Title: One Brave Thing a Day (01/08/12)
Description: I have a friend who is writing a book called "One Brave Thing a Day". It is an inspirational book that looks at life and its challenges and helps people take small, brave steps in order to reach their goals. Some brave things for her might be asking another writer for advice, submitting an article to a magazine, or talking to someone about her book. She is new to writing so all of these things take her out of her comfort zone just enough to be scary but not farther than she can trust for the day.

What is one big goal you have for this year?
What are some small, brave steps you could take to reach that goal?

Write a paragraph to answer the questions above.

1. Use part of the question to start your paragraph.
2. Write a meaty paragraph (4-6 sentences).
3. Make sure your steps are small so you can accomplish each one in one brave step.

One of my goals for this year is to get at least halfway through my book that I'm writing on this blog. I hope to get to Chapter 6.
Small steps I can take to achieve this goal are making sure that I post part of it every week or two, making sure that I correct all my spelling errors or mistakes, and asking for feedback on my posts. I usually don't like to change my writing because I like to think it's fine like it is, but I know that the people commenting have just as good ideas as my own, and that I should be grateful for their help. Still, it's kind of a push for me.

Heraser -- ~One Brave Thing a Day

If I think about goals, they are easier to accomplish doing one brave thing a day. One of my biggest goals is to be a good writer, which can draw people into just an excerpt of a meaty book. One brave thing I do a day is read other books, to get inspiration and to see new good vocabulary.

Sometimes another brave step that is easy to take is to look in a Dictionary. I find all sorts of great vocabulary that I have never sighted before.

Those are my small steps I try to do a day. I hope someday I can have some more experiences in writing. I also hope I can learn to write different styles, from suspense, to writing with dramatic feelings. One brave thing a day, the closer you reach your goal.
