Galaxy

3rd Time's a Charm

START

 3rd person Limited Omniscient

Once upon a yesterday several years ago, a child was born. When born her hair was thick and black, her skin the lightest ivory, and her eyes wide and curious. Her mother stared longingly at the child’s beauty and named her Galaxy.

Years passed and the child grew taller, longer, and lovelier. Her eyes had transformed from the deep colors of any child to an enticing green. She grew long and thin, and her mother watched in a delightful manner. Though Galaxy was saddened to be without a father. Galaxy would dream of a father a happy beautiful man. She dreamt he’d come and take her to the zoo or at least to the old diner down the road. At fifteen her mother approached Galaxy reaching for her hand. Galaxy didn’t see and continued to pass. Her mother pulled her back and whispered.

“My darling Galaxy listen to my words, child please!”

So there she stood looking calmly curiously at her mother not knowing what she wished to say. She was wondering deeply what her mother was about to say. Her mother now spoke softer and sadder than she ever had prior to this day.

“My dear daughter, as you know, your father went away years ago before you had ever even faced the light of day. He was confused and never returned to say hello, but today I have to tell you something fantastical!”

Her mother was one for strange words and talked like a poet and loved to rhyme her words. She stood a moment in thought wondering what her father meant until the moment she saw a man standing silently by the door.

Shaking now scared she stuttered “d-d-d-d-dad.”

Years passed and the child grew taller, longer, and lovelier. Her eyes had transformed from the deep colors of any child to an enticing green. She grew long and thin, and her mother watched her calmly. There was never a father in the picture. At fifteen her mother approached Galaxy reaching for her hand and pulled her back whispering

“My darling Galaxy listen to my words, child please!”

Galaxy gave her mother a strange look and kind of just stood there. Her mother spoke again:

“My dear daughter, as you know, your father went away years ago before you had ever even faced the light of day. He was confused and never returned to say hello, but today I have to tell you something fantastical!”

After giving her mother a strange look Galaxy turned and froze. A tall black haired man stood in the doorway

Galaxy began to shake and stuttered “d-d-d-d-dad.”

“My dear daughter, as you know, your father went away years ago before you had ever even faced the light of day. He was confused and never returned to say hello, but today I have to tell you something fantastical!”
