It's almost here!! Summer is almost here, there is less than two weeks of school left. Right about now everybody is getting pumped up for Summer and nobody feels like being in school right now. All that you have on your mind is the summer....going swimming, hanging out with friends, going on vacation, sleeping in and enjoying the beautiful weather. Who would actually feel like being in school when all they can think about is that?!
I know that one of the things I can't stop thinking about right now is hanging out with friends. I love when you can just stay up all night going night swimming, camping out, dancing, and acting like complete weirdos. When you hang out with friends during the weekend you're having fun, but you're dreading that you still have to go back to school in a couple of days. During the summer though you know that school won't happen for a couple of months.
Another thing that I love about summer is going on vacation. My family goes to North Carolina, Outer Banks every other year or sometimes every year. This year we are going and I'm so excited to just enjoy the ocean, beach volleyball, long bikerides, swimming, crazy card games and everything else that we do. I also love hanging out with all of my family. Hanging out with my family isn't such a bad thing because we know how to actually have fun. Sometimes when people go to the beach they just sit on the sand and do nothing, but we're not like that. Also knowing that you don't have school coming up quickly, it makes it all the better to just be able to relax and not be stressed out.
The summer always has the best weather, that is why I love it so much. It's usually always sunny and hot which makes it the best season of all. During the school year, you always look forward to the summer because when you're in school you know that it could be really nice out, but you're stuck in school and not enjoying the fresh air. When the day hits when you can actually be out of school I always want to be outside and you should take advantage of the summer because when it's over you are stuck back into a class room for the next one hundred eighty school days.
Hanging out with friends, going on vacation, and the beautiful weather are onnly parts of why the Summer is so great. When we get out of school, go outside and enjoy the nice summer days because the summer is only so long.

Dear Freshy,
The time is finally here, you are officialy in Senior High. The first step is getting through your freshman year. There's no more PSSA'S though so that should make you happy, but there is alot of other advice I should give you.
My first piece of advice for you is that you shouldn't procrastignate on your homework. That is what I always did and it puts so much stress on you the day that you have to get it done.
Some things that you should look forward to are that you get to go to homecoming, you get to go to prep rally's, you get to have a big and better field day, and that you get to have more options. You shouldn't take advantage of those things though because they can be taken away in a snap.
Being a freshman is exciting, but has it's downfalls. You are considered the underdogs of Senior High. That stinks really bad because when people need help they don't usually come to you since you're "younger." Also since you're going into Senior High you should start trying to mature a little more. The teachers expect you to behave more than you did in Junior High.
There is all of the advice I have for you, and it is all you should need. Your Freshman year is not that hard and you should be able to get through it easily. Now it's time to put on a smile and make it through your first year of Senior High!
Sincerely, Lauren V :D

Hey Juliet

Sing It Out
Do you know a song that relates back to the story Romeo and Juliet? The song that I picked is called "Hey Juliet" by LMNT. This song talks about Romeo and Juliet, but do you believe this song has an accurate allusion of the passage?
This song talks about a guy who loves a girl who doesn't really notice him, but he wants to be her Romeo. He says how he's begging her to be with him, how she's so fine, and how he wants to run away with her. She doesn't even acknowledge him when he says "hey hey Juliet."
I believe that this song doesn't have an accurate allusion of Romeo and Juliet at all. He says how he wants to run away with her, which does some-what resemble the passage, but it says how she doesn't even notice him. In the passage Juliet loves Romeo and wants to be with him all of the time.
Do you agree why I believe that this song doesn't have a good portray of Romeo and Juliet? I believe that it doesn't at all. Now it's your turn to find a song that has a good or bad representation of Romeo and Juliet.

Assumptions-something that is accepted as true, but has no proof. Do you ever think that people are making assumptions of you? I always believe people think of me as a different person, but actually don't know the true me!
Don't you hate when you're walking through the hall and you see people watching you walk by? I hate this feeling with a passion. It makes you feel like there is something wrong with you and that you're not as good as them. I think that everybody is the same though. It doesn't matter on your race or your grades, or even the sports you do. Everybody should be treated exactly the same!
You should also be yourself and not let people make assumptions about you on how you dress. Everybody should be confident about themselves and let them express themselves how they want! It doesn't matter if you wear bright clothes, dark clothes, crazy clothes, or simple clothes. All that matters is what is in the inside.

March Freewrite:
The season has finally come! Track and Field has started up. The pain and agony has began once again. We have start back up on eating healthy, trying as hard as you can, and never giving up. This is what makes up the sport Track and Field.
Nobody ever likes to eat healthy all of the time, but our coach says we have to. He says thats what will make us stay fit. Not everybody will follow that rule though. During the night, you always are in the mood for a nice cookie, or a piece of chocolate cake. When thats in your house, you usually say...."just one won't hurt me." I know that is what I always say. Then the next day you just work harder to get rid of what you ate the night before. Also you need some of the fats that are in those unhealthy foods, so don't just give up on those tasty treats.
"You gotta run to the wall and push it each time you get to it." Our coach says that all of the time. When ever we get to our strongest point we are supposed to try even harder to get even better. For jumping, the wall is when you hit your farthest jump. When you hit that jump you feel like you'll never get a better jump, but you just keep pushing and then one day you finally get it. When you break "your wall" you feel so accomplished knowing that you just broke your own goal. Maybe our coach was right saying to "go to the wall and push it!"
You're supposed to never give up, but sometimes you can't be to harsh. Track is about having fun and being involved to keep in shape. Sometimes our coach pushes a little to hard though. I hate when we can't have fun because we're supposed to never give up and push on and on.
Those are some things that happen during track. Eating healthy, trying as hard as you can, and never giving up. That is what goes on during the fun/tortureous season of track and field!

Representin':
“All colors are the friends of their neighbors and the lovers of their opposites.” ~Marc Chagall I believe that my friends represent colors for all of our different personalitys! The colors that are the best for my friends are yellow, pink, purple, orange, and red.
- Yellow~ Kenzie Jane~ She is always so bubbly, happy, and smiley all of the time! When ever I am down I know that I can always turn to her to get a smile on my face.
- Pink~ Montooty~ She is always the one who dresses amazingly and is a total girly girl.
- Purple~ Jen-Jen~ She is loyal to everybody and she is always there for you when you need her. Also she's very inteligent.
- Orange~ Alexis~ She is very vibrant like the color orange. She always has lots of peppiness and colorfulness.
- Red~ Emilysmemely~ She is very loving and kind to everybody with a big heart.
That is how my friends personalitys represent colors! Some are happy all of the time, some are all girl, some are loyal, some are crazy and fun, and finally some are all out loving.

Construction Theory: Marxism
A marxist would criticize the song "Money, Money, Money" from the movie Mamma Mia.
One reason why they would criticize it is because the song talks about how the lady wants more money. In the lyrics it says, "In my dreams I have a plan If I got me a wealthy man I wouldn't have to work at all I'd fool around and have a ball." Marxist think that everybody should be treated the same and everybody should have the right to have money. Also that everybody should have "a ball."
Another reason why would be because they would say that you don't need money to have a good life. In the lyrics it says "Money, money, money
Must be funny In a rich man's world Money, money, money Always sunny In a rich man's world." It's not always sunny in a rich man's world. They could also have some hardships too.
That is why in conclusion Marxist would criticize the song "Money, Money, Money" from the movie Mamma Mia.

RUMORS and DRAMA!

February Freeewrite:
RUMORS, DRAMA, and more RUMORS! Is that what our school is all about? I don't think people should be going around and running their mouths all of the time about other people. It makes me so upset when my friends tell me that they heard somebody talking about me and making up rumors about me.
There are kids who get so upset that they cry or do something harmful to themselves. This should never happen to our school.
Some of the rumors that go around are horrible and stupid. It's mostly about boys/girls and who is going out with who. Sometimes it is about what people do at home and outside of school. Those are the rumors that make people hurt the most!
Drama....you could go on and on about that. Everyday there is always girls (usually) who are going around and creating drama between other girls. Even the closest of friends have drama though. I know that my best friend and I have drama ALL of the time, but we get over it and don't start a big problem.
There are girls/boys who will create so much drama that it turns into fights. Those fights are always over the most ridiculous things.
I don't believe our school should be going around and spreading rumors and drama about eachother. Don't you think our school should be drama free? I don't think it's ever going to be that way though. It's just a natural thing that goes on during our teenage years!
