Mousetrap Racer Final Write-Up
Have you ever made a mousetrap race car before? Well I have made one in science class we had a final design, some good things and some bad things, and what we think our grade should be. My group’s car was great, and went well.
The full and final race car was a amazing. The base was made from Pine, 15 ¾ in. by 3in. wide. There was a 2 ½ in. by 2in. wide piece cut out from the bottom center. There were 4 wheels, which were regular sized CD’s. We connected the wheels with CD wheel connectors, and a wooden rode. At first my group was going to use a tire as the bumper, but we wound up using a regular CD. In the middle of the car was a mousetrap. There was a wooden rod in the back, which was the axle. Connected to the mousetrap was a medal rod. There was fishing string connected to the medal rod and wrapped around the wooden axle. I am so glad that our car worked.
There are some good things about our car, and some bad things about our car. The best thing about are car was that it actually worked. The CD in the front helped it slide past the wall. The worst thing about is that it does not go that fast. If I had to make this car again, I would somehow make it go fast.
My group’s car was an accomplishment. I would give it a 95%. I would do this because our car went 2 out of 4 times. We placed our car in the wrong spot the first time, so that is why it did not make it past the finish line. The second time it was angled too much, therefore it did not make it through the finish line. Otherwise our car was a very successful car.
The car my group built worked very well. I was very pleased with the job we did. It was a very fun and challenging experience.
