Last Friday, I attended the Western Maine Conference Student-Athlete Summit. This is an event is held so that athletes from different schools can come together and discuss the affairs of high school sports such as the role of captains, the influence of social networking sites, the influence of drugs, and coaching. A male and female is selected from each grade to represent their school and sport.
The day was long, and the bus ride boring, however, I enjoyed discussing my high school sport experiences and hearing others speak. It's nice to be in a roomful of people that share the same interests, and understand the various battles a team fights! I gained much from this, and I'd like to thanks my coaches and Athletic Director for this honor!
Unfortunately, this also means that I missed Geometry, among other classes. With only two school days this week, I'm scrambling to catch up. There's nothing I hate more than having to do make-up work on top of my regular assignments! Wish me luck with this, and have a happy Thanksgiving!
