Unit 5 preview 1. a stem and leaf plot is where you make a x and y chart and then you plug the numbers in the chart into the equation to try and solve for the missing variable. and a box and whisker is a number line and then above it there will be a line divided into 4 different section that shows the answer to what the question is asking.
.a scatter plot is a bunch of points plotted in a graph, line of best fit is a straight line drawn through the middle of the points that were plotted and if the line goes up from left to right it is posative and vise versa, and the equation is what you plug the variables in to to fine where you are going to plot the points.
.measure of central tendency is the mean median and mode of the data. which is the middle number the number that occurs most often and the smallest minus the largest number.
.probability is what the chances are of getting somthing out of somthing like if you have 4 marbles in a bag and 2 are red and 2 are blue you have a 2:4 chance of getting a blue one
.permutation is like rearanging a math problem so it will make it easier to solve, combinations is combinting like terms when solving to make the equation shorter and easier to solve, and probability is what the chances of you getting somthing you want out of how many things there are.
.odds is like what are the chances of you getting somthing you want if there are 10 things in a bag what are the odds of you getting somthing you want, probability is the same as i answered in the last 2 questions.
.predicting is what you predict will happen befor you even try solving the equation.
