My class went to D.P Todd and watched the band play their instruments. My favourite instrument was definitely the Alto Sax because it has a really nice sound and it doesn't look to hard too play. How do they play those songs? They look so hard! When they started playing it made me want to play band even more because they sounded amazing. I cant wait until band next year!

Hockey Is My Life

Hockey is my life, I play it, dream it, watch it and talk about it. My favourite part is going on tournaments, they are fun, exciting and hard to win but I always try my hardest. I am a defencemen that means it is my job to protect the goaltender and it is harder to score when you are on the blue line but I still manage to score sometimes. The forwards job is to score and have a hard fore check but it is harder to save the goaltender, sometimes they manage to back check and get the puck. Last but not least the goaltenders job is to save the puck, nothing more. Hockey is my life!!!

I went to Tabor Hill on March 15th. It was so fun, except for all of the ice! I took jumps, went down steep, bumpy and smooth hills. I skied with my brother Landon, his friend Linden, Nick, Derek and Luke when he was done his lessons. My favourite hill was Bear Ally or Track. But this time Track wasn't open so Bear Ally was my favourite. Luke and I went on the run called Old Grampa, man was that fun! Luke and I also went on Bear ally, Face and Easy Rider.

The Northern Gateway Pipelines are two twin pipelines that go from Alberta to B.C and from B.C to Alberta. They carry fuel, such as oil and natural gas. I am against the pipelines because it polutes the forests, waters and the oceans and it destroys habitats. Hundreds of animals from spirit bears to wolves will die if the pipes crack open! I realize the pipelines will provide employment for thousands of people but is it realy worth putting these animals at risk? In my eyes it is not! If the boat that is carrying the fuel tipped or crashed millions of fish and other sea animals will die. This is preventable if the pipelines doesn't happen. Look what logging has done to our forests, do we want to jeopardize them even more!!

If I Was...A Cheetah
If I were to be an animal for a day I would be a cheetah. I would be a cheetah because I like how fast they are and I just think they’re amazingly awesome. If I was a cheetah I wonder what I would feel, see, hear, smell and taste? What I would feel is the long grass in between my paws, the soft hair of my delicious prey and also I would feel the smooth breeze blowing through my hair. I would see the rhinos dispirit to find water, gazelles in the open grass, I would see the open meadows, trees and water, animals sprinting and playing in the open grass and vicious vultures on the tree tops looking right at me almost as so I am their prey! I would love hearing birds humming and singing and also grass waving back and forth. I would smell lots of wonderful things. These are three of them a dead gazelle far, far away, the wonderful smell of bark from the trees all over the place and I would smell the fresh breeze rushing through my hair. The two things I would love to taste the air as I am speeding through the long grass and the gazelles meat as I am having dinner. I wonder what it would be like to be the fastest animal on land? I would love being a cheetah but I am very happy being a human.

Last week on my three day diary I noticed that I needed to eat 3-4 dairy products, 2-3 meats and proteins, 5-9 fruits and vegetables and 6-11 grain products in one day. So far I have only ate 6 dairy products, 11 fruit and vegetable products and 13 grain products in three days. I know I need to eat more of every group, the way I am going to do that is to eat healthy snacks when I am hungry and tell my Mom to try and put more healthy snacks in my lunch. This will help with sports such as hockey, soccer, cross country running and snow boarding.

Dear Mrs. Sawatsky,
I would like to have an ice hockey program at Foothills Elementary school. This ice hockey program would be necessary because we could get a chance to do it with other grades and we can all stay fit . We could do the ice hockey program out on the tennis court in the winter after school. Mrs. Sawatsky, a survey of parents and students who are interested and other teachers would be involved. People and teachers that do not like hockey might be against this idea. However, students and staff would get a chance to play with people that they usually don’t get to play with.
P.S Two goalie sets and two hockey sticks come to $94 we could buy way more hockey equipment from PAC money in 1 year.
Sincerely,
C. K

I saw my awesome ipod touch
I went to Edmonton for a hockey tournament
I made an awesome banner in Mr. Schade's class
I tried out for the Northern Selects
I learned how to do whole numbers in math
I read Diary of a wimpy kid
I thought about how cool I am
I wondered how to be more cool
In 2012
I might make the Northern Selects
I will read more
I won't quit hockey
I want to play lacrosse
I don't want to play baseball
I think hockey is awesome
I am sure that Mr. Schade is the best teacher ever
I hope I make the Northern Selects

This is what I did over the Christmas holidays.
I snowboarded with my friends as we received a family pass to the local Hart Highlands Ski Hill for Christmas. I shopped with my Grandma for presents for my parents. On Boxing Day, my Dad and I shopped for a new TV for the downstairs.
I tried out for a 'spring hockey' team called the Northern Selects. I think I did well and we will find out in a couple of weeks whether or not I made the team.
For New Year's my family and I went to my Grandparents cabin at Fraser Lake and skated on the rink that the neighbors had made. We tobogganed and snowmobiled as well. We pulled a tube behind the four wheeler which was a really good time. It was a really fun to spend quality time with my family!!

I have learnt a few things on energy drinks in class. Four things I have learnt are that if you drink a energy drink such as rockstar, monster and redbull you will have an energy crash after a few hours. Anther thing is that if you have to many cans of it you can die. A can of it has abuot 150 grams of caffiene and lots of sugar! It hurts your heart because when you drink it your heart pumps so fast it can lead to a heart attack.

My favourite part of winter is Christmas. On Christmas morning I wake up at 6:00 a.m and watch the television until my Mom and Dad wake up. When my parents get up we call our Grandma and Grandpa to come over for a while. When they get to our house my Mom makes Christmas breakfast. It is called 'make a head christmas breakfast' it is amazing! After that comes the fun part. OPENING THE PRESENTS! I rip open my presents in an instant. Then we go to my grandparents house and open even more presents with my cousins. We have a HUGE dinner, it is awesome!

On Friday, Nov 25, 2011, Foothills Elemetary's grade five class went on a field trip to the swimming pool. On the walk there I walked with Jared and all we talked about is how much fun it was going to be at the pool. When we got there the first thing Jared, Blake and I did was jump in the pool and go in the river. Then my teacher found us and brought us over to the benches were my hole class was. Then the lifeguard came over and explained the rules. After that we saw another teacher throwing tennis balls so we joined in and caught some balls. Then my teacher came over and asked us if we wanted to diveboard it up. Then after that we just played hide and go seek. it was fun and that was my day at the pool with my class.

I have learned lots of very important facts and details in DARE this year.
Smoking is the number one cause of lung cancer, it causes yellow teeth and fingers and makes your clothes smelly!
Tobacco has more than 200 known poisons and more than 45,000 people die from smoking every year and that is just in Canada alone!!
Marijuana and inhalants effect every part of your body such as your brain, mouth and throat, lungs and your heart and liver.
Alcohol affects your brain and your heart and liver.
I have learned to not use alcohol, tobacco or other drugs because once you start using them it is difficult to stop and then they are used like a crutch!!
Some of the ways that I can avoid using them are to say 'NO', to use humor, to give a reason or fact about the drugs, to repeat refusal, give the 'cold shoulder', change the subject and to avoid the situation altogether.
I pledge to be courageous and not be a part of drugs or violence!!
Who needs an artificial product to enjoy life...not me!!

Galaxy Bushy
One day a girl named Vingercotle went to the mall. Vingercotle has blond hair, a big body, blue eyes and she is always wearing blue. She was walking and at the corner of her eye she saw that the subway shut down, right then she wished she lived on another planet. Then she went home sadly crying. When she got home she went right to bed in an instant. When she got up she saw that everything was bright red and green. Then she said " I wonder if I am dreaming" pinch, pinch, " ouch" ! She did not wake up, so then she went running around trying to find a way to get off the planet! Then she saw a sign it said Galaxy Bushy it was glowing blue. All of a sudden two fluffy aliens came out of the bush. Vingercotle didn't now what they were but they looked friendly. "She said come here" they came closer, but when they got there she thought the exact opposite of friendly. They had huge teeth, big claws, brown and black fur, huge scary red eyes and a huge mouth it was scary. As she was running for her life she saw something at the corner of her eye. It was a shooting star! She wished she live back on Earth, then she closed her eyes and opened them and she was on Mars! THE END

I would not do very well if I had to stay in a concentration camp. I would not be very calm an probably would talk a lot. I would be very scared to play the harmonica in front of commandant because if I messed up he might kill me or make my life even more miserable. I would hate staying in such a small room like that and being squashed by another hundred people. I would also be freezing to death and plus its winter and I would have to shovel outside with no shoes on my feet. I would hate being in a concentration camp.

Autumn
Autumn leaves falling to the ground
Unreal mountains of colours
Tiny leaves and big leaves
Up on the trees are brown squirrels
Misty air fills the sky’s
Nature everywhere
Leaves of all different colours
Eagles soaring in the sky
Amazing colours and shapes
Visions of beautiful sights
Echoes of wolves howling
Sounds of the breeze whistling

If I was a teacher for a day I would teach them all about monkeys and bananas. I would also do gym, art and computers. In gym we would do hockey on one side of the gym and freetime on the other side after we would head over to art. It would be awesome! In art we would do flags we would colour them and decorate them. It would be fun. In computers we would have freetime for the whole time. Oh and I almost forgot the rules the only rule is there are NO RULES!
