Sleeping not So Beautiful part 10
Camilla froze in the middle of straightening my hair. She stared at me. When the bathroom started to smell of singed hair, she brought the iron away and scolded me.
“Now look what you’ve done Alia. You can’t go and meet your Prince Charming with burned hair! Zachery won’t accept that.”
When she said Zachery wouldn’t accept it, I knew she really knew that Zachery’s father would not accept it. Camilla turned her back to me and busied herself with her make-up bag. Then she turned to me and hugged me.
“I’ve tried so hard to make everything work out well for you. I’ve bought you everything you wanted, given you an above average home and feed you the only the best food. Can you do me just one favor?”
I nodded and she finished what she called ‘making me a different person’. All that she did was put make-up on me, but when I turned to the mirror I didn’t see the Alia I was used to. I saw and over-dressed version of myself. An over-dressed version of myself with an anxious Camilla standing over me. I was a little afraid of myself, but Camilla seemed happy with my job and whisked me out of the room.
When Zachery saw me I tried to give him an encouraging face, but I don’t think it went over well. However his father was very pleased.
“Now let’s start.” He said. I could tell Camilla was bubbling with excitement, but she didn’t show it.
Camilla called a servant and the maid brought a silk sheet. What was that for? Then Camilla told me to get into bed. I looked at her funny when she said that. Then I realized he was serious. I climbed into bed. Zachery snickered.
“Now install the last apps boy,” Zachery’s father said. He stopped snickering. He did as his father told him.
Suddenly I felt very drowsy. Then everything went black.
Look for part 11!
