I think that the ooman bing is Jack. I think this because he is a good mechanic which means that there is a possibility that he can destroy Uncle Bud's machine. He could also be the person and he might find a way to get the grown ups away from coming close to there death by being eaten by a monster. And Jack will maybe come up with a idea to get them of the ship and back home safely(if he can do that)
