I am so happy! Would you like to know why? I’m happy because November is the month that cheerleading starts! I am a wrestling cheerleader. I absolutely love to cheer.
This year is the first year I’ve been on an official cheerleading squad. I had to try out in May last year and I made the squad! We just started practicing a few weeks ago and I am so glad I chose to be a wrestling cheerleader. We learned a bunch of cheers so far and we are working on our big floor dance. What we haven’t started is stunting. I really want to be a flyer, which is the person up in the air. I’ve cheered in a lot of camps and such, and I have realized that I love being the flyer. I think we are going to start flying soon but it’s still not soon enough for me!
Some people say that cheerleading is not a sport. I strongly disagree. Cheerleading is a tough thing to do. You have to be fit and flexible. If you are a base while stunting, you have to be strong. Well, I guess you also have to be strong when you’re a flyer because you have to hold your own weight. You also have to be brave because you are thrown up in the air and there is a huge chance that you could be seriously injured. If anyone ever tells you that cheerleading is not a sport, prove them wrong!
Cheerleading is the best sport in the world! I would absolutely recommend anyone to be a cheerleader.
