Sleeping Not So Beautiful part 7 I played to get away from everything, and soon forgot about my worries. But when my phone conked out, I knew there was no escape from the world below my bedroom. I walked down the stairs, prepared for the blow from Camilla. I knew she would be disappointed (she never got mad) that I had run off without thanking her for deciding on my future for me.
But when I walked downstairs, to my surprise I saw this guy drinking tea with Camilla. He seemed be listening intently, gobbling up every word she said. He seemed to be as involved with his son’s future as Camilla was with mine.
When Camilla saw me, I was hoping she wouldn’t tell me this was the boy’s father who would save me from certain fate, but I had no such luck.
“This is Zachery’s father. Zachery was at a science fair today and couldn’t make it. His father came instead.” When I heard that news my first thought was that Zachery was a stuck-up name. Then I thought how old he must be to be a father.
I wasn’t proud of my first thoughts at all. I really wanted to be grateful that his son was going to save me. I also thought it would be nice if Camilla and this guy could be joining in business. Then I realized I would be spending a lot more time with Zachery than I would like. Gosh, all this thinking made my brain hurt!
“Nice to meet you Alia,” the guy said, holding out his hand to me. Camilla must have told him about me. Knowing Camilla, I knew she would only tell good things about me to a stranger. I was glad she thought well of me.
I nodded. I realized my hair must knotted and super messy. I hoped I looked okay. I didn’t want to mess up my future with this guy’s son and Camilla’s business future with this guy. Camilla had my future all planned out. I shouldn’t mess with hers.
When the guy left, Camilla sighed. As she cleared away the dishes, (something I was sure the servants should have done. They always did in the few fairy tales I had read) Camilla sang a little song. I wish I could be as happy as her in my future. Camilla tries so hard for me; I guess I have to try harder for her. I could pretend to be happy with this Zachery. Camilla was going to be thinking about this guy for a while. I could plan, but only after my phone was charged. To my surprise, my phone was fully charged I sat down right there and started playing. I guess I was in the kitchen, because when I briefly looked up when I felt air moving around me. Someone was sweeping the kitchen, taking careful notice not to sweep around me. I quickly got up apologized with a small nod and rushed out. I found Camilla at the dining room table, asleep. Had I really been in the kitchen that long?

Look for part 8!
