Gone With The Wind Mary-Alice’s graduation was coming up and it was spring. The tornado siren went off and Mary-Alice escaped from school to go home. She went home to see if grandma was alright. When she got there she grandma told her to go to the cellar in the southwest corner. When grandma got to the cellar she had Bootsie and April. The tacks were coming out of the tar paper on the roof. When it was over they went and surveyed the yard. They went and looked for Old Man Nyquist. He was stuck under a piece hat fell from the roof. She took it off with the crowbar and they started yelling at each other, so they left. They went to go see if Effie Wilcox was alright but she wasn’t there Hey privy was gone too. Then she came walking from somewhere. She said she came from grandma’s house to use her privy because hers is gone. They left and went home. Mary-Alice and grandma cleaned up the yard till dark. On the graduation party she was sitting on the hayframe with Royce McNabb. He said that he would write her letters from the U of I. Mary-Alice told grandma that she wants to stay with her. Her mom and dad want her to come home too. Grandma said she can come visit whenever she wants.
