Take a good look at what’s on your plate. Is it healthy? If it isn’t, than this essay is for you. Thirty three percent of American kids are obese, so be careful of what you eat.
One quarter of your plate should be whole grains. You should have enough to cover up a Jason Derulo CD. (Don’t actually cover the CD up with your food.) Another quarter of your plate should be protein. You should have enough protein to cover up a box of eight crayons. Veggies and fruits should be the other half. They should cover up a yo-yo and a base ball. Your drink should be milk or water (.you should drink eight ounces of water a day.) instead of a sugary drink, like a soda, or a slushie. Only have those sometimes.
When you eat out, try not to super-size. Also, eat healthy things like grilled chicken instead of deep-fried.eat the original food, like apples instead of applesauce, because it’s healthier for you. Another good thing to do when eating out is to order garden burgers and veggie pizza. They have vegetables in them, and they’re good! A normal restaurant meal has 1360 calories, so eat healthy meals and don’t eat out too much.
You can burn calories by exercising. Kids should exercise at least 1 hour, or 60 minutes, a day.1 reason kids get obesity is from sitting around too much, doing nothing or watching TV. Try to limit yourself to two hours or less screen time a day.
CONCLUSION: EAT YOUR VEGETABLES, DON’T DRINK TOO MUCH POP OR EAT TOO MUCH CANDY, AND GET SOME EXERSISE.

Forestry Field Day

A few days ago, we went on a field trip to Hartley nature center. We learned about tree id. We split into groups and observed a tree.
Next, we learned about tree cutting. This guy named bob had a big machine that cut wood. It lifted logs onto it, and then ran a blade through it. It was really loud He also had an axe called a picaroon.
Than we went to a station where we learned about how to tell a trees age, and what animals harm trees. Some animals were porcupines, sapsuckers and beavers.
Another station we went to, we learned about dirt. We put mud in one bottle of water, and sand in another bottle of water. Then we shook them both up. The clay got all mixed up and was turbid, but the sand all stayed on the bottom.
Also there was a station where we learned about animals in Duluth. The woman teaching it had beaver fur, fox fur, and fisher fur. She also had their skulls, and even a moose antler!
Last, we learned about forest fires. We got to squirt water with an old-fashioned fire hose. The guy running it showed us tools fire fighters use and what they ware. He said that some forest fires help the forest by cleaning it out. Forestry Field Day was awesome!

Meet jackson. (add theme music) He is on the Chester Park Lancers soccer team. The team’s best games are piedmont, 12-1, and woodland, 8-0. Jackson’s best season is 2011. But his favorite sport is basketball. He is joining DAYBA (duluth area youth basketball association) for the first time this year. He also likes the NBA, or National Basketball Association. His favorite team is the Miami Heat. His favorite players are Lebron James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh. They are known as Miami Heat’s “big 3”. Epic players are Rajon Rondo, from the Boston Celtics, and André Igoudala, from the Philadelphia 76ers.
After games he likes to eat. He has many favorite foods, like bacon, tacos, and pizza. Let’s go to bacon. Bacon is his all- time favorite food. He likes it on anything, in a bowl, or in bacon bitz style. He also likes it in tacos. Let’s go to them now. His dad makes the best taco meat ever! It is awesome! Jackson also likes breakfast tacos. Big ones. With eggs, bacon, and sausage. Speaking of sausage, it’s really good on pizza. Have you ever had pizza? You should. It’s really good; especially the Sammy’s all-meat. It has pepperoni, bacon bitz, canadian bacon, sausage, and salami. It’s the best. But so are jalapeños. (pause.) Anyway, you can’t have a meal without a beverage, right? Here are some of Jackson’s suggestions. Soda. The best sodas are Coca Cola, Dr. Pepper, root beer, Mountain Dew, and ginger ale. Gatorade is also good, especially for sports. It’s tasty, and it gives you all those nutrients you lose from sweating. Some good flavors are fruit punch, glacier freeze, and lemon-lime. Meals are always good with a dessert, so eat chocolate! Jackson likes really bitter dark chocolate, and Hershey’s. (Hershey’s makes a really good “cookies and cream” bar.)
That’s all for food, let’s move on to music. (theme music) Jackson likes Dubstep. When he went to camp olson, his cabin hosted Dubstep parties in the camps dining hall. His favorite Dubstep singer is Skrillex, Skrillex’s biggest hits are Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites, and Kill Everybody. Jackson also likes rap. His favorite artist is B.O.B., who sings Airplanes, Magic, and a lot more. And Pitbull is awesome as well. His biggest hit is Give Me Everything, Feat. Ne-yo and Afrojack. Pop is epic as well. Do you like Jason Derulo? Well, Jackson likes Jason Derulo. Jds biggest hits are Watchya Say, In My Head, and Ridin Solo. Bruno Mars is also pretty epic. He sings the Lazy Song. It’s a great song about him being lazy.
