Bonnie -- A good relationship...TIPS! February Freewrite!

Things about every good relationship!;)

1.       Trust. It’s very hard to trust a guy with previous trust issues. Trust needs to flow both ways in a relationship, or you’re probably going to be too paranoid.

2.       A guy needs to not ignore you around his friends. Definitely a big problem.

3.       To smile, be happy, and make each other feel good.

4.       Don’t tell your boyfriend you love him the first week of dating.

5.       Don’t pick and pick at arguments.

6.       Try to take breaks with seeing each other, you’ll end up fighting or get sick of each other.

7.       Never let anyone, GIRL or GUY, break a relationship up.

8.       NEVER listen to what other people say about girlfriend/boyfriend.

9.       Don’t spoil your girlfriend, some go overboard.

10.   DON’T LIE.

11.   See if you and your boy/girl are even right for each other.

12.   Is it love? Or just some sticky summer fling?

13.   Long distance relationships never really work out.

14.   Don’t get a boyfriend/girlfriend just because your friend wants one.

15.   Do you hate it when your friends say you’re obsessed with your boyfriend/girlfriend? DON’T become obsessed.

16.   Ignoring girl/guy is not the right thing to do, work things out.

17.   Make sure your even ready to be together..

18.   NEVER EVER rush anything. You are most likely to be broken in pieces rushing a relationship, if you take things slow, trust me it makes a difference.

19.   If you’re boyfriend talks to other girls, trust is going to be one of the BIGGEST problems among your relationship.

20.   Just make each other happy

21.   Don’t tell someone you love them, even if they say it to you. It’s not bad to wait to say it.

22.   Even if you think you’re in love, people will most likely look at you with 2 heads.

23.   If you feel love, make it real. Don’t make love real if it’s not real in the first place.

24.   I’m in love. Say I am, say I’m not, and you can say whatever you want. Nothing of what you say will change my mind!

Abbey -- Rainy Days

Article posted May 26, 2011 at 05:57 PM GMT0 • comment • Reads 517

February Freewrite

Have you ever liked a rainy day? Or do you just normally like them? I like rainy days because they’re boring and it's wet outside. They give me a reason for being inside. Then I can text all I want. Also be even more bored. WOOH!
Rainy days are just a blast aren’t they? I actually enjoy the way the world looks when it rains it gets foggy, just plain pretty. Truly the real fun thing about rainy days are when I get to bug my mom. Then we just argue.(:
They are really calm also and relaxing, as if there’s nothing else making noise in the world. Just the rain drops on the pavement, roof or even your window. Or the bangs and booms from the thunder.
Have you ever sat there and thought about what is going on in the sky? I know I have. Like if angels are having a water balloon fight? Or if the clouds are sad and are crying? Or do you wonder if the thunder and lighting is just a simple bowling match between the angels in heaven? Or is the Devil and God fighting back and forth?
Do you like rainy days? Do you ever think about whats going on up in the sky? Maybe next time when it rains you will.

Logan A -- Seasons of the Year

February Free Write

Even though winter is my favorite season, there's something fun to do in each one. If you don't like the snow, you might like the rain. If you don't like the rain or the snow, you might like the warm and dry weather in the summer. If you don't really care about how the weather is, you might like the way fall looks when the leaves fall.
I love being able to go outside with my snowboard and build jumps on my hill to mess around on all day. The only reason I like the summer at all is because we have school off. I love the cold and hate the heat. Even though you have off in the summer, you might get a snow day every once in a while in the winter. I love waking up in the winter to find out there's a two hour delay or that school is canceled. Even if neither of these happen, I still like getting up and looking outside to see a lot of snow.
Even though winter is my favorite season, I also like spring. I like being able to see the green grass again. I also like how it starts to warm up so you can go outside without a coat or mabye even a sweatshirt. It's also nice because the rain will cool you off it it gets to warm. One of my favorite things about spring is that it's track season. Track is my favorite school sport. You have to be commited though because it involves a lot of training and work. Once you get past all of this it is a great feeling, though.
Summer is my second favorite season. There's many things going on in the summer. My favorite thing that happens in the beiginning of the summer is how school ends. It's a amazing feeling walking out of the front doors to get on your bus knowing you wont be back for a few more months. Summer is also when my family goes on vacation. We usually go to the Outer Banks in North Carolina were we meet a lot of new people that we have a great time with at the beach.
Even though fall is when school starts all over again, I still like it. Not only does it look really cool outside but it's cool and dry enough to ride my dirt bike. It's also a fun season because towards the end of it you know deer season is getting really close. Fall is also the time of the year were alot of paintball parties go on. Usually these parties are hosted by my friends.
Whether you like the heat or the cold or the dry or the wet, the chances are there is a season just right for you. Even if you aren't interested in how the season weather is, you can always find fun activities or sports to do during the seasons.

Have you ever seen the movie Matilda? Have you ever wanted to have special powers? I want to have special powers.

One of my favorite movies is Matilda. I like the movie because she can do things with her eyes and she is a really smart girl. Matilda was written by Roald Dahl. Matilda is played by Mara Wilson her mom is played by Rhea Perlman her dad is played by Danny DeVito.

Matilda uses her powers with her eyes a lot. Matilda also likes to read books finally her parents let her go to school. Matilda was very good in school she knew her times tables and when the teacher would shot out a big number she would know the problem without using a calculator. The principle is really mean to the kids and the kids don’t like her. Mrs. Honey, the teacher is very nice to the kids.

Matilda has telekinetic powers she can use her powers when her father yells at her or when her brother is mean to her. This is how she uses her powers she can make a bowl of cereal she can make the spoon feed herself. Likewise she can slam her door when her dad is yelling at her she uses her powers. Matilda and her teacher went to the principle; Miss. Trunchbull’s house when she left her car was acting up so she picked it up and turned it around. Then Miss. Trunchbull went back to her house, and Matilda and Mrs. Honey where in the house. Matilda used her powers to hide up under the table, Mrs. Honey went to the front door and Miss. Trunchbull got up and ran to the door. Then Matilda ran out from under the table and ran down to the basement with Mrs. Honey.

In conclusion Matilda is a funny movie everyone should see it! I wish I could have the mad telekinetic powers like Matilda does.

“James! Wait up!” Sonika yelled, realizing that the bird likely didn’t understand her. “Oh, we’ll never find Ollie at this rate…”

“James! Ja-ames~! Where did he get off to this time? And... who is that?!” He saw his bird flying at nearly top speed towards him being followed by a green-haired girl. Now why would Gumi be here? I thought I told her to leave me alone…

"Ollie, there you are!  I didn't think I'd ever find you.  You're good at hiding."  And so much more adorable in person, she thought.

"And here you are... whoever you are."  This obviously isn't Gumi... the voice is completely different, and this girl is much taller.  But who is she?

"Oh, I forgot to introduce myself!  I'm Sonika, and I would like to welcome you on behalf of the Zero-G Vocaloids!"

Oh no, not another one.  "Well miss Sonika, it's a pleasure to meet you, and, uhm, thank you for bringing back James," he said, trying to hide his disinterest and annoyance. Now how do I get rid of her?

Giving Me A Chance

Did you ever try something new that you never did before? This year I tried out for cheerleading and I made the squad. I almost did not make it. My coach said, “I am going to give you a chance to do this…but you better put effort into it.” Trying out for cheerleading was risky and scary. It was risky because I could have gotten cut and scary because the judges watch you during try outs.
Now the basketball team only has four games left. We have one Friday-home, Tuesday Feb. 7 away- Friday, Feb. 10-away, and Tuesday Feb 14-home. Coach Nicky is having a baby boy. She decided to take the squad somewhere after cheerleading is done. She wanted to go to Olive Garden then to the mall. She would hang out with the cheerleading squad next Wednesday for the end of the season get together. The whole basketball cheerleading squad is so excited to go to the mall and Olive Garden.
I want to be able to cheer for the boys’ basketball team again next year. The boys like for us to cheer for them because they tell us how nice we did and they like some of the cheers. I hope I make it for the cheerleading squad next year and I am so glad Nicky took a chance on me this year. You should take a chance and try out for something you want to do. You never know how good it could turn out.

Do you like playing basketball? Do you enjoy watching basketball? I got the privilege to go and watch the Penn State girls basketball team play. To me this opportunity was significant. We drove three hours to Penn State. We went to the Jordan center to watch the game.

As we were walking in I could feel myself getting even more excited. We walk into the stands, and we walk all the way down to the floor. We were only six rows up. We had amazing seats we got to sit with the players parents. It’s such a great honor that we got the seat we did. We got to sit right behind the players bench.

My favorite player is number thirty-three Maggie Lucas. The best part was that her dad sat right in front of us. I learned a lot when I went to see them. They taught me playing as a team is key. When everyone puts forth all effort you can have a chance of winning. Working together is how you win. The game was amazing and I would go again anytime. The best part is that my favorite team won.

Julia D -- The Feeling of Love

Article posted February 1, 2012 at 01:30 PM GMT0 • comment (4) • Reads 785

Love may be hard but down the line it may get better. You can have so many feelings about love but you may never know. I hope this poem helps you all.

Feeling of Love
By Julia Doyle
There’s a feeling you get
When you think
You’re in love
It’s mushy and gushy and
Makes you so frustrated
But in the end when you think
About it it’s not getting you
Mad it’s throwing
Out these signals
Saying you’re in love
Sometimes we don’t listen to them
We just play by what we
Think is right
Love can be over
Powering and make you
Think more then anything
Else it can hurt
And tear you down
But in the end it’s just
Building you
Up
It’s getting you ready
And making you
Strong it’s the feeling
Of love and it’s so over powering
We never know it

Dillin Has No Father

Have you ever have to go to court because your mom and dad are having some problems? They are going to split up. It is not good for anyone, and especially not good for the most innocent ones…babies and children. My sister and her ex-boyfriend went to court.
My sister had a little boy and now he is seven months old. He is trying to say, “Mommy,” and it’s so cute. He got his first three teeth. He doesn’t have a Daddy because his father hit my sister and she left him. They are going to court for it, and his dad wants a DNA a test done because someone called him and said Dillin was not his child and he believed them.
I feel really bad for Dillin because he doesn’t have a dad… and my sister wanted Dillin to have his mommy and daddy together so he wouldn’t have to have a life like me and my sister. I can’t believe that he wanted the test done. We all know that Jamie T. is Dillin’s father because Dillin looks like him. My sister feels really bad that Dillin doesn’t have a daddy. I love Dillin so much and I feel bad for the little guy. I hope that he will grow up and see who loves him so much.
The reasons why I feel bad for him is because I know how he will feel someday because my mom and dad are not together. I hope his mommy will find someone that loves him and her. I hope that my sister gets to keep Dillin, but his dad gets to see him on the weekends and that is it. I hate that he doesn’t have a father.
The reason why his dad and my sister are not together is because his dad cheated on my sister with a fifteen year old. I don’t know why he wanted to cheat on my sister because my sister gives him everything she didn’t have time to cheat on him. She loved him so much and now she doesn’t because of everything that happened. Dillin has not seen his dad in three months.
I hope that Dillin knows who loves him and who does not. Someday he will realize that his father doesn’t love him. If he did love him he would not cheat on my sister and would not have lost his son. I am happy that my sister is not with his father. I love Dillin so much and I am never leaving him. His father is not my favorite person in my life. I really don’t say that about many people. They go to court the January 31, 2012.
In the meantime, Dillin is learning to crawl and he is pulling himself up on furniture. It’s so cute and I am happy that he is and I love him so much and I can’t for him to walk and talk.

Do you rember the time you went hunting? Did you get anything on your first day? Did everthing go as plan?

The first time that I went hunting was four years ago and it was the first time that I shot a bear. I remember the day clearly. It was a very cold day and we were sitting in the woods at our friend’s house. It was in the morning and we had to get up and walk around so the blood would move though our bodies. Finally we decided to go back to the truck because walking around didn’t help get us warm. We had about a twenty minute walk back to the truck.

While walking to the truck we saw a big black bear walking around. My dad stopped me and showed me the bear. Then I waited till the bear to come out of the woods. I waited calmly for the bear to walk between two trees. Then I put my gun up and shot. Then the bear turned around and came my way, so I put another bullet in my chamber. The bear dropped twenty feet in front of me. The most fun was trying to drag out a bear about four hundered fifty pounds up a huge hill by myself because my dad was waiting for a deer to come out where he can get a shot on it. Then one minute later he got the deer to. We had to drag the deer about three miles till we could get the truck to the trail.

I Am so glad my dad got me into hunting I hope to do it forever. I will pass it down to my kids and hope they like it as much as I do.

DO you know anyone who's ever been a soldier? Ever been in war? My inspiration for “This day” was a family friend whose family went through so much but kept fighting. I will not name him or anyone in their family but the mother and father divorced and their son went to war and died in noble pursuit, and that is my inspiration.

This day.
She runs this day.
She runs away this day.
This day.
He fights this day.
He fights for himself this day.
This day.
Mother cry’s this day.
Mother cry’s for this day.
Mother cry’s for her love this day.
This day.
Father burns this day.
Father burns away this day.
Father burns away his sorrow this day.
Father buns away his sorrows for her this day.
This day.
They live this day.
They live for this day.
They live for everyone who can’t this day.
This day they are this day.

Life Is hard and some people have it different. But you must always enjoy it even when you feel like you should give up and walk away. You don’t know one can knock you down but yourself.

Life
By ashley Steele

Life it’s like magic
Like a world you just get lost in
Like you’re floating on a cloud
Life is hard and
Makes us feel like we want
To break but
In the end we can’t break
We have to go on
We have to push our self’s through
Everything we have to
Overcome the world
We take it step by step
From the time were
Young till the
Time were old
We take life
Almost like we take
Reading or writing it
Comes hard when you’re
Young but as you grow
It gets easy
Then it hits you again
With a smack
It get’s hard again
And then you ask why
But its life
You can’t question it
You just have to go
With it
You have to try
Cause life in the end
Is always worth
The effort

Weather to Complain About

Do you ever get tired of hearing people complain about the weather? You hear it on the news and in the hallways. People always complain about the weather. They always say it’s too hot, too cold, too wet or too dry. Here is my chance to disagree with all those people.
February is the month where it is suppose to be cold, but not too cold. So, if it is cold don’t complain! It’s Mother Nature! It’s supposed to be cold. Dress for the weather and get over it. Enjoy some winter activities or watching television if you’re a couch potato.
I am looking forward spring or summer because the weather is a lot better. The weather will get a lot better and the rain will make it enjoyable. The complainers will say it rains too much or it doesn’t rain enough. Just STOP!!! Just let it rain and don’t complain. The weather will be enjoyable this summer because it won’t be cold any more until night time.
Thanks for reading and do not complain about the weather or the rain. Simply enjoy being able to breathe and live in any kind of weather.

Along the way, they had run into some turtles. The turtles knew how to get there. They showed them a faster way, and took them down the Eastern Australian Current. His father finally made it to where Nemo was at.

His father had meat a bird that helped Nemo's father out. He came into the window where Nemo was at. He knocked everything off the table. Nemo had fell out of the little fish tank. Nemo rolled over to the toilet, and got flushed down back into the ocean.
Nemo finally meat up with his father, and his new friend Dory. They were so happy they found each other. They went back home and lived happily ever after.

Keeley C -- February Free Write-A Cynics Heaven Initial

Article posted February 8, 2012 at 02:49 PM GMT0 • comment • Reads 414

I come to you right now as an individual who is completely and utterly indifferent to Valentine’s Day. Yes, I know at most times I’m labeled a ‘cynic’ and am simply dismissed as one who does not know what they’re missing and therefore, I have an invalid opinion. However this ‘cynic’ is about to get on their high horse and tell you a thing or two about Valentine’s Day.

The fact of the matter is, there is way to much on this subject that I’d probably be the first person to overload this blog sight with too many characters (and if I had my way, more than likely generous amount of sarcastic profanities), so I’m just going to stick with the basics, or more specially the complete disregard people have for the history of the holiday. On Valentine’s Day, I was quite upset. For personal reasons and nothing to do with the day at all (I’d sooner walk into North Korea than become bitter and upset over something as petty as Valentine’s Day), however, someone gave me all look and asked what the matter was that made my facial expression so…forlorn. I could tell what they were thinking almost immediately and snapped a little ‘It has nothing to do with today if that’s what you’re referring to!’ and then I quickly added as an after thought ‘Valentine’s Day is nothing more than Hallmark holiday, and is completely void of it’s once genuinely romantic and original ‘forbidden romance’ history that ended in martyrdom and in return is being martyred for everything it’s worth!’ Sadly, much to my discontent, I could tell they didn’t believe me which made me all the more sour on that day. I felt like if I didn’t say that in passing, and were given a chance to explain my side without anther uncontrollable force in my life preventing any control in my emotions, I would have been able to prevent such a facial expression to ever be pitifully cast in my direction. Better late then never I suppose. If I would have had the time, I would have said something around the lines of this:

‘Many, many, many, years ago, there was once a priest named Valentine (later brought into sainthood long after his death) who lived in Rome. He lived under the rule of Claudius the Goth (or Claudius II), who, as legend has it, forbid any marriages in Rome throughout that time, for love, as we all have come to believe under sappy sitcoms and even stickier romance novels, the deadliest of all things. Besides, how could Claudius have big brave soldiers to protect is magnificent city if they’re turned soft by the ladies? Valentine though, a true fan of romance, wedded couples in secret. Once Claudius discovered he priest’s actions, he jailed him, and sentenced him to death. During his time in prison, he healed the jailers daughter of blindness (or so the story goes) and fell in love. On the eve of his execution, he sent her a note that read ‘From your Valentine’ (hence ‘be my Valentine?’). You know, right before he was beaten then beheaded in 270 on February fourteenth.

Now, though I’m indifferent to the holiday, I am an avid admirer of courage and audacity, so I applaud Saint Valentine for doing what he did, and for standing up (in secret) for something he believed in so passionately about, and that’s what annoys me so much about this holiday. I cannot possibly read off how many complaints and grammatically incorrect lamenting statuses I read on Facebook on the fourteenth there were so many. I could go on for hours how I feel about someone putting their life on hold and just sitting around feeling sorry for themselves just because they have no obligation to someone and are completely free of a chaining force that is a ‘significant other’, but I’m not going to get into that, though it is part of the reason why is distaste this holiday so. It promotes feelings like that, but sometimes I feel like some people who actually do have someone on Valentine’s Day are worse. Much worse. It seems lie all they care about is either topping their performance put on last year, or they just want to go so over the top just to show someone they ‘care’. In a few ways, that goes against the very base of what Saint Valentine believed in if you think about it.` He married people so they could have long (or maybe not so long, hygiene was terrible back then) happy lives together, not to show special love on one day. But since it’s a Hallmark Holiday specifically designed to make money for ironically heartless corporations, no one cares.

We all know that classic written scene from every mass produced romance movie in existence. The carefree stroll with your one special person at your arm, while the he buys the she some chocolates, pausing their walk, then they stroll some more along with the perfect music under some flowering trees. Maybe the screen with turned into gentle pastel colors while cliché lines are said, along with the perfect equally unoriginal response. Now, that’s all fine if you’re into that kind of stuff (I’m not personally), and it’s also fine if you want to show someone love like that everyday of the year. But to play into the hands of multimillion dollar companies and to disregard the meaning of something that was once truly beautiful (that ended in tragedy), then you’re just like every other person who ‘celebrates’ Valentine’s Day.

Blaise C -- Snowmobiling

Article posted January 20, 2012 at 03:23 PM GMT0 • comment (3) • Reads 869

The snow is falling one more inch to go. I get ready to go outside to go snowmobiling. I have waited all summer for this. You need a certain amount of snow, also you need the right gear and you need a snowmobile.
For one thing the right amount of snow means everything you need about six to seven inches. This is because it means for a better ride. The more snow you have you will sink in and it wont be rough. Also your machine will not heat up and break. The machine needs the snow to kick up on the motor to cool it.
Another thing is you need the right gear. There are many different types of gear. A helmet, snow pants, heavy jacket, and a pair of gloves and boots. Christopher C -- Nemo

February Free write: By Chris C and Jessica A

One day a while ago in a far off place called the Pacific Ocean swam a clownfish. This clownfish's name was Nemo. Nemo didn't like to listen to his father so one day Nemo decided to leave the reef. So that night while his father was still sleeping on the cave Nemo snuck out. He didn't know where he was going to go, but anywhere away from home sounded good.
After hours of endless swimming, Nemo was about to stop to take a break. Then out of nowhere came the Lochness Monster! Nemo was trying to swim away, but the beast was too fast. The monster took the small clownfish by his fin and picked him up to his face. Nemo was shaking, shivering, and was stunned like a squirrel in the headlights.
Nemo's is a very lucky fish however and right as the monster was about to finish him off a boat arrived out of nowhere. A person jumped into the ocean, and grabbed Nemo.
Nemo was finally safe, or so he thought. He was put in a plastic bag.
Days and days went by, and Nemo was never let out of the horrible bag. The next day however he was let out. He was let out into a small little glass box that he didn't know about.
Nemo looked out of the window and saw P Sherman 42 Wallaby Way Sydney.

February Freewrite!

Imagine going outside to make a snowman in the freezing cold. Then you would come back inside and make some hot chocolate. I would love to do that, but I can't. The reason why I can't do that is because we have NO snow! Since winter started we had it snow about three or four times. Then the snow would only stick to the ground for about a day or two. Then it would rain and the snow would melt. Or it was just warm and melted on its own.

The only bad thing about this years winter is that I didnt get to go ice-skating or go sled riding. Those are two of my favorite things to do in the winter.

I really shouldn't complain about this years winter because its been nice and warm. Compared to last years winter its a lot nicer! Some days you could go outside in a sweatshirt. Then sometimes it only gets a little bit colder and then you have to put on a light jacket. I also like this weather for skiing because if its warm enough you wont be freezing when you go skiing. All in all I love this years winter. For next Winter I hope its cold but a little bit warm too.
Have you liked this years Winter at all?

February free write
Now most people will probably be writing about how Valentine’s Day is about love and stuff, I’m not going to write about that. I’m going to write about how it doesn’t seem like anybody thinks about the people who can’t celebrate Valentine’s Day, mainly the men and women who are married to people in the Military. Like how those people won’t be able to see their loved ones on this holiday, or maybe they won’t ever be able to celebrate it again with them, because they’re dead.

How do you think those people feel when they’re out and about, and they see these young or even old couples being all romantic and stuff? Not that I have an actual problem with being romantic, I have a girlfriend. I just get tired of nobody thinking of all the people who can’t celebrate Valentine’s Day.

If it was me I’d have gotten tired of it years ago, and yelled at some of the young couples who are out on Valentine’s Day. As I said before, I’m not criticizing Valentine’s Day. I’m just trying to get the word out that maybe next time you’re hugging your girlfriend or wife. Remember those many people who can’t celebrate being with a loved one this Valentine’s Day, because it must hurt them dearly to see other people having fun. So take a moment to think about those lost this Valentine’s Day.

Haley S -- Facebook Faux Pas: February Free Write

Article posted February 1, 2012 at 02:59 PM GMT0 • comment (3) • Reads 586

Facebook Faux Pas
As Scarecrow from The Wizard of Oz once said, "Some people without brains do an awful lot of talking." Isn't that the truth. The matter about which I will be writing is Facebook. In fact, my last post to Facebook was that very quote. Of late, Facebook has been polluted with garbage that people feel necessary to post. It (along with other social networks and technology advancements) has caused a huge change in the average teen's vocabulary. Frankly, I am sick of it. Many people have grown extremely weary of the abundance of meaningless things people update to Facebook these days. Facebook is not a diary. Facebook is not a place to publicize your issues in hopes that you might feel better about yourself because of the number of fools who "like" your status. As a social network, Facebook's goal is to allow people to share and connect with other people and make friends. To tell you the truth, nobody cares if you're going to eat spaghetti, shower, then watch Jersey Shore. Nobody cares if you're spending the night at So-and-So's and it's gonna be soooooo muchhhhh funnnnn!
Which brings me to my next point. These days, people completely disregard basic grammar and spelling, especially on the internet. The use of slang in everyday conversation is rising rapidly. The vocabularies of people, particularly kids and teens, have regressed as technology has advanced. What if we someday get to a point where our language is so deluded that it can hardly be recognized?
Additionally, the language used on the internet these days it outrageous. Foul language should not be posted. Kids don't realize that people see your posts. Businesses and companies and maybe even colleges WILL check your Facebook for things you've posted. What if those questionable pictures you posted of that wild party last Friday night cost you your career? The illusion of privacy is just that: an illusion. The Scarecrow was very accurate. Please help rid the world of this, starting with such ridiculousness on Facebook. Don't post everything, and if you feel the need to, get a blog.

Do you like sports?Do you play sports?Do you know anyone that plays a sport? There are all diffrent kinds of sports. There is baseball, football, hockey and, basetball to name a few .

Baseball is great sport because alot of people play the sport . Also because you play it in the summer and spring time when it is warm . Another reason is because nine guys get to play at one time and you can play for like 6 months straight. You can also have have alot of fun if you pitch because the game is pretty much in your hands then.

Football is a fantastic sport because it is really physical .You also get a choice of playing offense or defense defense is better because you ge to tackle people. If you play offence you get more chances to score touchdowns also you usally get noticed more if you are the quarterback since he plays on the offensive side of the ball.

Hockey is also a great sport . Hockey is a really skilled and physical sport. You can get into fist fights with people . Also you have to play as team.

Basketball is also a really skilled sport . It is a high action sport . If your tall you can dunk and if your tall it really helps .

In conclusion, those are some examples of sports and what they are about.

John Deere

There are good tractors (John Deere) and there are those tractors that when you want to use them they won’t start (International).

John Deere is an awesome running tractor

But International barley cranks over

John Deere tractors sound like pure horse power when they start up

But, Internationals sound like my grandma snoring

John Deere is an awesome color of green

But International tractors are a horrible shade of red

But don’t forget that my three year old niece can pull back an International

And my dad has to hook three of his dump trucks to pull back a John Deere

John Deere are working in the fields

And  International would be sitting in the shed

Green tractors have all the power that a tractor could have

Red tractors will barley pull a hay bailer

John Deere tractors you would have to put tires on every year

But an international tractor you would have to put tires on every ten years…….

Because they will never run

These colors stand for the tractors performance…..

Red = dead (International)

Green = Go fast (John Deere)

That is why a John Deere tractor is better than an International tractor

Lauren V -- RUMORS and DRAMA!

Article posted January 24, 2012 at 03:16 PM GMT0 • comment (3) • Reads 610

February Freeewrite:

RUMORS, DRAMA, and more RUMORS! Is that what our school is all about? I don't think people should be going around and running their mouths all of the time about other people. It makes me so upset when my friends tell me that they heard somebody talking about me and making up rumors about me.
There are kids who get so upset that they cry or do something harmful to themselves. This should never happen to our school.
Some of the rumors that go around are horrible and stupid. It's mostly about boys/girls and who is going out with who. Sometimes it is about what people do at home and outside of school. Those are the rumors that make people hurt the most!
Drama....you could go on and on about that. Everyday there is always girls (usually) who are going around and creating drama between other girls. Even the closest of friends have drama though. I know that my best friend and I have drama ALL of the time, but we get over it and don't start a big problem.
There are girls/boys who will create so much drama that it turns into fights. Those fights are always over the most ridiculous things.
I don't believe our school should be going around and spreading rumors and drama about eachother. Don't you think our school should be drama free? I don't think it's ever going to be that way though. It's just a natural thing that goes on during our teenage years!

Article posted February 15, 2012 at 06:51 PM GMT0 • comment • Reads 453

Breaking news! Huge 300 pound lion with 26 razor sharp teeth and a big fluffy main have escaped from my room! She is a pain in the behind that sleeps on my head, tries to eat my food, and worst yet cuddles with me after I give her treats. Yes that’s right folks that big scary lion in my cat Ginger.

Ginger isn’t big or scary in reality she weighs three pounds is covered in orange fluffy fur the puffs at her neck and is as long as big as a loaf of bread. I received Ginger fro Christmas this year and I cant get enough of her! This “ferocious lion” runs into walls and chases laser pointers like the rest of the cats in the world but she is special to me. Most people might think “oh its just a cat” No! Ginger is not just a cat to me she is my best friend. I might sound a little loony saying that my cat is my best friend but she really is. Ginger listens to me go on for hours and hours about the strangest stuff and dosnt mind. How many humans can you find that will listen to you for hours on end without having to pay them $20 an hour.

You see ginger is my heater. Ginger tends to cuddle up on my neck after I give her treats and just lays there for hours while I pet her. Im a wimp when it comes to the cold and Ginger is just so warm I cant help but let her just lay on my neck and keep me warm. Have you ever laid in bed and didn’t want to get out because it was just so warm and comfortable? Well that’s what it is like for Ginger and I. I don’t know what it is about cats but they always seem to make you all warm and fuzzy inside even when its only 20 degrees outside. Ginger in so warm and fluffy she is like a miniature furnace (she even sounds like one sometimes when she purrs.)

Sleeping, snoring, talking in my sleep, more sleeping and then BOOM cat on my head! Ginger likes to sleep behind my head while in trying to sleep. I don’t know what it is about sleeping on a pillow but when we gets a chance she will. It is so cute when she does this! She looks like just one bug puff of orange fur snuggled up on my head. She might just be lazy or maybe just tired but I think she actually may find the top of my head comfy. Think really hard about it how many cats like to sleep on peoples pillows with them? You probably think this is weird and that im crazy but hey its cute.

Don’t be scared don’t be afraid ginger wont hurt you. The news isn’t really that “breaking” so go back to what you were doing but keep thinking about Tat little lion.

February is the month where the weather changes from really cold to warmer weather. Next, every four years there is a leap year, where the month of February gains an extra day. A person born on February 29 will have one birthday every four years.
February is the time where football season ends. The Superbowl happens in February, many people are anticipating both the Superbowl, and the end of Winter. Finally, February is a month where Phil the groundhog comes out to see the end of winter. February is a month with many things.

Do you know anything Kyler? Do you know his favorite activities? Kyler is one of my best friends and he gave me permission to write this. One of his best friends is Leonard Cordell. Kyler enjoys playing guitar and other instruments. Kyler tries to be good at skateboarding he can ride but that’s about it. Kyler had learned this summer his friend Cordell is coming this summer and he was in near tears because he could finally see him for the first time.
Enough about Cordell though this is Kyler. Kyler can be a good friend when he wants to be, but when we play black ops you never want to meet him lol. When we play black ops kyler is like a whole other person and he rages very badly at people. He use to have an afro but for some odd reason he shaved it. People said with his curly hair that he looked like R.J Burger only with smaller glasses and I thought so to.
Kyler can be very funny, he also laughs very easily. If you can say a good enough joke he can go on for hours and it’s hilarious. Kyler is very into scream music. Two of his favorite bands are I Set my Friends on Fire and Amyst. He also likes to practice screaming. He is very good at inward screeching and growling but he still needs practice with outward.
When he isn’t practicing his scream music, or listening to it he’s listening to Atmosphere or Mac Miller. Kyler loves watching all sports especially football. Kyler’s favorite football team is the Packer’s. He likes to watch the super bowl sometimes but he likes to party even more. Sometimes I invite people for party’s but it’s not a party without Kyler.
That is the sort of exciting story on Kyler DeGrote and I hope you to can meet a friend like him.

The greatest achievement for any human being is to love god, family, and friends, but most of all love yourself
~unknown

There was this girl who was so sweet.
Who people thought should be beat.
Not physically but mentally broken down inside.
Now her mind and the insults started to collide.
Day after day it started to get to her she couldn’t speak, cause of the rumors and taunts that made her weak.

She was bound to face self defeat.
As night fell she looked at herself.
Then she put her hands together and preyed upon herself.

She didn’t think god loved her.
She didn’t think that anyone loved her.
She wanted to show the school who was boss.
She he knew were her father’s gun was and that it was at an expensive cost.
If she got in trouble it would be a terrible loss.

The taunts and insults were eating at her.
She could hear the devils voice egging her on.
She tried to fight it but it got louder and louder.

She couldn’t take it anymore.
Remember she had a gun before.
She pulled it out from her father’s drawer and almost pulled the trigger.
Until she seen a bright white figure.

She was afraid.
But her death was delayed.

It was god the almighty man god.
He wanted her to know something.
She was too shocked to say anything.

God held his hand out and hugged her.
All along god loved her.

It was such a sight to see now she could go to school and say “I seen god and what you have to say doesn’t faze gods outlook on me. “ I’m living my own life could you do the same”.

Feburary Freewrite

Which way do you learn the best? Hand-on, seeing, or hearing? I learn best by doing things hands-on because you also get to actually do something while your learning.

In woodshop, we have made a heart shaped stand. The stand took us six weeks to make and I know that seems like a long time, but we only have forty-five minutes a day to work on our projects. Some days we even have less time because of Wednesdays. As you all know on  Wednesdays we have a shorter day, which means shortened periods.

With the heart shaped tables or stands, our teacher had to teach us how to use a new machine in the shop. We learned how to use the Radial Arm Saw. The Radial Arm Saw is a combination of a circular saw and a track arm execpt the radial arm saw does cut the wood all the way through. It cuts dados in the wood creating a small arc to put the screw in to attach the legs and the heart pieces together.

Making this project requires a lot of knowledge with power tools. You have to know how to use a power drill, a jigsaw, radial arm saw, and a power sander. When your table or stand is all done you have a decision to put on a coat of stain to make the wood darker, or you can just put on clear coat. A stain makes your wood darker and a clear coat just brightens up the project.

If you plan on making something like a stand or table it will take a lot of practice. Making something look good is easy, but actually making something good is the trick!

VALENTINES DAY!!

Valentines day is for everyone some people might not thing so, but it is. There are some ups and downs to Valentines day. The ups are that you can show your effection for eather your friends or that someone speical. The downs are that you won't always get something or that you can't find anyone to be your Valentine. So just take this advice and try to be the best that you can.

Valentine ’s Day is something special for everyone.

There is hearts and flowers and candy aglow.

Then there’s that someone special

That we all love so dear in our hearts.

You want to make it special.

You think all day and then all night and suddenly…….

It’s there!!!!

You have the perfect idea a dozen roses

A box of candy and……………………..

YOUR HEART

You tell them you love them and

That you will never be apart

Then it happens you ask the question

“Will you be my Valentine?????”

They say yes and again once more you say

That you have a question

“Will you marry me?????”

They say yes…….then you wake up

Next to your love

But that’s in the future

Let’s stay with the here and now

Just ask them, just once

“Will you be mine?” or

“Will you be my Valentine?”

And you’ll wait for that yes

Forever or more

Brynn D -- The Excruciating Pain of a McKinley High Slushy

Article posted February 1, 2012 at 05:35 PM GMT0 • comment (1) • Reads 650

The Excruciating Pain of a McKinley High Slushy

“One word Kurt…Michael.” On January 31st 2012 at 8:00pm Eastern Time Fox aired the Michael Jackson episode of the hit TV series Glee. I give my praise to Darren Criss and Naya Rivera for having to go through the excruciating pain of a McKinley High ‘slushy’. I am really wondering why they had Sebastian slushy Blaine with a slushy that had rock salt in it. There was really no motivation behind it. I mean I get how Sebastian said that it was meant for Kurt but did he really think that taking out Kurt’s cornea would really get him Blaine. It was very unrealistic.

Not only that-but also how all of the Warblers who were Blaine’s best friends not four months ago would just leave him there on the floor soaked in ice, red dye number six and rock salt. I know that Wes and David would not leave their best friend lying there in excruciating pain. Those are not the Dalton Academy Warblers that I know. For example when Santana went to Dalton to confront Sebastian and stated how Blaine might lose and eye Trent was all worried about him.

Furthermore if Sebastian really wanted Blaine all for himself why would he do that and not be concerned for him at all. Now because of Sebastian Smythe Blaine has to have surgery on his right eye and he has to wear an eye patch. I also really don’t understand why Blaine has to stay home because he is not immobile. He is just blind in his right eye until his surgery. It doesn’t make any sense whatsoever.

In conclusion Sebastian Smythe is just a cheating, lying, evil, conniving, stealing, disgusting, slimy, creepy, boyfriend stealer. Sebastian is a horrid creature; I don’t even think that he qualifies for a human. He has not gotten anything positive out of the whole incident with Blaine. What he ended up with was no friends, Klaine becoming even stronger, Blaine and Kurt hating him more than they did before the slushy, all of the Warblers hating his guts and the truth about Sebastian Smythe out in the open. This episode of Glee was very unrealistic and I was quite disappointed with the Warblers or as Puck calls them the Garglers.

Cold and snowy. Heavy jackets and hats. That's Febuary for you cold and misirable. As you can see I don't like Febuary that much. I don't mind Febuary when it's not cold but when it's cold I hate it. When I am cold I wear three jackets and hate it. At least I stay warm.
Febuary would be a okay month if the weather was spring like. However it's not. Febuary is also good because it means winter is almost over! It means that the flowers will start blooming and the weather will be nice and not cold.I won't have to wear three jackets every day to stay warm. I also hate febuary because it's the month of Valentine's Day. I hate Valentine's Day I don't really know why it's just another day to me. People always seem to make a big deal about it. I don't see why it's so important. Other people may disagree and find many reasons why it's important. Which I can understand but I am more of a person who doesn't care about a day that doesnt mean anything. If you find it as a special day I can kinda understand on why you would. That is why I hate Febuary.

The Language of Music

February Free Write

Henry Wadsworth Longfellow once said that “Music is the universal language of mankind.” All around the world music is played. Some places play different type of music than others and some places play different instruments than other, but in the end a C chord is a C chord.

Music is music. The sounds never change. Your favorite song is the same song half way around the world as it is when you listen to it yourself. Somewhere in France there could be a person listening to the same exact song you listen to everyday. Music isn’t exclusive to a certain place. Same with music notes. A C is still a C in Russia as it is in India. In that way, music doesn’t change.

Music is made all around the world. Some people make it with their voice. Some people make music with different types of drums and guitars. Different places around the world do come with different types of music though. Country music in the United States isn’t the same as it is in Latvia, Germany, or in any other country. The same with other genres of music like rock, pop, and rap. If you want a true example of this listen to a modern day country song and then listen to a song of the same genre but by an artist from another country. Chances are that they won’t sound the same.

Even though the sounds may be different in some country, a specific song never changes and neither do specific notes. In conclusion, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow is right when he says that “Music is the universal language of mankind” because it is used and understood all around the world.

February

Nature is one of the many unbalanced forces on the Earth. mostly because it is depleating do to people that live on the Earth, there are oil spils in the ocean causeing animals sicknesses and other problems around the world. We have only one Earth I think we should appreciate it.

Nature

Nature is pure and spreads when it grows

But is it still growing, is it the same we know

From the pure ocean spray on the face of the land

To the rain drops falling from the sky into the palm of my hand

Tumble weeds race across the desert plain

The crisp taste of spring air each year the same

Winter, the time of year snowflakes fall so crystal clear

To new wild flowers that bloom in the spring each year

Birds that soar in the wind, so free, so high

Aren’t much different than trees on the ground reaching for the sky

There are wolves that howl toward the moon

And caterpillars sleeping in their snug cocoons

Wild flowers that grow in the spring

Accompany the beautiful birds that sing

Nature can be beautiful in all these way

In others though they did not stay

The ocean is contaminated with oil puddles

As the tumble weeds caught in the trash befuddled

The trees reaching the sky are brought to their knees

As the song birds get sick and wheeze

We can help save the land

But the choice is in our hands.

Once there was a story. This story was so extraordinary it was spread out across the world, and not one person disliked this story. Children would beg for it before bed, and adults sat around with their drinks and slurred it in hushed voices. Anyone could tell you this story. It came in many shapes, sizes, and colors both happy and sad but mainly with joyful endings. It would ring through the rafters of any bar or restaurant. The world was so beautiful with this story in it.

Then sadly one day the story went missing. The people couldn’t understand why it would leave them. They searched high and low, through all forests and under every rock. They went in the highest trees to the deepest of oceans, but they never found the story. It had left them alone and they went quiet. Not knowing what else to say without the story the world grew dark, and silent as a sleeping child. The world went from joyous and colorful to bleak and grey. No one laughed and children would stay awake wanting something to slip them into sleep.

Months went by and no one was really happy. They had given up the search to find they’re dear story. A boy so small and so innocent hadn’t given up yet. He thought to himself ‘If I were a story, where would I hide?’ and then he looked into the place no one else bothered to look. He looked deep within his heart. When he realized what he found, he let it soar from his tongue. The story erupted threw the world after everyone realized what the boy had found. It had been sleeping deep in everyone’s hearts dreaming of the day it returned. Now, everything started to grow light and color again.

Then the world went back to being alive and beautiful. The story went singing everywhere from everyone. Everyone held it close to them and they promised never to let it go. They refused to ever lose it again. The story never had a name and the darling boy who had found the story named it.

The story’s called Love maybe you heard it before.

Emily P -- Oh How I Miss Those Summer Nights

One summer night Breanna, Sommar, and I took a walk. We walked around the camp and it was pitch black and scary. We saw something move in the bushes! Sommar yelled, “Oh my God a bear."
We ran as fast as we could to the bathroom. We called Sommar's dad (the security guard of the camp) to come see what was in the bushes. It happened to be some camper’s dog! We were looking for all day!
We decided to go night swimming! The water was warmer than it was during the day. We met some new campers. We hung out with them all night.
When the next day came we ended up sleeping at Sommar’s house. We made pancakes and bacon. We ate and ate! We realized that are friends were leaving the campground that night so we had to go say good bye. It was a very sad day but we got their phone numbers and were going to hang out with them again sometime soon.

Megyn S -- A Thousand Years<3

True love is something not everyone in the world finds. Sure when you’re young you think you’re in love, and maybe you are. However for some people it’s not their true love. It is just someone they have found to keep them occupied as they get closer and closer to their true love. Some people refer to their true love as their soul mate.  According to Greek Mythology: The first humans were created with four arms, legs, and eyes, and two noses and mouths. Afraid of their power, Zeus split them in half, leaving them to find the other half of themselves… these people are called our soul mates. When you find your soul mate you will truly be complete.

Have you ever been in love? The first time you find someone who likes you for who you are you feel like nothing else in the world matters. You think it must be the best thing that could ever happen to you. Maybe you’re the type of person to try your very hardest to make it work. Maybe you’re the type of person who just acts like themselves and says if you don’t like what you see then I guess you aren’t worth being with, or maybe you play it off all cool like you don’t care what others think when really each time you look in the mirror you find something to change about yourself because you just want everything to be perfect.

A Thousand Years

By: Christina Perri

Heart beats fast

Colors and promises

How to be brave

How can I love when I'm afraid

To fall

But watching you stand alone

All of my doubt

Suddenly goes away somehow

One step closer

(Chorus)

I have died everyday waiting for you

Darlin' don't be afraid I have loved you

For a thousand years

I'll love you for a thousand more

Time stands still

Beauty I know she is

I will be brave

I will not let anything

Take away

What's standing in front of me

Every breath, every hour has come to this

One step closer

(Chorus)

I have died everyday

Waiting for you

Darlin' don't be afraid

I have loved you

For a thousand years

I'll love you for a thousand more

And all along I believed I would find you

Time has brought your heart to me

I have loved you

For a thousand years

I'll love you for a thousand more

One step closer One step closer

(Chorus)

I have died everyday waiting for you

Darlin' don't be afraid

I have loved you

For a thousand years

I'll love you for a thousand more

And all along I believed I would find you

Time has brought your heart to me

I have loved you for a thousand years

I'll love you for a thousand more

Sometimes love does not work out the way you want it to the first time. You find someone who you accept flaws and all, but they aren’t as accepting as you are so it just doesn’t work out. For some people, you admire someone for so long, and you truly, deeply like them, but they don’t notice you for so long that once they fall for you too you cannot even believe it. True love is hard to find, and for some people it takes longer than others to find it. Don’t worry about finding “the one” if you’re only in high school. You have your whole life ahead of you. Just think of all the people you haven’t met yet.

Jennifer V -- Inspirations!

Everyone has been through a time in their life where they feel like they can’t do anything right and everything just seems to go against them. For example sports and academics; sometimes in life we tell ourselves we are not good enough and we tell ourselves to just give up. Maybe it’s a relationship you got out of and now that the person you love is gone and you can’t seem to find a way back to your normal self. In life we face many challenges that we must learn to overcome them and most the time we need a little bit of up lifting inspiration to help us through them.

There are many people who inspire me in my life. One of the many people is my mom. My mom is a very hardworking person and has always been there for me. She has not only been there for me but my four other sisters also. I give her so much credit for taking care of my sisters and I in such a pleasing and calm way. Not only is my mom very dedicated to her family but she can always put me in a good mood. She knows how to make me smile and laugh. My mom is one of the many people that inspire me a great deal.

Another person who inspires me a lot is my oldest sister Kylie Ann. I choose her because I feel like out of all of my sisters she is the one I look up to the most. She’s always there for me even though she goes to college seven hours away she is also just a phone call away. Whenever she comes home we always talk about what is new and whenever I need good advice she always can help me. I look up to her because she has a life full of success. She is at college and working hard. She has made mistakes like everyone but has learned from her mistakes and I look up to her because of how well she deals with her mistakes. My sister is one of the many people who inspire me very much!

Who do you look up to when life gets you down? Who is the one that is always there for you through the ups and downs? In my life when I’m struggling I can always look up to my mom and my oldest sister Kylie because they know how to put me and a good mood and they inspire me a great deal.

ERRRRRR! Times up! today is Valentine's Day! This poem explains why I dislike Valentine's Day

Roses are red violets are blue

I dislike Valentine’s Day how about you?

All the shopping carts,

Filled with sappy hearts.

The chocolate is tasty

But this holiday’s hasty.

Roses smell good

But they belong in the woods.

It’s either corny cards,

Or disregards.

Those last minute shoppers,

Prove they are just hoppers.

Why stand in line,

It’s just a waste of time.

No need to get gussied up

And end up stuck.

It’s just like any day

So you don’t have to say…

I love you

Even though I do.

Do you have a cousin who you are close to? Do you fight sometings like sister/ brothers? Do you still love them when its all done? My two best friends Emily and Lauren are cousins. They do every thing together.

Cousins,

Like sisters,

in side and out.

Famlies are close, but

we are closer.

We may have many problems, and

Many choices to make.

Like and older sister,

Not physically but emotionally.

You were always there,

Like my twin,

Best friends.

We fight, and

We talk.

We get angry, and

We act childish.

We try to do our best, and

we succeed as it.

~We are like sisters

Emily and Lauren fight a lot just like sisters and when you see them the next day they are happy to be with each other most of the time! Emily and Lauren are always there for each other no matter what. When Emily is having a bad day Lauren is always there to make Emily feel better. It goes the same way when Lauren is having a bad day.

I have a cousin who is 6 years older than I am and even though we arn't close in age we a close at heart. My cousin name is Krysie she is a strong and caring person. We are very close. If I every just need to talk to someone I call her because she is always there to listen. My cousin has tought me many things. She has tought me that if you fall down in life to get back up and fix your mistake and move on with life. I love my cousin very much and I hope our relationship will be for ever great.

Lots of people have a cousin or someone they are close with. Even if you sometimes fight never break that bond.

The Walking Dead
Have you ever wanted everything you see to be free? If you go to a store you could take anything you want. There may be a one problem though, zombies.
Rick Grimes was a sheriff in a small town outside of Atlanta, Georgia when he recieved a call for back up. The suspects were armed and dangerous and engaged in a high speed chase. When Rick arrived at the scene the car was hit by spike strips and flipped over. Three suspects jumped out and started firing at Rick and were promptly put down. But just when they thought it was over another suspect jumps out and shoots Rick in the chest.
About a month later Rick wakes up in a hospital powered by emergency lights and covered in blood. After locating his sheriff outfit he sets out to his house. On the way there he sits down and sees a man in a suit shambling towards him. Then he gets hit the face with a shovel and knocked unconcious. Rick wakes up in the house of Duane and his son (who hit him with the shovel, thinking he was a zombie) and they fill him in on what happened. A zombie outbreak with no known cause and no cure. If you are bit or scratched by a zombie you develop a fever and eventually die, only to come back as a zombie anywhere from three minutes to three hours later. Duane and Rick head to the sheriffs station and load up a bag of shotguns, rifles, pistols and ammo.
If you haven't figured it out yet this from the series The Walking Dead. This is only a small part of the first episode, if you think you may like it check out the series on AMC.

2.       Then I would go and by myself a wonderful horse.(:

3.       Then I would find someone that doesn’t have a lot of money and give them some to get there life started.

4.       Also I would go and give some to a charity.

5.       Next I would go and give some to my grandma and grandpa for them to pay off all their medical bills and there farm that they are living on.

6.       I would go and by myself a nice car.

7.       Would let me brother and sister get anything they want.

8.       Then I would go and pay for my college.

9.       Next there would be a big party that I would celebrate for my winning of money.

10.   I would go and by myself a nice house and pay it off, so it was all mine.

11.   Then I would go and find something to do for a living after I had my nursing degree.

12.   After I found a job I would go and by myself a plane ticket to Hawaii.

13.   I would also go and get a new wardrobe.

What’s your favorite season? Do you like winter? Do you like fall? My favorite time of year is summer. The reason I like summer so much is because it’s so warm. When it’s warm you can do a lot of things. For example you can go swimming. In the summer that’s one thing I love to do swim. You can go to water parks too which is really fun. Another thing you can do in the summer is go to the beach. The beach is a lot of fun becauseits so pretty.

Another reason I love the summer is because there is no school. You don’t have to worry about getting up early, which is the best part about the summer. You can stay home and do absolutely nothing. Whether it be chilling on the couch or going somewhere. The other great thing about summer is traveling. In the summer people usually go to really exciting places like amusement parks, and other places. Last summer I went to Niagara Falls and a bunch of other places too. I can’t wait till this summer so that way I can go to different places.

What are you going to do this summer? Are you going to travel? Are you going to relax? Hopefully whatever it is it will be fun.

How does your Valentine's Day start off? Mine starts off great. How Does your start. I like Valentine's Day it is fun. Mine starts like this. I wake up in the morning and my mom usually makes us a big breakfast. Then if there is school that day we get ready and then we go to school. I get to see my friends. We talk at our lockers and then go to class.Classes are fun because sometimes you get candy.I like Valentine's Day because maybe you will find the love of your life and life would be great.
When you find the love of your life you won't know it's them. It's not the person you would mostly expect it would be. It is the person you would least expect it to be. If that's not the person at least you still have your family. Also on Valentine's Day my mom makes us dinner. She would cook us heart shaped meat loaf, and pink mash potatoes, and a heart shaped cake for dessert.
My mom usually tells us when we are done with our meal that we are all her valentine's. She also gives us candy and some small presents to open. My mom tries to make everyone feel special. I hope one day I can do this with my family. I like Valentine's Day it is fun. How does your Valentine's Day start off? Mine starts off great. ow does yours start off?

Imagine a world where love didn’t exist. Everybody has lost a loved one and now just want to tell them that they love them. Have you ever wanted to tell someone you love that you love them but couldn’t? I picked the poem "It’s More Than Saying I Love You" because I have just recently lost someone I love. Now that Valentine’s Day is coming around I want to tell her that I love her but I can’t. Even though those that have passed on know that you love them it still isn’t the same. You can’t tell them how much you love them anymore.

There has been a lot of death in the past few months. Joe Paterno passed away in January and Whitney Houston passed away February 11 (Saturday).

Joe's family, players, students, and fans were and still are devostated about his death. The whole Penn State family went through chaos when Joe was fired and now they are still mourning over his death. All most everyone who was bad mouthing Joe are now mourining over his death. Death is a powerful thing that brings everybody down.

Whitney had died right before the Grammy's. Everyone who was in the Grammy's was upset because Whitney was a good person and probably was someone who was in that room the night of Grammy's Whitney was probably a good friend to.

The poem "It's More Than Saying I Love You" describes how someone who is hurt and mourning over the death of a loved one wants to see them again and tell them how much they miss them. Anyone and everyone who has lost a loved one or someone that they were really close to can relate to this poem. Valentine's Day is done and now is when someone is really going to be mouning over the death of a loved one. Especially if it is the first Valentine's Day that they haven't spent with them.

It’s More Than Saying I Love You

I wondered behind the city walls,

Waiting for the birds of Heaven,

To take me towards You; Angel,

You departed so early,

To the point of no return,

You passed away with the sole tie,

That binds us together,

Please let me see you once,

Allow me one chance,

To see you even in dreams,

And I shall be glad and thankful,

Because I only dreamed to love you,

And be with you,

No matter where, when or how,

Just believe me,

I will no longer stand behind the city walls,

and when my night falls,

I shall see you at the Gates of Heaven.

It is a very long journey to get to the NBA. It is a lot of work and only the strong, dedicated people do. Do you have a favorite NBA team? My favorite team is the Chicago Bulls. The Bulls franchise started in 1966 and is still presntly active. The Bulls have won six NBA championships during that time. Michael Jordan, argueably the best player to ever play the game, was a huge part of all six championships.

Many great players have played for the Chicago Bulls over the years. Some of them are Michael Jordan 1984-1998, Scottie Pippen 1987-2004, Dennis Rodman 1995-1998, Derrick Rose 2004-Present. Michael Jordan and Derrick Rose are the only two bulls players to win the Most Valueable Player award. This award is given to the player who would make any team better.

The Bulls area, where the games are held, is called the United Center. The bulls have appeared in six NBA championships. They won the championship every time they were there. Michael Jordan and Dennis Rodman were huge parts of all six champiponships. Dennis Rodman led the team in rebounding in 1996, 1997, and 1998. The bulls played the Utah Jazz in two out the six championships.

In conclusion, the Chicago Bulls is a successful franchise. They have done many great things over the years. Those are some things about the Chicago Bulls you may not have known.

Do you want to sound smarter? You will sound smarter because when you say random facts it makes it seem like you know a lot. Knowing random facts creates the illusion that you know a lot. It will also make you feel smarter. Random facts are important because when you tell them to people it makes you feel good. Random facts can also make you feel good by knowing them.
If you know somebody who is always spending money on the lottery and you inform them that: “the chance that you will die going to get a lottery ticket is greater than the chance that you will win the lottery.” Then they might not spend a lot of money on lottery tickets. If you are planning on going to Antarctica then it might be helpful to know that there is an ATM there. You would be surprised about how companies own other companies. The Pepsi Company owns KFC, Taco Bell, and Pizza Hut. If you like presidents then you might be surprised to know some things about them. One thing is that Grover Cleveland’s first name was Stephen; Grover was his middle name. Another thing is that Harry S. Truman’s middle name is S.
I really like random facts because I can learn a little about a lot of topics without learning a lot about the topics. Random facts can be anything from 111,111,111 times 111,111,111 equals 12345678987654321 to Dolly Parton once lost a Dolly Parton look-alike contest. These are some random facts; roadside billboards are prohibited in four US states: Alaska, Hawaii, Maine, and Vermont. As you age your eye color gets lighter. More people are killed each year by donkeys than plane crashes. The Mars Rover "Spirit" has a top speed of 0.1 mph.

In conclusion random facts are important.

Sometimes you say that you hate your sibblings. I know I do but in the end I love them and that they know that I am joking with them.

In the month of February I have one person that is close to me that has a birthday. That is my sister. My sister’s birthday is February 2. Its Ground Hogs day! Since my sister was born on that day my Grandpa has always called her Groundhog.
She doesn’t mind she actually likes it! I really can’t believe that she likes being called Groundhog. I guess since she was called that from the day she was born I half to believe that she really dose like it. She likes sharing her birthday with Puxatawney Phil it kinda gives her something to look forward to ! On her birthday my Grandpa calls early in the morning to wish her a very happy birthday! Then once we get home from school my mom is cooking she will ask my sister what she would like for her birthday dinner. This year we had steak and mac & Cheese. She loves steak and that homemade mac&cheese.

Of course as every one knows there has to be cake at the end of a birthday dinner! We had a vanilla cake with white icing. Since my dad had work the night of my siters birthday we had cake for breakfast with my dad that morning. That was really good. My sister loved the idea of having cake for breakfast. She didn't even know that we were going to have cake. She was so surprised!

My sister had a great birthday. I'll bet it will be on she will never forget. I think she will love this day forever!

Have you ever had a crush on someone? February is the month of love. When people talk about February I think of Valentines Day which is on February 14, and this year is on a Tuesday. In February at my old school different grades did different things for Valentine’s Day.  From kindergarten to second grade they made crafts. When they were in 3rd through 5th grade they sold lollipops with little messages on them. They sold them at lunch from the beginning of February until the day before. Then on Valentine’s Day they went around to the classrooms to give them to the people that sent then to others. It was so cute to see all the little kids with their lollipops and messages.

Valentine’s Day is a special day to show your love for someone. You can send them things like cards, candy and stuffed animals. It means more to someone when you make them gifts then when you buy them something. When you make people gifts you took the time out of your day to make it, rather than go to the store and buy something. Plus when you make people gifts it was your idea rather than someone else. For example a heart if you cut out a heart it may not be perfect but it still will look good. The person you give it to will appreciate it more.

Some people get candy for Valentine’s Day. Other people get gifts with a more special value such as jewelry. But if you get a gift for Valentine’s Day you should be happy and thankful, at least you got actually were thought of. Valentine’s Day is a day to show your love for someone more than you usually do.

Have you ever tried cheerleading? Have you ever lifted someone up in the air and had to keep them in the air for a significant amount of time? If you haven’t…you should try it sometime. Some people say that cheerleading isn’t a sport, but in my opinion it is one of the hardest sports to master.
There are many different stunts you can do in cheerleading. A stunt is a term in cheerleading that involves lifting someone in the air in some possible way. The simplest form of stunt in my opinion is a half. A half involves two bases, a back and a flyer. The bases are the two people who support the girl in the air (the flyer). To get momentum to jump into the bases hands with her feet, the flyer must have a back supporting her weight on her bounces to give her more power to get into the air.
A half is when the bases are supporting their flyer located at the base of their necks and the flyer is fully standing up with her feet in their hands evenly. The back puts her hands on the flyers ankles to support some of her weight so the bases don’t have as much to support. Her weight is evenly distributed between the two bases and she is balanced so she can stay in the air steadily. To be able to do these mounts as a base, you must be strong and you must have strong arm muscles and the same with being a back, but when being a flyer, you must have both strong leg and arm muscles but mainly strong leg muscles because you must be supporting some of your own weight.
Another simple, yet difficult stunt is a full. The only difference between a half and a full is in a full, the bases fully extend their arms up into the air and the flyer is higher. The biggest importance in a full is for your bases to lock their arms so they don’t struggle holding the weight of their flyer. To get out of these two mounts, you push the flyers feet out to the side of you and catch her when she is falling.
Have you ever considered doing cheerleading or said that cheerleading isn’t a sport? Think again if you say this statement because it’s not true. Cheerleading takes hard work, determination, muscles and skill.

Movie theaters

Everyone enjoys doing something fun right? Like hanging out with friends. Or seeing a good movie with friends. Going to the movies with my friends is one of my favorite things to do. There are always multiple movies to pick from and if you don’t like the movies that are playing they always switch to new movies.

If you go to the movies with friends then it gives you a reason to spend time with them. It also gives you and your friends something to talk about. Another great thing about going to the movies is that you get to watch a movie on a huge screen. You also have a choice to get pop-corn and soda and other good snacks.

From my experience of going to the movies I have come to realize that there are a few different types of people that go to the movies. One type is the people that go and are very interested in watching the movie. These people are the people that will watch the entire movie without feeling the need to talk the whole time. The other type of people are the people who just sit there and talk to the person next to them or they do something else distracting. These people could still be watching the movie, but they seem to make a lot of comments about the movie while the movie is still on. I am the type of person that just likes to watch the movie. To me it makes no sense to go out and spend money to watch a movie if your just going to talk the whole time.

Going to the movies is very common for my friends and I to do. Whether it’s a movie that we’re dying to see, or if it’s just a plan we made to hang out with each other. We always seem to have a good time. Even if it’s a sad movie, we can still share all of our thoughts about the movie once it’s over. This also gives us a topic to talk about. That is what I think about going to the movie theaters.

Julie K -- the dreaded day.

February Freewrite:

Tragedies happen. People make mistakes. Accidents occur. On February 8th, the worst thing a daughter could think of happened to me. It was fourth period in the wacky Wednesday schedule; call comes through, I’m going home. I walk downstairs to find my dad. I asked him why he was there, then the gut renching news he told me I wasn’t prepared for. My step dad had been in an accident, and he knew nothing. The only thing he knew was that he was on his way to CMC in critical condition.

As I got there the accident had already been shown on the news, knowing no details to what had happened. I got to the hospital around 11:30 and hardly knew anything. I walk into a waiting room full of family, looking for answers and they had none to give me. I sat there waiting until finally at 2:57 I got to go in and see him. I expected him to look broken, but he didn’t. He looked like himself, only in pain. I expected to see him look completely different, unrecognizable, but he didn’t. As I walked into the room where he was, the most relieving feeling came over me. I finally knew for myself that he’d be okay. That day changed our lives forever.

All of the different stories everyone's saying, all of what they think happened that day; here’s the truth to the accident and what happened. The man who hit my dad, wearing a seatbelt, with his three year old daughter right in the truck beside him, no car seat, no seatbelt, nothing. He was going too fast for the road and wasn’t paying attention period. He was in the middle of the road when the accident happened. My step dad slammed on the brakes, swerved to the right towards the bank, and still the other man managed to hit my step dad.

Instantly the man and his daughter were killed. There was a man following my step dad and he seen everything. They man a few days later called my step dad, and told him everything he seen. He said that he thought he was more in shock then my step dad was. He didn’t expect to see him get out of the truck, but he did. He went to get out of the passenger side and there was a five foot drop down, which he didn’t know about. He then rolled under the truck, then the man that was following my step dad ran towards him and helped him up. He stumbled up the bank to the other truck, but the man told him that he wasn’t allowing him to go to the other vehicle, that he didn’t find the man to be alive because the other truck was so bad. He was right, but come to find out was then when he noticed the little girl by him. They were instantly killed on impact.

My step dad called my mom when he was up on the road; she didn’t recognize his voice. He then told her what had happened, and she didn’t realize that he was the one in the accident. She then asked if he was okay thinking he was only the first one coming upon the accident. When he answered I don’t believe so, it finally clicked that it was him that had been in the accident, especially when he said the other man was dead. Not knowing how to react she just went to find out if everything. While she was on her way there, the man that had helped my step dad up the bank and seen everything went to go get help and call for the ambulance.

Two van-full of paramedics came to the scene of the accident, one van-full were working on my step dad and the other were trying to bring the other man and daughter back to life. They were unsuccessful. My mom got there to see him in the ambulance full of paramedics. Then she heard that there were two dead and that my step dad was in critical condition, and then heard that the life flight was coming. Luckily, the paramedics called off the life flight and took him to CMC on their own. The only good sign of that being that it wasn’t life threatening.

I finally found out all of this after I got there. It felt like it took a life time to find out about anything that had happened.

*That was only the beginning to a never ending story.

Makala M -- HOW TO TACK UP A HORSE

Article posted March 19, 2012 at 09:39 PM GMT0 • comment • Reads 493

FEBRUARY FREEWRITE:

Clip-clop there goes a horse right by you. If you have ever wondered how to ride a horse I am just about to tell you. This is how to tack up a horse (all of the things you need to do in order to ride a horse):

1.) Use a rubber or metal curry comb to get all of the visible mud, dirt, and hair off of the horse. Don’t use this brush on the face or legs.

2.) Use a stiff brush to get all of the remaining dirt off and do the legs and gently brush the face. Cover the eye on the side of the face you are brushing if the horse will let you, if he doesn’t then don’t worry about it.

3.) Use a soft brush over the whole entire body.

4.) Use a face brush to brush in more detail on the face.

5.) Carefully, pick all of the dirt, mud, sand, rocks etc… out of the feet. When doing this it is a good idea to have someone hold the horse, or tie your horse safely.

6.) Use a mane and tail brush or even a girl’s hairbrush to brush the mane and tail. If there is something in their mane or tail that could agitate them that would make it an unpleasant ride for both of you.

7.) Double check all of the above steps to be sure you have completed all of the steps. You may want to check under the horse’s stomach and top of their back, as these are the places I miss most of the time.

8.) Check your saddle pad to be sure that there is no hay, sticks etc.

9.) Let the horse see/smell the saddle pad, so they don’t jump when you put it on them.

10.) Put the saddle pad on the top of the horse’s withers (the highest point of the horse, right above their front feet). You do this on the left side of the horse.

11.) Let the horse see/smell the saddle so it knows what you are doing.

12.) Put the right stirrup (where your right foot goes) on the horn (the “handle” in the front of the saddle).

13.) Put the saddle on the saddle pad. Then adjust it so it is square on the saddle pad.

14.) Go to the right side of the horse and put the stirrup down and make sure that there are no twisted straps.
15.) Next you go back to the left side of the horse and have someone hand the girth to you, this is so you don’t get kicked, stepped on or ran over.

16.) Hold the girth in your left hand and the strap in you right. Put the strap right down through the loop. Then bring it back up and down through the loop that the strap is attached to. Bring the strap out off the loop on the left side of the ring. Then put it across the ring pointing toward the tail of the horse. Then put it up through the ring. Don’t pull it tight because you want to put the rest of the strap through the loop you created. For now you want to leave a small space from between the girth and the horse’s stomach.

17.) Unclip the lead rope and loop it around the horse’s neck. Have someone hold your horse so you can take off your horse’s halter. Hold your horse’s bridle in your left hand and put your hand on the horse’s forelock. Then gently slide the bit into the horse’s mouth. Put the ears where they belong. Latch the throat latch don’t let your reins hit the ground at any time.

18.) When you are done with the bridle you walk the horse around because they like to trick you and make you think that they are ready to be ridden when they really aren’t, they have a breath full of air so it makes it look like your girth is tight when it really isn’t. So even if you just walk them a couple feet that would be fine. Then tighten your girth again.

19.) Double check everything before you get on.

20.) Don’t forget your helmet!

When you ride a horse you should remember to be patient and forceful when you tell them what to do. Make sure that you do all of the steps listed above before you get on the horse. After you complete all of the steps above be sure to have fun when you ride your horse.

Shania M -- CATFISH!

February Freewrite

Once upon a time there was a kitten named Kelly. Though this kitten wasn't like others, for she was in love with a fish. Which, as most of you know, cats usually eat fish. This fish's name was Brandon.
Every day at exactly 12 o'clock the two would meet at the dock and talk for hours. They were truely in love. One day Brandon wasn't at the dock. Instead there was a note telling Kelly to go to the east side of the river. There she met Brandon. Brandon showed her his home and she spent that night there with Brandon.
The next few days Kelly didn't go to the dock. That was until one day, in which she told Brandon she was pregnant! It seemed to take forever before she gave birth. During the months of her pregnancy Kelly lived down next to the river with Brandon. Finally, serveral weeks later, Kelly was ready to have the child.
Both Kelly and Brandon's families were there to find out if the child would be a cat or a fish. Though the child wasn't exactly one or the other. It was half cat, half fish, so they called it a catfish. Many people have heard different stories, but this is the true story. Congratulations, now you know the truth, so tell all of your friends and family.

The End

Dreaming is a weird thing if you think about it. Closing your eyes and falling asleep and seeing and imagining things. This poem is mainly about dreams and life and reality.

February freewrite

Space is just a place
with no human race
no law or no rule
no sinner no fool
we are all just dreamers

all floating in a dream
so what's closing your eyes
if nothings as it seems
what you see
what you feel
what you hear
what you eat
who you meat
what you fear
reality is a locked door with no key
and right now is all that will ever be
there is no tomorrow
there is no yesterday
and if you could finally wake up
you'd see the sky today

I wrote this poem(:

So many questions, and there's so little time. So many thoughts, not enough dreams; what shall my prediction be, what to think?

would you tremble to the touch of my lips?
If I touched your lips?
You take my breath away
Waiting for the moment when our lips collide
Almost stops the earth.
Take my hand?
Dance in the moonlight?
You’re the light.
I’m the moth
You’re the brightest star.
I’m in love? It’s a beautiful day
I don’t care what the weatherman says.
Without you I can breath
Without you I can’t see
I have a purpose once again forgetting all the problems
Focusing on you
And only you

The Ocean Can Be Friend Or Reaper

February Freewrite

There was once a girl who lived on the ocean shore. As she had grown up, the ocean had been her favorite friend; she went out on the beach every day, sometimes swimming, sometimes walking, and sometimes just sitting in the sand, listening to the ocean breathe. She swam very often; so often, that her natural hair color was bleached by the sun, and her skin was permanently salt-water scented. During the summer, she was out on the beach every day, from dawn until dusk and often later.

It was on one of these summer days that she was swimming, far out in the ocean, floating on the backs of the waves. She was out much farther than she had ever been before, but that had never worried her. She just continued swimming, treading water, observing the other-worldly landscape beneath the surface. However, she noticed the current changing; it was getting a little stronger than she was used to. Still she was unconcerned, for it wasn’t anything she couldn’t handle.

The current kept gaining more strength, steadily pushing her farther out to sea. When she noticed what was happening, she began to get a little worried. The waves were rougher out here, the flux of the ocean much stronger and wilder; she was having trouble keeping her head above the tumbling sea surf. She realized where she was; she was stuck in the rip tide. The only way to escape it would be to swim diagonally towards the beach. Although she could only see a small strip of land that was the shore, she began to swim, gaining little progress, her already-tired limbs getting quite heavy.

All of sudden, a very large wave rose up from the water and came crashing down, straight onto the girl. It felt like a hundred hands were pushing her down, forcing her deep under the water. She managed to kick her way back to the surface, but more waves had formed by then. They kept coming, crashing down upon her head, as though the ocean was determined to keep her under. She finally lost all strength to fight it. Her whole body was cold, her lungs were filled with salt water, and the tide was dragging her under.

Right there in the rip tide of the ocean, in the arms of her “favorite friend,” she drowned, her body sinking below the surface, coming to rest on the ocean floor. It was never found.

Ali should enjoy her birthday and hopefully my friend and I get to go see the movies we want to see. Have a great February!

February Free Write.

February.. The month of love and romance; for those who have a love or romance. This is month of Valentine・s Day. I for one am excited for Valentine's Day weekend. I might go to the movies with my friend. Also, it・s my dog・s birthday.

I might go see The Vow with my friend Alexis. It is about love so it kind of fits this month's theme of love and romance. Too bad we don't have dates to take. d; Hopefully we also go out to eat. That would be really fun. I also might go to the movies to see Safe House, which is about a CIA agent and a bad mission. Its rated R and it is violent. It sounds like a lot of fun doesn't it?

This month is also the month of my dogs birthday. Her name is Ali May and she will be turning three on February 13. She was born on Friday the 13 three years ago. I think that's kind of special. My little sister is making her a special cake out of dog food and treats. Last year we almost forgot her birthday, but we aren't making that mistake twice.

I hope every one enjoys the beautiful month of February and is occupied by love and romance.

My dog is a black and white Shih Tzu, His name is Buster. During the winter when we don’t get his hair cut he’s big and fluffy and has soo much hair that hangs to the ground from his belly and has so much hair he can barely see. In the summer we get his hair cut and he’s small and soft and sort of look like a rat, but a cute rat. (: he has a under bite and always has the tip of his tongue sticking out so he looks really really funny.

Buster loves to sleep on his back with his legs in the air. His favorite thing to do is play ball, he has lots of tennis balls and he will get one and bring it to you and he will make you through it for him over and over and over again and it gets very annoying. He’s very bossy, and pushy, if you don’t do what he wants he will bug you and cry in till he gets what he wants. I think the best part about my dog is that he’s over protective of me, and no one’s allowed to hit me or ruff house with me because he thinks there hurting me and he will bit the person that hitting me, if I tell him to attack someone he will. He’s definitely my dog; he doesn’t like anyone but me.  He sleeps in my bed with me every night, and I like that I’m the only one he trust.

I’ve had buster since he was just about a year old, I’ve had him for 5 years. Ever since I got him I knew he was mine because since he was just a puppy he did not like anyone else. My dog follows me every ware I go, I guess you could say he is like a lost puppy. Ha-ha. I can’t leave a room without him being right behind me. Every time I leave and come back when he sees me he goes crazy he gets so existed and freaks out that I’m home. I’m so happy that I have a dog that loves me that much, it feels good to know no matter what I have someone who loves me unconditionally, right or wrong, through everything.

Travis T -- 2nd is the best.

Winter cold or frigid? Winter is the most appalling occasion of the year. The winter sends chills to your bones and causes distress with its winter mess, and the days that are too diminutive to enjoy. I just want winter over with and for spring to come in.

Winter a terrible thing that I wish was gone. During this winter we have had lots of cold weather which I loathe. We have had little snow lately, but when we did get some snow it was a very irritable task cleaning up the left over mess. I want spring to come so that we can have normal temperature that is not to hot and not to cold. In the winter the days are too short to enjoy to the full measure of them. The sun does not come out till right before I leave my house to go to school. Then by time I get home at three forty the sun is about to go down at five O'clock.

This winter has been one of the better ones though for the reason that we have had small amounts of snow.  Then we have also had a few days when the temperature was not to frigid. Like January thirtieth we had sixty five degree weather at my house. The good news of this winter is that the time the sun is up is increasing every day meaning we are getting even closer to spring. When spring comes winter will be gone and temperature will increase.

Winter is so cold and frigid and needs to go away. The winter is cold and causes you to have Goosebumps. Winter also leaves behind a mess. Winter has causes some people much distress. This winter has not been so bad but still unlikeable.
