Geomandatry; A Geometry Blog by Amanda

This blog is for Miss Jovanovich's algebra and geometry classes to share ideas, ask questions, and reflect on what skills and topics we are studying. If we are lucky, we might even get a chance to connect with other students studying the same stuff.

Area Formulas! Hi everyone! This week in geometry we have been working with many area formulas. Areas for circles, quadrilaterals, and many other polygons. There are so many different formulas to remember depending on the shape but I've been getting by just fine. I swear there's an area formula for everything. Semi circle area, full circle area, part of a circle area, quadrilateral area, square area. Name ANYTHING and there's probably a formula for that. My favorite is the area formula for a rectangle or square. Base times height. Why you ask? Because it simply is the easiest formula out there. Once you get over the intimidation factor for the amount of formulas it isn't too bad. That's what math is all about, isn't it? Well talk to you all next week!
