MacLean's Math

This blog is for Miss Jovanovich's algebra and geometry classes to share ideas, ask questions, and reflect on what skills and topics we are studying. If we are lucky, we might even get a chance to connect with other students studying the same stuff.

Area Formulas I already learned how to find the area of a triangle, a circle, a parallelogram, a rectangle, and a trapezoid, but it's still important to know how to find the areas. For a triangle it's base•height/2, for a circle it's πr2, for a parallelogram and rectangle it's base•height, and for a trapezoid it's base1+base2/2•height. We proved how to find the area of a trapezoid in class, and I had a hard time with that. I now know how to prove it.
