Dear Freshmen,
Your freshmen year will probably not be what you are expecting it to be. It is very different from 7th and 8th grade. It is more challenging, you have to keep up with you school work because now everything is going on you permit record. You also get a lot of homework, but if you keep up you will do fine.
This is also an exciting year! You get many new privileges, for example you get to go to homecoming, play varsity sports, and you get more freedom in field day. Even though you get to go to dances in the younger grades, homecoming is much different. You don’t have to casually dress, you get to dress up. Also playing on varsity sports is a huge opportunity, more people come to watch you play. Your freshmen year is a very exciting part of your high school career.
Have fun! Enjoy your freshmen year(:
Sincerely,
Alexis

Sing Out The song “Love Story” by Taylor Swift is a good example of an allusion towards the tale of Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare. In “Love Story” it says many things that remind me of Romeo and Juliet, not just by using their names but by using things that are related to the novel. In “Love Story” is says “On the balcony of summer air”. This relates to Romeo and Juliet because Romeo climbs up a tree to see Juliet, who is hanging off her balcony. In “Love Story” it also says “So I sneak out to the garden to see you; we keep quiet ‘cause we’re dead if they knew”. This line relates to Romeo and Juliet really well. Since Juliet isn’t allowed to see Romeo because he is a Montague, she snuck out of the house onto the balcony to see him. Both are good examples of how the play “Romeo and Juliet” and the song “Love Story” by Taylor Swift are connected. Also in “Love Story” by Taylor Swift it says “Romeo save me, they try to tell me how to feel; this love is difficult, but it’s real”. In “Romeo and Juliet” by William Shakespeare, Juliet’s parents tell her that she is going to marry Paris, when she really is in love with Romeo. Romeo and Juliet get married without her parents knowing, in “Love Story” it says “And said, marry me Juliet you’ll never have to be alone I love you and that’s all I really know”. These quotes from “Love Story” are also related to “Romeo and Juliet”. The song “Love Story” by Taylor Swift can connect to the novel “Romeo and Juliet” by William Shakespeare. In “Love Story” it uses Romeo and Juliet as examples of the play. “Love Story” and “Romeo and Juliet” relate in many ways.

April Free write
Drip. Drip. That is the sound of rain falling off the roof or off the trees. For my April free write I am going to write about spring. When I hear people talk about spring I think of many different things. During spring time it rains a lot. In the morning there is dew on the ground, and fog in the air.
Spring is a very exciting time of the year. In the spring the flowers are blooming and the weather is getting warmer. There are also many different pretty colors. For example the trees and grass are green. The flowers are beginning to turn bright colors such as yellow, purple, pink, blue, orange, green, and red.
Also in the spring many baby animals are born. They are so little and cute. For example the rabbits, birds, and deer are born in the spring. Some mornings when you walk outside you can hear the baby birds chirping. You can also hear sticks in the woods cracking, from the rabbits and deer treating on them.
Once spring comes you know that summer is right around the corner. I am so excited for summer! In the summer I go down the shore. While I am down there I go to beach, and I go on the boardwalk. Spring is a relaxing, and exciting time of the year. What do you think of when you hear someone talk about spring?

March Free write
Click! Splash! Ribbit! For my March free write I am going to write about the dirt roads. The dirt roads are quite interesting. On the dirt roads there are many pot holes. When you hit a pot hole with your car it scrapes the bottom of it.
There are also ditches on the side of the road, some ditches have a water flow in them. If you go into a ditch with your car you will get stuck, and have to get help from someone especially if you have a smaller car.
Also on the dirt roads there are a lot of little rocks. When you are driving down the road, the rocks fly up and chip your car.
Even though dirt roads mess up your car they are very exciting. These dirt roads are home to many things. There are houses on the roads, and many creatures live on the roads. There are small and big animals. There are little animals such as frogs, squirrels, rabbits, and worms. There are also bigger animals for example deer, bear, and turkey. While you are driving down the dirt roads you can see all the different animals.
You can also see many pretty colors. In the fall all the leaves on the trees turn different colors and they fall off of the trees onto the road. In the fall you see red, orange, yellow, and brown. In the summer while driving down the dirt roads you see gorgeous bright colors in the summer. You see green, purple, pink, yellow, orange, blue, and red. When you drive down the dirt roads, you experience many different things for example colors, animals, and driving obstacles.

February Free Write
Have you ever had a crush on someone? February is the month of love. When people talk about February I think of Valentines Day which is on February 14, and this year is on a Tuesday. In February at my old school different grades did different things for Valentine’s Day. From kindergarten to second grade they made crafts. When they were in 3rd through 5th grade they sold lollipops with little messages on them. They sold them at lunch from the beginning of February until the day before. Then on Valentine’s Day they went around to the classrooms to give them to the people that sent then to others. It was so cute to see all the little kids with their lollipops and messages.
Valentine’s Day is a special day to show your love for someone. You can send them things like cards, candy and stuffed animals. It means more to someone when you make them gifts then when you buy them something. When you make people gifts you took the time out of your day to make it, rather than go to the store and buy something. Plus when you make people gifts it was your idea rather than someone else. For example a heart if you cut out a heart it may not be perfect but it still will look good. The person you give it to will appreciate it more.
Some people get candy for Valentine’s Day. Other people get gifts with a more special value such as jewelry. But if you get a gift for Valentine’s Day you should be happy and thankful, at least you got actually were thought of. Valentine’s Day is a day to show your love for someone more than you usually do.

December Free Write
The snow is falling, and the temperatures are dropping! What is one of the coldest months of the year? What does this month remind you of? The month of December reminds me of snow, and Christmas. I love the snow. When we have snow days my family, friends, and I all go sledding. Sledding is so much fun. I wish this year that we would have a white Christmas. The snow looks beautiful on the trees.
Christmas is a time for giving. Next year for Christmas I am going to have a Pollyanna. A Pollyanna is where each person brings one gift. At the end of the night you exchange gifts with everyone. I think it is really fun, and my friends do too! I love Christmas, and I hope you have a good one this year.
