Theme: Lying isn't always necessarily a bad thing.

Story Application:  The Djinn Al Faq lied to the man about his family being alive so he could continue to live his life somewhat happily.

Real Life Application:  When you know what your parents bought your sibling for his/her birthday, and they beg you to tell them what they will get, I personally wouldn't tell them and ruin the surprise!  If you can't change the subject, it may be in everybody's best interest to lie.
