The Black Panther Food webs are very unique because if one thing is changed it will have an effect on everything included in the web. The food web represents the delicate cycle of nature, if upset it will result in huge changes for all animals and plants in the habitat.

This essay will examine the Black Panthers food web and habitat and how it can change.

Black Panthers can adapt to living in a wide variety of habitats. The Black Panthers’ habitats include the rain forest, marshland,

woodland, swamps, deserts, and mountains.

The Black Panther is a consumer. Their food web includes meat, birds, monkeys, fish, rodents, deer, and antelope. Meat is their main source of nourishment, therefore, they are carnivores. They would be on the top of the food chain. The Black Panther is the predator and what it consumes is its prey. The Black Panther has a food web which consists of six parts. First the food web will start at the at the vegetation level, which is the producer. Then it will work its way up to the insects, which will then be consumed by birds. The birds will be consumed by animals such as foxes. The fox will be the prey of the deer. Lastly,at the top of the food chain will be the panther who consumes the deer.

The Black Panther does not live on Long Island any longer because the habitat has changed due to construction, population and expansion. All these factors pushed the black panthers habitat into extinction on Long Island.

Once the panther was gone, it’s prey would increase in population since it was no longer being hunted. This would effect the balance of the food web. For example, once the panther was gone, there would be another top predator in the food chain. They would be competing for both less available lower level prey and living space.

I don’t think it would have been possible for the black panther and humans to live in the same habitat. It would have been dangerous for both species. Also, human progress would have been hard to stop.

In conclusion you would think the Black Panther had it all being at the top of the food chain. Unfortunately, other factors beyond its control led to changes in his habitat.
