Lunchbox and the Aliens

Article posted May 14, 2012 at 09:14 PM GMT • comment • Reads 405

The book I read was Lunchbox and the Aliens.  I wanted to read this book because it looked funny and that the back of the book was interesting.  One interesting part in the book is when the Urplung Greebly's / Spaceship's power-grid exploded.  I would not reccomend this book to another reader becuase there are alot of stupid made up word's such as froonga and Rantis Gremulator.  Another reason is because the story is not very clear, like it dosen't make sense.

Nonfiction

Article posted March 26, 2012 at 07:33 PM GMT • comment • Reads 328

I like some nonfiction but my favorite topic in nonfiction is science-fiction.  I like science-fiction becuase it could be about 17 different things from aliens-to-robots. And the best part about it it contains fiction and nonfiction!  Science-Fiction is a genre that is dealing with stuff that could happen, but are pobably not really going to.  The modern day Science-Fiction was made during the Industrial Revolution, and will not be replaced by a new type soon.

My Wonderopolis report is on #521, Can You Speak in Code.  Some interesting things I learned were, for one the code during WWII in amost all radio trannsmissions.  (Radio Code Pt1) A is Alfa, B is Bravo, C is Charlie, D is Delta, E is Echo, F is Foxtrot, G is Golf, H is Hotel, I is India, J is Juliett, K is Kilo, L is Lima/London, M is Mike,  (Radio code Pt2) N is November, O is Oscar, P is Papa, Q is Quebec, R is Romeo, S is Sierra, T is Tango, U is Uniform, V is Victor, W is Whiskey, X is X-ray, Y is Yankee, and Z is Zulu.  Another interesting thing I learned is that in Indonesia Lima means Five, so they use London for L and Lima for F, also in the USA D is Dixie, David, or Data because of all the Delta Airline flights.  My three wonder words are communication, static, and treaty.

Treaty - An interpitation of peace

Communication - To talk, move, listen, and watch

Static -Still / unchanging

This could affect lots of different lives all around the world for pilots, and people that are in the USAA.  (United States of America Air Force.)

Thoughts on Poetry

Article posted February 20, 2012 at 05:40 PM GMT • comment • Reads 385

My thoughts on poetry, for one, are that Shel Silverstein ROCKS!  I like poems by Shel Silverstein because they are mostly silly, funny, and sometimes stupid, so stupid they just make you laugh.  My favorite anthology by Shel Silverstein is A Light in the Attic.  I enjoy poems about weird topic's that make me laugh.  I personaly think that I am amazing finding repitition, and end ryme.  If I had t write a poem I would usse repitition, end ryme, because I think a poem is sort of like a ministory without end ryme, and personification.  My creative poems would be as funny as I could get them because I like funny poems and I could probably write a funny poem too.

My FAVORITE Poem Ever!

Article posted February 7, 2012 at 04:34 PM GMT • comment • Reads 419

THE MEEHOO WITH AN EXACTLYWATT: By Shel Silverstein

Knock knck!

        Who's there?

Me!

        Me who?

That's right!

        What's right?

Meehoo!

        That's what I to know!

What's what you want to know?

        Me, WHO?

Yes, exactly!

        Exactly what?

Yes, I have an Exactlywatt on a chain!

        Exactly what on a chain?

Yes!

        Yes what?

No, Exactlywatt!

That's what I want to know!

I told you - Exactlywatt!

        Exactly WHAT?

Yes!

        Yes what?

Yes, it's with me!

        What's with you?

Exactlywatt - that's what's with me.

        Me who?

Yes!

        GO AWAY!

Knock knock...

This is my favorite poem because I love poems by Shel Silverstein.  This poem is also very funny sounding to me, how a kid and a meehoo get mixed up with each other because they spell things differently

An Ecuador Cristmas

Article posted January 2, 2012 at 07:56 PM GMT • comment • Reads 596

"Felive Navidad!"  That is how people in Ecuador say "Merry Christmas!"  Every ever green Tree (Christmas tree) in ecuadr have two decorations that are exactly alike... two DOLLS!  One doll holds Ecuadors flag, and the other holds a baby in a basket which represents the Chola Cuencan.  Some of the traditions Ecuadorians have is for Children to put there Christmas list's in there shoe and Papa Noel (Santa Claus) would read it and put some of the items in the shoe for the children.   A treat that some families would have on Christmas Day would be a special cookie made with maple syrup called Prstinos.  I think that having an Ecuadorian Christmas would STINK=http://=http://=http://=http://=http://=http://=http://=http://=http://=http://=http://!!!  Becuase I'm used to having a normal American Christmas.

George Washington: Spymaster Book Report

Article posted November 28, 2011 at 05:49 PM GMT • comment • Reads 857

My book is GW: Spymaster. I am really enjoying this book so far so I'm going to tell you a little about my book.  First of all, so far, this book is about George Washington's ring of spy ring commanders that command certain spy rings, such as the "Culper Ring".  My favorite character in the book is Nathan Hale because he was a great spy until he was tricked by a British commander and was hanged.  I thought that when George Washington told an old science professor to make two new chemicals it was a pretty smart idea because the British would not have the chemicals.

You might want to read this book if you would like to learn about the Revolutionary War and some of the Patriots' schemes to outwit the British Red Coats.

Applying My Smarts

Article posted November 16, 2011 at 09:17 PM GMT • comment • Reads 954

I am very Bodily-Kinesthetic and to prove that I could do a project that I use my hands alot, also if there was a project about sports... COUNT ME IN!  I think I did great on the "50 States Project" landform part becuase I loved that parrt because I got to use my hands to make alot details on it.  If there was a project about moving your body in phisicaly based activity I would start right away!  I also have Spatial intelligence so I think that I would teach an art class fine because I'm a great drawer, and I LOVE to use my hands to draw, and paint.  I like to build and construt things with a partner too.

I think that having a school like that would be a great for the kids at Voyager Acadamey to learn at because it lets them learn at their own pace.  Would you agree with me?  Also the one thing I really want to say is it wold be awesome to have something like smartville at Voyager Acadamey=http://=http://!!  If I was a student at Enota Elementry I would do the "Store" thing or the "Post Office".  I think Voyager should make something like smartville.  Do you?

Warriors: Moonrise

Article posted September 28, 2011 at 09:03 PM GMT • comment • Reads 1196

The book I am currently reading is Warriors: Moonrise, it is about 6 cats named Brambleclaw, Crowpaw, Squirrelpaw, Feathertail, Tawnypelt, and Stormfur. 4 of these cats were chosen by StarClan to fulfill the new prophecy, but on their way back to the forest they ran into the Tribe of Rushing Water who commanded Stormfur to try and kill Sharptooth. (A lion of death and misery.) Stormfur escaped but he came back and helped kill Sharptooth just as the second prophecy indicated, (the second prophecy is different than the new prophecy) but instead of killing Sharptooth his sister Feathertail did it but died trying.
