This December many less fortunate families will not have enough food for a Christmas dinner. They may not have presents under the tree Christmas morning.
This year I went with some other key club members to a church in Montrose to help pass out bags of food and toys. While we were there we help deliver the bags to each family’s car. It was really cool to see how happy the parents were when they saw the bags of food and how the kids faces light up when they saw garbage bags full of toys. It felt really nice to be able to help out the less fortunate and have fun doing it. It was also nice to know that the people who came where going to have the nice Christmas they deserve.
After we had lunch at the church we went to McDonalds to get something sweet. We had a lot of fun there and I didn’t mind being out of school for a few hours. Since it was such a good experience I am planning on going back to help out next year.
I would definitely recommend joining the Key Club if you are interested in community service. This Christmas you should take a day out of your vacation and help someone in need. Though it may be just a small gesture it might change some ones Christmas. Hopefully you will take this into consideration. Merry Christmas!
