Deep in French territory my great, great, great uncle Bill was shooting and at two o’clock Germany gave up for 6 years of hard work they won.  For honor they gave them handkerchiefs that said (survivor De France) 1918  later on when my parents got married soon after Bill died of cancer although his wife lived to be 100 and some years old.  This isn’t very rare because everybody in the war got one, but it is still an historical piece from the past.

Dive

Deep in the shoals, Dante saw something. Now they’re stuck in a sub at 750 feet trying to find the sunken ship, Nuestra Senora de la Luz with a massive eight foot tiger shark in the water with them. There are four interns; Kaz, Star, Adriana, and Dante and Captain Vanover. Captain Vanover lets all the air out of the tanks to lift them to 250 feet.

The four interns broke the hatch.  The air pressure hit them hard but they escaped.  Dante, Kaz, and Adriana come up. Star immediately dropped to save the Captain who was still in the sub sinking.  She managed to get down to him and checked his pulse, nothing.  By the time she started swimming up, she was almost out of air.  On her DECOMP a beeping noise told her she had spent too much time at this depth.  It was no longer safe to return to the surface without getting the Bends.  But all she cared about was getting out alive.  She broke the surface in agenizing pain.

Shoals are the bottom of underwater cliffs.

Bends is when a person goes down slow and comes up fast so there’s no time to adjust to the elevation causing pain.

Kindness Retreat Response

Article posted February 5, 2012 at 06:09 PM GMT0 • comment • Reads 198

What I will remember about the kindness retreat is Sam one of the leaders. His sound affects he made during his stories really helped you learn the true meaning of kindness. The leaders talked about the kindness boomerang and the golden rule- treat others how you want to be treated. My 2 favorite things were the soul train and the rain. It was awesome to learn about kindness. It has impacted me a lot. I hope you have a good year. Bye. By mcd

                                              Habit 6

Synergize; it’s the habit I’ve been working on every day.  I work on it at my friends, at my house, at school and everywhere I go.  This has made me friendlier and I’ve made more friends.   I have done a lot of things to help people. I work on projects with my friends and family.   In my gym class my friends and I synergize by doing team building activities.  Synergizing has made positive changes in my life.    It is a skill that everybody needs to work on, even parents.  When it gets tough, remember the seven habits!

                                 By CDM

In November at the edge of winter’s gate, the chilly journey for all the migrating animals begins.  All the trees are shedding their leaves.  The leaves already on the Earth’s floor allow the critters to hibernate in them. With brutal weather ahead the key to survival is finding the treasures of the woods. Food and shelter is thing all animals must find.  Many animals lie beneath the ground, but still many animals are awake.  The winter is a very powerful season.  Some things may not make it through the winter. Yet the life cycle continues replacing lives. The first snow is spreading fast.   Every animal is getting ready for winter to begin.  Through the deep sleep of winter the creatures dream of; Spring, the singing birds, and the fresh smell of the forest spreading its cheer of the coming season of waking.

The Not So Random Story

Article posted December 5, 2011 at 02:40 AM GMT0 • comment • Reads 147

       The Not So Random Story

One day there was a merchant sailor he played hockey. He likes cookies and he sucks his thumb. One day Dennis went to his friends, but his friends couldn’t speak.  They liked taco salads. One night in the middle of mars there was an alien, he really admires Mount Rushmore. He forced his toy bell to chew his water.  That didn’t go so well.  He had to go to the bathroom so he locked the door, but then he passed out on the toilet.  It ended up the monster under the bed peed his pants so he called the fairly odd parents to help the Wright brother solve the problem, but that didn’t work so they whistled Willy the dog in.  Finnegan was an octopus he thinks trolls are fruit cakes and the crummy top hats they wore rocked. Mr. Lead wasn’t the most popular in the school, not the kind that educates you, but the fish school.  Mr. Lead was more a follower then a leader the flower girl started to notice that he wasn’t a girl. “Luke, come to the dark side”!  Never, but you can take my sucker punch (POW). “Ouch, my air filter broke, you’re going to pay!”

“For what?”

“Broccoli”

I’ll give you Mario Contaminated cholesterol, he is very wise, but his grasshopper wasn’t.  He was electrocuted and made into bacon and sewed it in to a wire cutter.  The porcupine coffee fish’s book mark is a flying taco and rainbows eat butterflies and Frisbees have big windows.  The Heat Lamp Historic Museum is in the deep Amazon Hail Forest. There was a very fluffy plate his name was Darwin. Darwin had never been cleaned since fla’doodle pumpkin pie eating flying HD rollercoaster man eating cousin of the Sasquatch plank board murmuring flappable hamburger with a fly on the side to the east by the light switching uncontrollable in peculiar redonkulusly shopping for underwear that had enough room to put his name on it which smelled like cottage cheese which his catch phrase was “you’re a cotton headed ninymugins”.   “Hay”, you are you a cotton headed ninymugins” said Darwin the narwhal was in the carpet fluffing his pillow.

My Waethering Park

                                                My Weathering Park

My Weathering Park shows the three forces of weathering. The three forces are wind, water, and temperature. See if you can find examples in the diagram and my story.

My Weathering Park window shows how different forces broke down the rock. It did this with Water. Weathering is a powerful agent that changes the earth’s surface.

The tower is an old artifact that is very unstable. The old tower is filled with cool writing.

The weathering that it goes through is; ice, rain, and wind it slowly erodes and even you can’t see it the writing slowly fades away though tough weather.

The entire tower will erode away but for right now it is old and faded. And the world begins to change.

My River Bend Experience

Article posted September 23, 2011 at 01:34 AM GMT0 • comment (3) • Reads 240

The first thing is that River Bend Nature center was our first feild trip .  It is full of fun thing to discover, it is a cool place to go  and filled with lots of adventure .  I peosonaley thought it was awesome.  First, you will take a 2-3 hour hike and you'll get a map and a scavenger hunt. Then on your way you observe the nature all around you and if you walk slow and  were silent you might  find something intresting and cool like; dear , squirrel , and maybe you can find a raccoon.  If you look close you might find a salamander like I did.  There'll be alot of other places to go like; the turtle pond, or the teepee, and the water fall.  The water fall is really cool.  There will be tour guides that show you a spring, a spring is where there is lots of rock in the soil and the rock bottom when the the water comes up out of the ground it takes the iron out of the rocks it makes the water red orange and the guide will also show you sandstone, and limestone.  Sandstone is where there used to beach before Minnesota was land.  All that beach that was by the water was all crammend and smushed for so long that it turned into stone. But the limestone is one of the stones that makes some of the surface on Earth.   Also, there was a gigantic rock that when all of Canada was glaciers the glaciers would break the big chunks of ice would carve the ground and  lakes and rivers that became minnesota's 10,000 lakes. There is lots more, but I don't want to spoil it for you.  I hope you like it and hope you can go and have a great time at River Bend.

Their names are Moe, Treesa, and Hop.  They are very exotic pets.  They eat crickets and moths and most other insects.  There are many different species of tree frogs.  Bye :)
