I had a great time this spring break. I had a sleepover with my friend and stayed up really late! The next day we took a walk to Spatolas and got slices of pizza. Then we walked to Rite-Aid and got ice pops. Then we walked to the park. It was so much fun! I enjoyed easter too! I got lots of sweets! I had a great time.

My class read biographies. I read about Harriet Tubman. She was a great woman. Let me tell you about her.
Harriet Tubman is a biography book about a woman who freed the slaves. After reading this book I learned many new and interesting things. Harriet was born in the year 1820 in Bucktown, Maryland. No one knows the exact date of her birth. The most important thing to know about Harriet is that she received a silver medal for her bravery. This is important because Harriet fought in the Civil War and helped slaves escape. I also learned that at a very young age Harriet suffered a crushed skull and black-outs just so she could prevent a man from being whipped. Further more I learned that Harriet and the other slave helpers put quilts in the windows to show the slaves where they can go to be safe. Some meant that there were slave hunters around. The most amazing thing that I learned was that she bought 25 acres of land to help create a home for elderly African Americans. Finally Harriet Tubman died in 1913 from pneumonia. She lived to be 93.
I would recommend this book because it shows many facts that amaze you about her life. If you want to learn more about Harriet Tubman, a woman of courage, then this is the book for you!
If you have any cool biographies, please let me know by comenting!

Our class is reading biographies. I am reading mine on Harriet Tubman. I have not yet finished the book but so far I know that she was born as a slave in the year 1820 in Bucktown, Maryland. As a young teen Harriet would try to defend the other slaves when they were htreatened to be whipped, but by doing this suffered a crumpled skull and black-outs. She married John Tubman, a free African Aearican. She wanted to escape and start a new life in a new state not as a slave. She escaped one night alone, and in a few days got to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and got a job. She was very happy now. Thatss all I know so far about Harriet Tubman. I also have some questions about her. How did she die? Did her husband eventualy come to Philadelphia with her? And, how did she save the slaves? Who is your favorite biography based on?

Today's science class was one of the best science classes ever. But it is also one of the messiest. We were exploring solids, liquids, and gases. We used a syringe. The solid we experimented was flour. It got my science partner and I both covered in the dust. Both of our science things got cover as well. The liquid we experimented was water. It was hard to load the water onto the syringe. The water pored out into the cup but it also got on my clothes and books. The easiest thing to experiment was the gas. We used air. It was easy to load and it left no mess at all. the whole experiment was so much fun!

This year I had a very good time. I went with all my friends. Me and my friend were twin babies. We went to a scary house with a haunted theme. Only a few of my friends went in. I was one of them. The house was very scary but I got a munchkin and a small bag of prizes. I had a great time trick 'r' treating and I love all the candy I got.

Thoughts on homework

I think there should be homework. It helps you go over the work you did at school. You should do homework because it refills your mind with what you learned and the work you did that day. It helps you to be prepared for the things that you will learn the next day. You might have a test and need to study. But if there is no homework then you would be unprepared for the test and would not know the answers to the questions. That is why I believe that homework is important to students.

I think fourth grade is a good grade to be in. Fourth grade is more challenging then the smaller grades. It is harder to get the grades that you want. You have to work harder. We learn about electricity, circuits, repulsion, attraction, and static electricity in science. In math we learn about paralellagrams, polygons, parallel lines, lines, line segments, rays, concave polygons, and convex polygons. My favorite fourth grade book is Mrs.Frisby and the Rats of NIMF. In writing we learn about fiction and nonfiction writing. We get to have little first grade friends called BUDDIES! We do projects together. I love being mentors to the little kids! All I can say is fourth grade is a good grade to be in!
