Flip!

Article posted May 8, 2012 at 03:37 PM GMT • comment • Reads 616

Flip is the book I got for our Si-Fi novels. I wanted to read Flip because when Mrs. Berkman read the back and the first page was drawn to it. An exciting moment was when Billy the bully and Ryan a main chacter got in a fight. I would recomend this book to many people because it's well plotted and has great detail. If your looking for a great book read Flip!

Heat Sealing Machine!

Article posted April 23, 2012 at 05:12 PM GMT • comment • Reads 389

The heat sealing machine is useful like how my parents use it to press numbers onto a shirt. It's better to use this than to iron it on the shirt. Sebra is the company that made this helpful machine. The heat sealing machine has a handle and a square shaped thing to press the number or letters down. This is one of the most important machines in mine and my parents life. The picture of the heat sealing machine blow is small they are usually bigger.

Nonfiction!

Article posted March 20, 2012 at 03:39 PM GMT • comment • Reads 353

The topic in nonfiction I like the best is elephants. I am interested in elephants because they are cute and there is a lot to learn about these cute animals. I already know that sadly people cut their tusks off and use them as tools. This dangerous activity kills the elephant. Elephants are cute and fun animals so keep them safe!

My Thought On Poetry

Article posted February 20, 2012 at 06:06 PM GMT • comment • Reads 376

I enjoy reading End Rhyme poems and Onomatopoeia. Two of my favorite poets are Shel Silverstein  and Jack Prelutsky. I can easily find End Rhyme, Onomatopoeia, and Alliteration. One poetic device I would use is Onomatopoeia.  Creative poems to me would be about things you like and about your life.

        My Grandma's Like A Thermos

A thermos knows when to keep things hot

and when to keep things cold.

Even before you ask it,

it does what it is told.

It's kind of like a Grandma,

who knows exactly what to say,

even before I tell her I'm happy,

or that I'm having a mushy sort of day.

By James Proimos

I enjoy this poem because It's sweet and I can relate to it because my grandma is alway's trying to make me happy. It's a grat poem and I hope you decide to read it mor and more!

Why Are They Called S'mores?

Article posted January 23, 2012 at 03:39 PM GMT • comment • Reads 431

I'm doing Why Are They Called "S'mores"? Have you ever thought who invented s'mores? We don't know! They were first published in a Traming And Trailing Girl Scouts cooking book. Loretta Scott Crew was given credit for making the recipe because she made them by a campfire for her Girl Scouts. They are called s'more because it's short for "some s'mores". This named was invented by the Girl Scouts in 1971. You make s'mores by getting two graham crackers and chocolate bars and don't forget the marshmallows!

                                                                      Vocabulary

Marshmallow- A round squishy and white tasty food.

Gooey- Near to melting substance that if touched will stick.

Varieties- Very many of one kind.
