Remembering 9-11-01 During a Baseball Game
I remember September 11, 2001, which was the beginning of the terrorist attack on the Twin Towers, the pentagon, and then in Shanksville, PA. I remember the Twin Tower attack more than the Pentagon or Shanksville. The reason why I remember the Twin Towers more than the Pentagon is because my brother-in-law went to a New York Yankees game the day before the two jet air planes crashed into the Twin Towers.
My brother-in-law took me to a New York Yankees game in New York City. He began the story when we started over the George Washington Bridge crossing the Hudson River. He told me where the Twin Towers used to stand. The tunnel that we went through was awesome because it was a total different world; the lights were orange.
The New York Yankees played the Toronto Blue Jays. Before the game we saw the New York Yankees players pulling in the stadium. They were driving Mercedes, Cadillac’s, and some baseball players got driven to the game. At the game, we sat at the very high upper deck. We were on the first base side. The New York Yankees won the game against the Toronto Blue Jays. I was happy that the Yankees won, and at the opportunity to see were the Twin Towers used to stand.
