Caring About the Planet

Why do we care about the environment? What is there to care about in the environment? The things we should care about in the environment are us and animals the fact that we live on this planet. Earth is our home and if we don’t take care of it we will go down with the planet. But is a really big problem right now? Not really but it will be if we don’t take care of the problems we have right now. How far along are to destroying our planet? Not very far so caring about the problems is important. Is doesn’t matter if it doesn’t affect you first hand. So that’s why we should care about the environment.

Himalayas Clean Up

Every year, fourteen kids from all over the world go into the Himalayas to clean up garbage. Where does the garbage come from? When a hiker goes up into the mountains they leave garbage all over the trails and trail ditches. The kinds of garbage are usually non- biodegradable so they just sit there scaring what little wild life is up there. The kids take care of the land for week in exchange for 4000 dollars. It’s a little pricey but it’s worth saving an ecosystem and a great vacation. The villagers in the Himalayas don’t really like the living style that tourists have made for them. When tourists don’t have anywhere to stay almost all the villagers homes are open to shelter. But the village people don’t appreciate how the tourists bring all this waste into the Himalayas then leave it there. So every year, fourteen kids go into the Himalayas to clean up the mess.

Burning fossil fuels= Too much CO2 is the atmosphere= global warming
• Desertification, flooding, freak weather, melting of the icecaps= huge loss of land=
destroyed ecosystem= nowhere to live for humans and animals= destroyed planet.

This summer I’m not doing much. Our family isn’t taking a vacation this year because we just moved. So at the time we can’t afford a family vacation and we don’t really want to take a vacation. One of the things I do want to do though is go biking more. I love biking and I just got a new bike. My bike isn’t really new but it’s new to me! Another thing I want to do this summer is get outside more. I want to get outside more because last summer I wasn’t outside much. Again, this summer I’m not doing much.

If I was a green color I’d say I would be a mid-green color. Why would I be a mid-green color? Because of how environmentally friendly I am. What do I do to be environmentally friendly? I try my best to recycle as much as I can and try to conserve water. To conserve water I try taking shorter showers and I don’t let the water run when I brush my teeth or run water till its cold. Why do I try to be earth friendly? I try because I love this planet; it’s what keeps us alive and it’s also our home. Why is it good to be environmentally friendly? It’s good because it helps our planet and if we help the planet we help ourselves. What shade of green would you be?

But when it decomposes underground it creates methane gas that can’t escape without help, methane gas is also explosive and harmful if inhaled. But methane is also used in a lot of industrial work places. Another thing we do is burn it. But when we burn our trash it releases extremely harmful depending on what we burn. When we burn trash we try to filter the smoke to make sure we don’t release the toxins. Burning trash has its disadvantages. We could recycle a lot of the stuff we burn rather than releasing the toxins they hold when burned. That’s another thing we do with our garbage, we recycle what we can. Recycling doesn’t have many disadvantages. We can reuse the steel from cans and plastic from bottles. We can do a lot of things with our garbage but not many of them are good.

Rainy Days

What do I do on a rainy day, there are three things. One thing I like to do is water color paint. I like to paint pictures of the rain outside using watercolor paints. I find watercolor the best paint to use for panting rain. The second thing I like to do is listen to music. My favorite music to listen to in this situation is Vocaloid music. Vocaloid is music made by a synthetic voice using a program that manipulates a voice to make a synthetic singer. The third thing I like to do is play World of Warcraft. World of Warcraft is a MMO game of warcraft and fantasy. In the game, you can become a priest, mage, warrior, hunter, death night, paladin, shaman, rouge, or a druid. You also choose a race, you can choose from night elf, blood elf, orce, trool, goblin, gnome, human, tauren, undead, dreni, or a werewolf. Those are my favorite things to do on a rainy day.

Kevin Conway in his story Gaia: A medical report suggests two reasons our planet is in trouble. The first reason is there are too many humans. We keep making too many products that have non-biodegradable waste or toxic waste. We also cut down trees for paper, housing and farming space, but when we do this we expose the land to soil erosion. Reason number two is the industrial revolution. We burn fossil fuel that give off harmful gasses. Fossil fuel is also a non-renewable resource. Once its gone; it’s gone forever. So, Kevin Conway is saying that burning fossil fuels and over population is hurting the planet.

What’s my favorite food? My favorite food is sushi. I love the combination of rice and fish is the best taste ever to me. Does where I eat it affect the taste to me? Just a little. If I were to eat it at school I don’t think it would be the best place to eat it because of all the kids who think sushi is gross because It has “raw fish”. The whole “sushi has raw fish” isn’t true only sashimi has raw fish (sashimi is a type of sushi maki rolls are the kind that are wrapped in seaweed). What is my favorite kind of sushi? My favorite kind of sushi is California rolls (maki) and salmon sashimi (yes the one with raw fish). My favorite food is by far sushi!

The mint has said they will no longer be making pennies in Canada. Will it affect us? I don’t really think so, because there are hundreds of thousands of pennies out there. Just because they have stopped does not mean they will disappear. So, it takes more than a penny to make a penny? That makes sense considering the money you would have to spend each day just to melt down the metal and then the power it must take to make those machines work. Will the value of a penny go up a little? To be honest with you I have no idea. So, the penny will stay. They just won’t be new.

Mary Alice is in class when the tornado warning sounds. Mary Alice runs home for grandma. After the storm grandma and Mary go save old man nighquist from being pinned under his caved in roof. Grandma goes to see if Effie is okay too. Mary Alice gets to spend time with Royce after the long day. In the end the day made Mary notice how much she loves grandma and decides to stay with her but grandma tells Mary Alice no but say her door will always be open.

Would you live in space? What would happen if we lived in space? If we were to live in space without gravity all the time our bodies would get weak and our bodies would try to adapt to the life style. Our leg muscle tendons would get shorter from lack of use resulting in constant bent legs. Even our facial features would change. Our noses would get bigger and eyes too. This is why the astronauts we sent into space come back after a while.

Do you like Green Eggs and Ham?
I do love them, Sam i-am I do love them Green Eggs and Ham!
As you can see my favorite Dr. Seuss book is and always will be green eggs and ham. Have I ever eaten Green Eggs and Ham? Yes, I have. In kindergarten to celebrate Dr. Seuss’s birthday we made green eggs and ham buy adding green food coloring to the eggs and ham. It was the best eggs and ham I ever ate because it was green for Dr. Seuss! What’s my favorite part of the book? Well, my favorite part has to be when Sam says “would you eat them in a box? Would you eat them with a fox?” because I love boxes and foxes and when you put them together I can’t help but love it. Now, would I eat them in a box with a fox? Well, no. if I was to eat them with a fox in a contained area I’m not sure it would end well. I love Green Eggs and Ham.

If I could go anywhere in the world what would it be? If I could go anywhere, I would go to Japan. I would go to Japan because I’ve always thought of Japan as one of the most beautiful and amazing places on earth. The way I would prefer to get there is by plane. I would go by plane because I love to fly and always want to know how the sky looks up close and can’t wait till the next time I can fly. What I would do when I get there? I would go to the Mount Fuji Great Lodge and go to a real sushi restaurant. But if I could go anywhere not real I would go to Ouran High, a fictional anime high school from my favorite anime series.

What did I do for fun in the ages between 5 and 10? When I was ten I would bike every day in the summer for fun. The reason I loved biking was because of a hill beside my house. The hill was so long and steep that if I went down it would feel like I was flying. When I was eight I would look at the windows around my house and draw the window. I would draw the window but not what’s behind it. If I saw something I liked behind the window I would draw it but nothing else. When I was six I would just sit with my little brother and play. When I would play with him he would laugh so hard sometimes he would fall over and roll around… my brother was one when this would happen. Thank you for reading.

Everywhere I go I see people with little computers in their hands, texting, checking their Facebook, calling, playing a game, editing, or even video chatting. In the next 20 years I think computers will not get smaller but lighter. If you think about it in all the movies about the future, you don’t see small computers on tiny little desks you see a See-through screen with metal handles on the side. Rather than the ever small computer, I think we will have the see through interactive window. But when will this happen in the next 20 years? From what I can see, it’s not too far away. In the last 20 year we have taken a huge leap forward in time. 20 years ago we were all sitting in front of huge monsters that would get sticky keyboard or freeze when we tried to run a program. But now we have computers that can run well over 10 programs at a time and not freeze or crash they can even do your homework if you wanted. So in the next 20 year the world will be transformed.

I only want three things for Christmas. One thing I want for Christmas is sims3. Sims three is a pc game of simulation. In the Sims games you can personalize your Sim or use a preset, but I always make a custom one. I think the best thing about sims3 is now you can give you Sim a personality. Just so you know, Sims are really humans in the game. The second thing I want is an iPod. We used to have a second I pod that I used but when we moved here we forgot to lock the car and someone stole it. So now I have to use my mom’s but if I get my own my mom won’t get mad at me for taking hers. The last thing I want (and I’m not just trying to look good) is for the world to have peace. I want the world to stop the stupid fighting and the stupid war. I want to feel safe all the time and everyone else to feel safe too. So that is what I want for Christmas.

I think the bravest thing I’ve done is except I live in Battleford. When I moved I left all my friends and family. When I moved I only thought of the good things I left, but then I noticed I also left the bad things. I left my bullies behind and all the anger I had in my life. Now that I live in Battleford I’m focused. What I mean by that is I work harder now that I don’t I don’t have the pressure. I don’t have pressure from the bullies and the teachers that didn’t like. Here I have more of a chance of getting a job. On the reserve were I used to live there was no jobs available and the only place close was a really small town that had no jobs open either for when I got older. Here there are jobs everywhere. So the bravest thing I’ve done is to except.

This Friday writing we are to find out who is playing in the grey cup championship, who will win, and what the name of the trophy awarded to the winner is. What’s the name of the trophy awarded? I’ve already answered that, the Grey cup! The grey cup is named after the governor general Earl Grey. Who are the two teams playing for the grey cup? That would be the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and the BC Lions. Who will win? Okay, don’t know that but I do know that I’m cheering for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers! Because there team is closest to my relatives in Akwesasne. But I love the Saskatchewan Roughriders! Those are my answers.

If I would invent a candy it would be silly beyns! This is how the silly beyn original would have. It would seem like a jelly bean but once you put it in your mouth it starts to have little explosions. Then once you get to the center it would be a long lasting chewy fruit flavor! What’s inside you ask? The jelly bean coating would be filled with little pop-rock like beads that cause the little pops and explosions. The chewy center would be long lasting fruit flavored gum about the size of a Hubba bubba max. But that’s not the only silly beyn I’ve created! Instead of a gum center, an explosion center! Once the jelly bean coating is gone the hard candy, surrounding the explosion center, would have a silly face! And that’s my silly beyns!

What should I be for Halloween? I could be a shadow. As I would lurk around corners people would turn to try to find me but unsuccessful. I would not belong to anyone. I could be a demon angel. If I was a demon angel I would fly over town to terrorize. As I spread my wings people would scream in fear. I could be a doll vampire. You would think I was dead, hiding under beds. I would spring out when not expected to scare in the night! That’s what I’ll be a vampire dolly!

Let’s go to West Edmonton mall. At West Edmonton we could tour the mall. The mall tour includes learning about the sea lions, pirate life’s, and the cool the themes throughout the mall. We could go skating. If we went skating we would be getting the gym class that we would be missing. The best part about west Edmonton mall would be to see the silver city dragon! The silver city dragon is a realistic looking dragon that spits out fire, and it’s completely safe! While we’re at it we could go see a movie. So how bought west Edmonton mall?

What am I thankful for? I am thankful for my education. I have learned how to use growing technology. Without education, I will not be able to get a job in the future. I am thankful for art. I am thankful for the opportunity to learn art and the tools to use during art. But, the thing I am most thankful for is life. Because of the fact I am alive, I try to do the best I can to live it. This is why I am thankful.

My hero is my best friend Jennifer jimmy. Jennifer is always there for me. At my old school I was bullied a lot but Jennifer always told me “don’t worry about it. There all fools anyway.” Even when I moved to Battleford she wouldn’t let me go for one hour without texting her so I wasn’t alone. Jennifer is a big dreamer and I believe she can do too. When she goes to university she wants to become the world’s #1 veterinarian. She even wants to make it illegal to even talk disrespectful about an animal. If there was an award for world’s best friend she would get it. I think that because she’s never mean, and always caring. That’s why Jennifer jimmy is my hero.

I’m going to tell you how to stop a bully. When there’s a bully you can to reason with him/her. Try asking why he/she is bullying the kid. Yu can also try to convince the bully to stop, like doing something else. Here’s one simple word, crowd. Crowd the bully with other people who can or want to help. But never confront a bully by yourself. Tell someone about it. If you can’t or are afraid tell someone who can help. If you’re the one who is getting bullied, get help from someone older like a teacher, school counselor or your parents. These simple things should help stop a bully.

Eating healthy prevents your system from being so gummed by junk food. I’m going to tell you how to eat healthy! The Canada Food Guide is a great way to stay healthy by making good food decisions. The Canada Food Guide is a guide which is full of food suggestions on what to eat. If you have heart disease, it can tell you what is absolutely wrong to eat and what is best for you. In the Canada Food Guide there is a lot of mention of vegetables. In each meal your meal should be half vegetables but the average person is not getting enough vegetables a day because of unhealthy choices put out there. Without vegetables we get a horrible thing called scurvy that shuts down your liver and kidney’s. Water is also something every body’s not getting enough of. Water keeps you hydrated and proses all of the vitamins and minerals gathered. Water is most important. But in the end just stop eating so much junk food!
