Today it is 68ยบ outside! It is so warm and feels like spring, even though it is still March and we could get more snow. I can't believe it is so warm out and it is supposed to be really warm all week! This week we had NWEA testing, which is the standardized testing, on the computer, that we have to take. They are very boring and long. In geometry we talked about the special characteristics of the different types of quadrilaterals, like how a rectangle's opposite sides are parallel.

Another four day week!

This week at school we had another four day week! It was a four day week because Friday was a teacher in-service day! So the teachers had to go to school but we didn't! So on Friday I went skiing. It was a lot of fun and it might have been the last time I get to go skiing this year, because it has been so warm out and the snow is melting. This week in geometry we had a test. I think I did pretty well. There were a lot of multiple choice questions and two proofs on the test so it wasn't too bad. I had a couple of quizzes this week, so hopefully next week will be easier.

This week was the first week back from vacation. It was also a short week because we had a snow day on Thursday! This week in geometry we had a poster due. The poster was for one of the lines in a triangle. My line was an altitude, so I had to write the definition of the line and concurrent point, and state any cool facts. On Tuesday we have a test in Geometry. So hopefully I do well on this test.

Spirit Week!

Next week in school in spirit week! So the week should go by pretty quickly and be fun. Also then vacation starts and I am very excited for that. So I can sleep in!
In geometry we are learning about lines in triangles. Like mid segments, medians, altitudes, perpendicular bisectors, and angle bisectors. I enjoy these and understand them, so I kind of like this chapter, and we are learning coordinate proofs, which I like a lot more than the other proofs we have done.
That's all for now! Thanks

This week we were asked to go on the website scratch and look at the projects on their. We were supposed to find our favorite one and post it on here. This is the program that I thought was very cool http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/eRKSToCK/1927343. It is a game where you are this little guy and have to collect the red dots. I think it is a fun game to play because you have a purpose and you can die so you don't just keep going on. I also think it is cool that someone was able to make that with this computer program.

Midterm Week

This week I only have a four day week! Which is good but it is also going to be a very hard week because I have midterms. This is the first time I have every had midterms so I am a little nervous and have been studying a lot. Hopefully I will do good on all of my tests. The first test I have is geometry so I have been looking over all my old tests and notes. The geometry midterm is the test I am most worried about so hopefully I have studied enough and know the information. The problem that I have been studying most for is proofs. This is because I sometimes have trouble with proofs because I don't always know how to get from one step to another. Hopefully my studying pays off!

This week was our first week back from vacation. It was only a four day week so it went by pretty quickly. In geometry this week we had a quiz on triangles and using ASA and the other postulates like that. We use those to prove triangles congruent. We then learned other ways that we can prove things with triangles, like HL. We have midterms coming up soon so I will need to start studying for all of my tests. So I will have a busy week coming up.

First I would like to say Happy Holidays! I am now on my holiday vacation! I am glad we get over a week off to sleep in. Soon after our break we have midterms. So I will need to start thinking about studying for them. For geometry I am going to study by looking over all my tests and quizzes. I also probably will do the chapter tests in the book and on the internet. I will also look through all of the vocabulary that we will need to know.
For my other subjects I probably look through my work, tests, and quizzes. I will also use Quizlet to help me study.

My favorite Theorem

This week we were asked to share what our favorite postulate or theorem is. My favorite theorem is the vertical angles theorem. This is my favorite because it has been very helpful when doing our proofs. I also like it because it was one of the first theorems we learned so I have used it the most and I can easily remember it. I like the vertical angles theorem because you can always tell if a pair of angles are vertical angle or not. You can also use it to help in many different proofs, from proving two lines parallel to proving that two angles are equal. That is why the vertical angles theorem is my favorite.
This week has been very busy, because it is almost Christmas and everyone is trying to get everything done. I have a lot of tests coming up and a lot of things to do. Thankfully it is almost Christmas vacation!
