Among The Hidden(:

Article posted May 21, 2012 at 10:12 PM GMT • comment • Reads 1499

My book was Among The Hidden. I wanted to read this book because when Mrs.Berkman read the back of it the book caught my attention when she said shadow children. A exciting moment in theb book is when Luke goes out of his property for the first time to go and see another Shadow Child named Jen. I would totally recommend this book to another reader because the book is filled with suspense. :)

oo I  like the title on this one! :)

MVP Inventions & Technology- Hair tie

Article posted April 27, 2012 at 01:16 PM GMT • comment • Reads 1719

The most important invention in my life is the hair tie. It makes my life better because when my hair is down or in my face i can just put it up. Also, over the last couple of years instead of using hair ties for your hair.. girls have beenwearing them as bracelets. The person who invented the hair tie is Mary Laswell Smith in the mid 1920's. Hair ties come in many different forms.. there is the extra stretchy ones (i have to use those or it will pop.) the tiny ones.. pink....blue purple all different colors!

Can you fish for sushi?

Article posted March 5, 2012 at 02:07 PM GMT • comment • Reads 1928

When people think of sushi they automatically think of raw fish. They think if they go into the ocean and get a fish that is sushi. WRONG!  The specific term for raw  fish is sashimi and its not the same thing as sushi. Sushi doesn't have to have fish at all! The key ingriedient to sushi is sticky rice and seaweed. They put the sticky rice onto the seaweed.  In the fourth century B.C. sushi beghan as a way to preserve raw fish. This preservation made its way to Japan.  The japanese word sushi was defined "sour" or "vinegary".                                                                                                                                                                                      3 wonder words:                                                                                                                                         I have a huge appetite    french fries.

Sushi is one of my favorite foods.

ingridient- something used to make it!

Thoughts on Poetry.

Article posted February 20, 2012 at 03:44 PM GMT • comment • Reads 2548

I have really enjoyed poetry.  Some poets I enjoy are Robert Weinstock, Shel Silverstein, Jack Pelutsky and Kenn Nesbitt. Topics of poems I enjoy are things about doing funny things in school, and what pets do to you.  Some devices I am good at finding are Rhyme, Repetition and Personification.  Anthologies i enjoy are Food Hates You to and If i was in charge the rules would be different.

My Favorite Poem

Article posted February 6, 2012 at 05:47 PM GMT • comment (2) • Reads 1922

Here is my favorite poem:

I like this poem because it’s funny and everyone knows you can’t get a U.F.O with real aliens in it. It’s just nonsense and I like non-sense. I like nonsense because I’m a random type of girl who builds forts in her closet.

Dear Santa, here's my Christmas list.
I hope you'll bring it all.
I've only asked for gifts my parents
can't find at the mall.

I'd like to have a UFO,
with aliens inside,
and maybe a Tyrannosaurus Rex
that I could ride.

A ninety-nine foot robot
is a present I could use.
I'll also need a time machine,
and rocket-powered shoes.

Please bring a gentle genie
who will grant my every wish,
and don't forget a wizard's wand,
and, yes, a talking fish.

Of course, I'll need a unicorn,
and won't you please provide
a dragon, and a castle
in the English countryside.

Of course, the weight of all these things
might cause your sleigh to crash.
If that's the case, dear Santa,
please feel free to just bring cash.
