature
The average is 37.13 Fahrenheit. Is also good for our creek.

Our score

Article posted November 3, 2011 at 08:58 PM GMT • comment • Reads 1824

We scored our creek a 21. The score is of how much pollution is in the creek. Yellow jacket creek has a score of 25. We got this score because we had bugs from the Chimicum creek and each one was an amount of points. The more points the better. then we added all the points and got 21.

water pollution

Article posted October 11, 2011 at 08:03 PM GMT • comment (2) • Reads 2012

The world is at risk Of water pollution read on to find out!

Disease-causing (pathogenic) microorganisms, like bacteria, viruses and protozoa can cause swimmers to get sick. There can be oil and also nuclear waste can be really bad. Also metals and solvents.

Microorganisms, like bacteria, viruses and protozoa metals and solvents, and even chemicals and natural wastes.

The sewage first goes through a primary phase. This is where some of the suspended, solid particles and inorganic material is removed by the use of filters. The secondary phase of the treatment involves the reduction of organic, this is done with the use of biological filters and processes that naturally degrade the organic wast The final stage of treatment is the tertiary phase; this stage must be done before the water can be reused. Almost all solid particles are removed from the water and chemical.

In our everyday lives, a great deal can be done to minimize pollution if we take care to recycle materials whose production creates pollution and if we act responsibly. Additionally, there are choices we make each day that also can affect the quantity of pollutants our actions will introduce into the environment.

The effects of water pollution are varied. They include poisonous drinking water, poisonous food animals and people who drink it get sick.

We need to stop littering into lakes, rivers and oceans. Also if you see trash on the ground pick it up and put it in a trash.

I think MT saint Helens will grow big. Then it will blow up again. Also it will get smaller when it blows up. Then it will grow then blow then get smaller again and keep doing the same thing again.
