Tan, beach, flip-flops, Daisy Duke Shorts, tank tops, softball, dirt lines, sun highlights, and shooting stars. Do these words make anything come to your mind? Something comes to my mind when I hear those words…SUMMER!
Tan- the first initial sign of summer. This is the thing that indicates summer is coming because during softball season, at the end of the year, I get a tan from playing outside on the field. This is also a unique indicator of summer because I always have an un-even tan from my glove hand compared to my throwing hand.
Flip-flops- the second sign that summer is here. You don’t wear flip-flops when it’s cold because your toes will get cold, but during the summer you can paint your toenails cute, and also get flip-flop lines from your tan.
Daisy Duke Shorts and tank tops- clothes you wear during the summer because their cute, comfortable and summer appropriate.
Dirt lines- If you’re playing softball in the summer, you will get dirt lines from not only sliding in the field, but also from running because of all the dirt. Dirt lines indicate summer because it begins in the middle of softball season.
Sun highlights- when your hair gets lighter because the sun bleaches your hair which causes highlights.
Shooting stars- memories from late nights of summer. During summer you lay out in the yard, or on the roof with a friend, or boyfriend and look for shooting stars. This is both exciting and romantic at times. I love doing this because you can relax and have fun at the same time.

Is there anything that comes to your mind when you hear the word summer? Do you have any favorite memories from summer that would remind you of the past? If so… comment and let me know!

Dear Freshman,
You’ve made it through to finally becoming part of the senior high, but don’t think everything gets easier from here. You still have four years to go. You no longer have to participate in junior high sports, academics and social events. Now you get to participate in senior high field day, talent show and varsity sports. There is two key things you need to do to be a successful student in the 9th grade. You must keep up on your English blogs, and also stay on track with your health projects.
In order maintain a good grade for English in the 9th grade which is one of the easiest classes to pass, you MUST keep up on your English blogs. Blogs are probably the easiest things to do, but also one of the easiest things to get behind on. These blogs might seem completely pointless at the time, but it’s actually free points if you do everything correctly and on time. Blogs are about 50% of your English grade for the year, so make sure you do them correctly and on time and you’ll be set.
Another thing that you can do to pass the 9th grade is keep up on your health projects. Health class is even easier than English. Most students say from previous years that Mrs. Farr is mean, but honestly she’s one of the nicest, most organized teachers I have ever had. All projects she has you do help you so make sure you do all of them. Most of the time you are allowed to use your projects on your tests, but when you can’t it will affect your grade tremendously if you haven’t done it.
Freshmen, have you learned anything from my advice? Make sure you take it into consideration because it will really help you in the long run! Have tons of fun in 9th grade!
Sincerely,
Linseyyyyy.(:

We've got green shoes, yellow shoes, orange shoes and purple shoes. We've got spikes, flip-flops, high heels and boots. Out of all these what would your friends compare to best?

Sabrina: Jesus sandals because she’s very open with me and I can tell her anything, and know she won’t tell where as Jesus sandals your toes are very open but they’ll never fall out of your shoes.

Casey: Softball spikes because we do softball together, but also because spikes have points on the bottom of them and when Case has a point to make she gets it across no matter what. When someone wears spikes and get them dirty playing, you know they love the game and she loves softball!

Britty: flip-flips because she is crazy and flip flops make a girl go crazy in the summertime. Britty doesn’t take any crap and when you wear flip flops most of the time it means you’re in a hurt so you can just slip them on and off and she’s always in a rush.

Alexis: Cheerleading shoes because she came so far in cheerleading season. To begin with she was scared to death to fly, but by about halfway through the season she had come farther than anyone on the team had because in the dance we had the hardest stunt and we had mastered all of our fears and Lauren, Kayla and I had her back no matter what.

Emily: dance shoes because we got to dance together for one year and next year we’ll be able to dance together until we’re seniors. She also reminds me of dance shoes because she’s a phenomenal dancer.

Do you think that these descriptions fit my friends? Just like Prince Charming said in Cinderella… “If the shoe fits... wear it.”

woahhhhh, high school never ends.

“Lies, lies, lies” that’s all you hear in high school. Who cheated on who, who goes to what parties, who did what and got caught, who does drugs, who’s dating who, who’s ugly and who’s hot. It seems as if all our generation of teenagers does these days is judge people and put people down. People now a days make it seem like lying is a piece of cake when really it’s a big deal. You can’t just lie to people because when you do, sooner or later no one will have any trust in you at all. Telling the truth will get you much farther in life if you don’t lie. Some people lie to get out of situations they can’t handle, others lie because they can’t handle the truth, but most people lie because they can’t face that they’ve made a mistake.
In high school, all people do is judge others. It is a part of life to be judgmental, but in our school some people take it a little too far. If you don’t dress nicely, if you don’t match correctly or if you don’t have brand name clothing on someone will say something to someone else about what you’re wearing. They’ll say something to someone else but they won’t say it to you because all people do at our school is talk behind each other’s backs.
Another thing people do in high school is start rumors. Little do some people know rumors could ruin someone’s life. When you intentionally make up a lie about someone it’s very wrong, but when you know that it will affect their life you shouldn’t even consider doing it. One day they’ll learn that it’s wrong and it could really hurt someone.
In conclusion, high school stinks. You can never impress anyone, and nothing is ever good enough, but you can never give up and always believe in yourself.

gimmmmeee' the moneyyyy.

Do you think money is an important role in how people live? Do you think that people are treated differently depending on their classification in the world by money? Do upper class people get treated better than the lower class, or the poor?
Marxism criticizes texts and songs that judge and separate people because of money, but celebrate work that shows that all classes are equal. In the song, “Price Tag” by Jessie J she expresses that she believes that the world shouldn’t be judged by money.
Another reason, Marxists would celebrate this text because she is explaining why she thinks price shouldn’t be an effect on people and the world shouldn’t be separated by money. It states in the song, “It’s not about the money, money, money. We don’t need your money, money, money. We just wanna’ make the world dance, forget about the price tags.” She is saying money shouldn’t separate people in the world so you shouldn’t separate people by money amounts. Another quote from the song that Marxists would celebrate would be, “Why is everyone so obsessed? Money can’t buy us happiness.” She’s saying that you can’t buy happiness with money, so why is it the only thing people worry about.
In cocnlusion, Marxists would celebrate this text because it doesn’t judge others because of money.

readyyyyyy...okaayyy.

Have you ever tried cheerleading? Have you ever lifted someone up in the air and had to keep them in the air for a significant amount of time? If you haven’t…you should try it sometime. Some people say that cheerleading isn’t a sport, but in my opinion it is one of the hardest sports to master.
There are many different stunts you can do in cheerleading. A stunt is a term in cheerleading that involves lifting someone in the air in some possible way. The simplest form of stunt in my opinion is a half. A half involves two bases, a back and a flyer. The bases are the two people who support the girl in the air (the flyer). To get momentum to jump into the bases hands with her feet, the flyer must have a back supporting her weight on her bounces to give her more power to get into the air.
A half is when the bases are supporting their flyer located at the base of their necks and the flyer is fully standing up with her feet in their hands evenly. The back puts her hands on the flyers ankles to support some of her weight so the bases don’t have as much to support. Her weight is evenly distributed between the two bases and she is balanced so she can stay in the air steadily. To be able to do these mounts as a base, you must be strong and you must have strong arm muscles and the same with being a back, but when being a flyer, you must have both strong leg and arm muscles but mainly strong leg muscles because you must be supporting some of your own weight.
Another simple, yet difficult stunt is a full. The only difference between a half and a full is in a full, the bases fully extend their arms up into the air and the flyer is higher. The biggest importance in a full is for your bases to lock their arms so they don’t struggle holding the weight of their flyer. To get out of these two mounts, you push the flyers feet out to the side of you and catch her when she is falling.
Have you ever considered doing cheerleading or said that cheerleading isn’t a sport? Think again if you say this statement because it’s not true. Cheerleading takes hard work, determination, muscles and skill.
