My Sci Fi book was The Green Futures of Tycho. The reason I wanted to read this book was because when Mrs. Berkman read the back of the book I wanted to know what would happen and all the details to the story. I think a interesting moment a new reader would want to hear is that when Tycho found the time traveling device his brothers and sister had cornered him but then he accidently time traveled and they were all confused including Tycho. Wheather or not I would recommend this book to someone depends on the person. If the person likes Sci Fi and specifically time traveling then yes I would recommend it.

A useful invention our lives today is an ActivBoard. It makes our lives easier today because if the teachers would like to show us something on the internet, instead of all crowding around the computer we can just look at the ActivBoard. ActivStudio is a software that is designed for teachers who use the ActivBoard. Nigel Pearce invented ActivStudio he also invented ActivPrimary. An ActivBoard looks like a big white board with a black frame.

My interest in nonfiction are animals, but more specificly dogs. I am interested in this topic because dogs are cute and I want to be a veternarian when I grow up, a domestic vet though. So basically one who only works with dogs, cats, birds and sometimes other pet animals. I am practicing to be a vet with my dogs, so I give them lots of baths and next time they need it I am going to try giving them medicine. That is my main or specific interest in

Wonderopolis Report pt. 2: Can Fortune Cookies Predict the Future?
I am going to do a report on can fortune cookies predict the future. I found out some ideas of where they came from, how many fortune cookies are made every year and if they really do predict the future. Here is what I read. I read that some people believe Makoto Hagiwara, a Japanese person from San Fransico invented the fortune cookies. They think he served the cookies in the late 1890s or early 1900s. Now, at the famous Japanese Tea Garden in Golden Gate Park they hand fortune cookies out as a thank you, because Makoto designed the Tea Garden. Others think that the cookie was invented in 1918 by a man named David Jung, a Chinese person in Los Angeles who founded the Hong Kong Noodle Company. David was worried about the homeless people on the street, so he passed fortune cookies out for free. Also, some of the Japanese people believe fortune cookies started in the 19th century in Kyoto, Japan. Tsujiura senbei or cracker-like cookies were popular in Kyoto. They were a bit different though, they were larger and darker, but don`t worry they still had a fortune in them. Nobody really knows the exact origin but forune cookies became very popular after World War II. Did you know that fortune cookies aren`t actually Chinese it just so happened that some Americans liked having fortune cookies after a Chinese meal. The worlds biggest fortune cookie maker is Wonton Food Inc. in Long Island City, New York. Over 60 million cookies are shipped every month, and over 3 billion cookies are made every year. I don`t know if you noticed but that is a lot of fortune cookies. Now here is the answer you all have been waiting for, no, fortune cookies can not predict the future and if you get a fortune that just happens to seem true then it was just a coincedence. This topic could relate to a possible career in a way because who knows, you could be working in the Wonton Food Inc. making fortune cookies someday. So there you have it, those are my interesting facts that I learned and read in this article.
Wonder Words

My thought on poetry

I think a lot of about poetry but specifically what I think is . . .
Some of my favorite authors that write poetry are Shel Silverstein and Dr. Seuss. An anthologie that I have liked is by Shel Silverstein and is called Where the Sidewalk Ends. I`m sure a lot of you have read Where the Sidewalk Ends and if you like Shel Silverstein you probably agree with me that it is a good book. I like all kinds of topics but if you wanted to impress me, write one about animals. I love animals, animals are my life. A poetic device that I am good at finding is end rhyme of course it might be the easiest to find but that`s what I am good at finding. If I wrote a poem I probably would use end rhyme the most out of all the poetic devices. I think creative poems are random thoughts that come to mind, something that nobody else would think of, something really crazy. If you think of something that nobody else would think of you then you are using your imagination and you are being creative.
That is what I think about poetry.

My favorite poem is called Fox in Socks by Dr. Seuss

Fox in Socks by Dr. Seuss
-------------------------
Very well, then, Mr. Knox, sir.
Let's have a little talk about tweetle beetles....
What do you know about tweetle beetles? Well...
When tweetle beetles fight,
it's called a tweetle beetle battle.
And when they battle in a puddle,
it's a tweetle beetle puddle battle.
AND when tweetle beetles battle with paddles in a puddle,
they call it a tweetle beetle puddle paddle battle.
AND...
When beetles battle beetles in a puddle paddle battle
and the beetle battle puddle is a puddle in a bottle...
...they call this a tweetle beetle bottle puddle paddle battle muddle.
AND...
When beetles fight these battles in a bottle with their paddles
and the bottle's on a poodle and the poodle's eating noodles...
...they call this a muddle puddle tweetle poodle beetle noodle
bottle paddle battle.
AND...
Now wait a minute, Mr. Socks Fox!
When a fox is in the bottle where the tweetle beetles battle
with their paddles in a puddle on a noodle-eating poodle,
THIS is what they call...
...a tweetle beetle noodle poodle bottled paddled
muddled duddled fuddled wuddled fox in socks, sir!
Fox in socks, our game is done, sir.
Thank you for a lot of fun, sir.

This is only part of Fox in Socks, but I have chosen this part of Fox in Socks because I think this is when it really gets hard to say fast. I have chosen Fox in Socks because I love that it is a tongue twister. And one of my favorite poem authors is Dr. Seuss.

Some germs actually are good for you but that doesn`t mean they`re all good for you. The four main types of germs are bacteria, viruses, fungi and protozoa. In the article Can Germs Be Good For You? They focused on bacteria. Your body contains over 100 trillion bacterial cells. You have ten times the number of bacterial cells than human cells. One of your bacterial cells is one-thousandth the size of one of your human cells. Sometimes some of your bacterial cells can cause you to get sick every once in a while. But most of your bacterial cells keep your body balanced and healthy though. The good bacteria lives in your intestines and they help make the best use of the nutrients you eat in your food. Then whats leftover that your body doesnt need, you put it into the toilet. Some researchers think that good bacteria may help prevent diabestes and asthma. The good bacteria help make the immune system function correctly and may even hold off cancer, even bacteria living on your skin helps prevent infections. Scientists also found out that medicines and vaccines are made from bacteria.
Wonder Words To know and use:
~ Germ - Germs are are like a virus that cause you to get sick
~ Bacteria - Bacteria is a type of virus
~ Vaccines - Vaccines are a type of medicine

The Bahamas celebrate a christmas called Junkanno on December 26th and January 1st. They also have a huge parade with hundreds of people dancing, music and really cool costumes. Participants are put into a group with up to 1000 people. Who come up with their own theme and decorations competing for prizes such as money. The costumes are an absolute secret and the groups usually spend a year getting the supplies. They celebrate Junkanno because Caribbean slaves were given several days off to spend Christmas with their families.

So far, Hope`s Crossing is about Hope`s house getting burnt down during war. But wait, it gets worse a man named Mr. Thomas (a british man) leaves her family out in the cold but kidnaps her. When they get to his house Elspeth, Mr. Thomas`s wife treats Hope as a servant. Elspeth kicks pinches and slaps Hope and Mother Thomas. Mother Thomas is Mr. Thomas`s mother. Luckily, even though they are enemys in the war Mother Thomas has a kind heart and helps Hope escape. They find a friend to help them get to New York by boat. Soon they find Mrs. Doyle`s hotel. But Mother Thomas catches the chicken pox and Mrs. Doyle kicks them out to Mrs. Willow`s place. Dr. Jordan says that Mrs. Willow will take care of them. Sadly that is as far as I could read.

About the Blogger
My name is Emily. I have two dogs. One is a shitzu named Zoey she is a four year old female. And the other is a Cairn Terrior named Max he is a two year old male. I also have one male betta fish. We are also going to get some chickens soon. The last and final animal I have is my little brother named Nolan he is a eight year old male. When I grow up I would like to be a domestic veternarian not a farm one. The reason why I want to be a DOMESTIC veternarian is becuase I love dogs. So hopefully I won`t have to deal with the cats a lot. Not that I don`t like cats it`s just that I have never had one before so I don`t know how to care of them. Also, when I grow up I`m gonna have two dogs, I`m not sure what kind yet, and two to three kids. If I have three I want two girls and one boy. If I have two kids I want one boy and one girl. I love the sport soccer and I also do tae kwon do, and teach these cute 6 year old kids. That is ME and what i am going to do when I grow up!
