I feel very similiar to how i felt when i first started the course. back in the beginning of the semster. i enjoyed the freedom and respect the course offered me. i missed a bit of class this year but was given the chance and help to catch up when i fell behind. the course compeletely met my expectations i was extremely scared of english when i first entered the course and when i left i feel extremely condifent in myself. i feel i met alot of the goals i set out for myself i strived after reviewing my first blog i said alot about putting in effort and putting my good foot forward. and this year i really felt i put in the effort to be succuessful in the course. My grammar has imporved and iam very proud of myself for that. as i before i felt it lacked alot so to see myself improve puts a huge smile on my face.

I feel effective planning is the start to a good essay. a essay should be well planned and very precise. if your ideas are scattered and unorgainzed your essay will reflect it. It is important to find your purpose and idea the context and really lay out a foundation to your essay. Orgainzing your ideas before hand also helps in the flow of your essay and makes it easier to really lay out a cleanly written essay as opposed to putting your ideas down in a rough draft and trying to orgazine it later.   i really used the orgaziner alot this year. it helped me effecitly plan my paragraphs and write a piece that flowed extremely cleanly. it helped me lay out a puropose and strive to achieve that purpose that i had written down.

In this assignment i aimed to be prepared. I took alot of time to make sure people we're able to my ideas very clearly by laying out a presenation that was easy to follow and i tried to speak as clear as possible. I was very happy with my techniques but i think i could have used a little more direction and a more defined purpose. i really do think the hardest part of the assignement was making a hard connection between my drawing and what i wanted to commucate.

For my major assignments I really felt I was struggling with my structure in wording and organizing my ideas effectively.  I have been practicing by doing my blog entry and trying to expand on them and really work on my grammar. I recently outside class have been thinking about the use of language and how it affects me. I have changed my language in a lot of ways lately to really help commucate  my message . My plan for success is to make a proper plan and stick to the plan I make and by using the planning tools I have learnt from previous classes.

For this blog I decided to write about what we’re learning about. The use of language is one of the most important tools we have. Using our words to express ourselves I think is something that we all should know. It is also important I feel for breaking down information we hear or watch and really think about what tone or what bias the author of a piece may be trying to get across. I think that understanding language allows me to commutate with people differently and at times more effectively to get my point across. My language use has drastically changed. At times I find myself using different language that I normally would have not used and I think that’s helped me a lot to this point.

This is a lyric from the song “Yesterday” by Pennywise. It was a lyric that struck very deep this band lost a member in its early years. The lyric talks deeply about easier times or times of youth. I can relate to wanting to be in a certain time of youth but it does have a certain tone to it. the context in this case refers heavily to the younger band and its early form of partying not carrying and just enjoying there time together

I think if the internet we're to vanish tommorrow would be one of the biggest epidemics of mankind. Our current generation is so entangled into the weave of the internet that i feel that so many people would not be able to handle or deal with the fact that they are not in constant connection with the world around them. In todays world we are literally one button press away from calling or sending a message to anyone in the world. Imagine if tommorrow you could not make plans with your buddy living across town. We are so connected as people in todays world that i belive we are uncapable of being seprated from each other from that bond. When is the last time you've made plans with a friend on the phone. I rarely ever do. its all by text or by web. Imagine a boy and girl in two different countries using skype(web based phone chat) or using facebook to mesasge each other for free. Would this couple still maintain a active relationship with each other. Its shocking that the internet shapes our news and our media but for a good. In most cases today twitter is used to break news. Rioters in England we're using bbm to track we're the police we're. its shocking but its today world! a connected global world.

I feel evaluating sources is very important. it is something that we should all do everytime we read a text  regardless if its for a research essay or assignment. In today's world of internet blogs and postings that can be made it seems like in mintunes as opposed to the past where something that was published would go through numerous people and editors before it was read or even thought about being printed on paper. Its important to judge your source and really dig into it. We can't just belive a source is true because someone wrote it. we must break it down and really think. what is this author getting across. does the author use bias? is his view not broad but narrowly focused. In todays world it seems if its posted on the internet we all belive its a legitmete resource. when it truth its nothing but a authors opinpon and lets be honest some views are horribly one sided. Lets say i used a example. If i read a world war two book. and i read it from a American perpestive would it be different if i read it the book from a german view. its very interesting to consider that. to view something from someones elses view.

a situation where i use alot of critical thinking would be work. Alot of times i'm required to decsions on orgainzation as well as work flow and time management. alot of times i have to chose how i will spend my day. do i want to do inventory or do i need to clean this or that. my day is always made of the choices. things need to get done but alot of the times i have to think which is the most important and what is appropriate time to do that task.

i think it is extremely important to learn and practice this in class. it helps us make better choices in our real lifes. thinking about what we do. thinking about how we do it. taking the apporiate steps to make sure that the task is being comepeleted properly

For my final text I chose to write about the Northern Snakeheads. I chose to write about that article because I like to fish on the weekends and it seemed very close to home. I changed the variable so my audience was much younger. I chose to do a short story about the fish making it  very easy to read with language that would be easy to be interpreted by a youngster. The language used very short words in the sense that a young child could understand the story and make sense of it. I included a moral and I wanted to send a message with my story. Don’t introduced foreign animals to our ecosystem or it could be destroyed.
