The best of my Roman Gladiator Journal The past few weeks of social studies we have been working on our Roman Gladiator Journals. In this entry I will be posting my favorite and best paragraphs of my journal.

Once I was done training with wooden swords, it was time for him to introduce me to all the real gladiator equipment. When I tried on all the equipment, I felt very overwhelmed. Domitius was training me to be a retarious therefore I had some of the most equipment out of all the eleven gladiator styles. I use a trident, which is very helpful when I need to stab someone in the side, a net to capture my opponent, a dagger, and a left arm shoulder guard. The retarious gladiators are confident in the fact that they only have one piece of actual armour. What they do have though are good weapons.

I wish so much to have my old Roman life back. I miss my childhood hometown house in Domus with marble walls, cream stone floors, and inviting heated furnace. I remember my mother loved spending time at the bathhouse and she owned a small shop that sold Roman desserts. My father got so excited to see the chariot races. My marriage was arranged by my father, and I did not approve of the girl he chose, although I didn’t have a choice. Although my life has not gone as planned, I have learned a lot and am blessed to have gone through what I have.
