I think its so Jack can boost his macanic scills. I think this because he tried to talk Isadora out of making him fix the ship. It's a good thing Isadora didn't give up on trying to get Jack to fix the ship because if she gave up they would never get off the planet Hellebezia. My second reson is that if it wasn't for jack's scills with macanics they would never get out of the planet so it would make him beter at macanics. He said he has "A voice that speeks to him" about how to use the strange alien tools.
