Science and Cells!

Science has been really fun. The coolest thing that’s happened is learning how cells reproduce and the reason why I thought this was interesting is because they split in half and that is how they get duplicates of the cell. Another interesting thing is that cancer is when cells divide and reproduce uncontrollably. I also know that bacteria cells don’t have nucleoid and viruses are like parasites because they both require a host to survive. Antibiotics are useless against viruses. One more thing, a prokaryote lacks a nucleus and a eukaryote has a nucleus.

This is my poem:
"The Worm"
About half an inch
inside the apple
through the swaying red bridge
above the rolling green hills
across the ocean
against the breeze on a new years eve
around the trunk
without the apple no worm
inside the apple
about half an inch
That is my poem don't ask me where I got the idea from but I just felt like doing a poem about a worm in an apple.

My book I am currently reading is called "Circle of Magic" by Tamora Pierce. I really like my book it is about four kids who can do magic and they are learning how to use their powers. My book is full of excitement and adventure. The only bad thing about it is that sometimes the book seems to drag and get boring, but other than that this book is really good and I love it. My book is the third book out of four books and I’m exited to read the last book. I am exited because it will tell you about the most interesting character in the book. His name is Briar and his past is really interesting I think that you should read these books.

Even though I sometimes don't like science I think that it's very important because, today we learned about germs and if we didn't have science we wouldn't know about germs and how they get spread.
With out science we would not have all the medicine and anti-bacterial things to keep us safe. Without science we would still be dieing at the age of 30. Thanks to science we have medicine and we live to the age of 80-98.

Love is very powerful.

The title probably gave you a hint as to what I am writing about, this quote from Martin Luther King Jr. "Love is the only force capable of transforming an enemy into a friend." I really like this quote. You should always love your enemies. you have seen in so many movies where the good guy tried to show his enemy compassion but the enemy refused. You have also seen in movies where the enemy took that compassion and love and became friends with the good guy. I just want to say just because they are your enemy don't just start to hate them give them a chance and show them compassion because everyone deserves a chance. Just like my mom she was threatened to be beat up in middle school but in high school she was best friends with them.

I haven really thought about the new year but as Mrs. Lubich said now is a good time to start. So my first goal is to get all A's this semester. My second goal is to find a french horn and trombone duet because my brother plays the trombone and he has been gone for two years in Italy and the reason why it's so important to get a duet is because my brother left before I started playing an instrument. So it will be very exiting to finally get to play with him. now my third goal for this year is to start seeing my sister more. She only lives 15 min away from my house but ever since I joined color guard I haven't been able to see her as much but we found out that we will be able to see each other every Thursday so I'm really exited for that.

Poetry Wiki!

The poetry wiki was really fun but I admit that sometimes I didn't want to go and do the poetry. I thought that it was really cool to be able to talk, communicate, and work with people from Louisiana. I didn't like how you would decide something for the group then a group member just decided something totally different and you can't do what you want to do. For example I told the group six times that I was going to record the first two stanzas of the poem but when I came back the next day a group member had already done it so I ended up doing the middle of the poem. Other than that I thought that the poetry was fun.

Greek Stuff!!

There are five Greek city-states which are, Athens, Sparta, Argos, Corinth, Megra. Megra wouldn't take sides with the Athens or the Spartans so the Spartans declared war on the Athens. I know that Sparta was a brutal city-state. They would take young boys and start to train them to be warriors.
In class we put 3 goals on a paper and then Mrs. Gagnon looked at them and decided how many points each team member gets. Then we had to make a logo, a cheer, and a hand shake. Then we had to present them to the class and we got points for that too.

I think I'm going to write about Christmas. I want to write about it because it's a joyful and fun holiday.
during Christmas you do get presents and that is probably what most people look forward to during Christmas. There is another thing to look forward to it is the giving away of the presents. I really enjoy giving presents to my family and seeing how happy it makes them and it makes me happy to know that I can make my family happy.

Here are just a few things I am thankful for.
I am thankful for my family because, if I didn't have my family I really wouldn't be here right now. My family is everything to me they feed me and pay for my clothes and a place for me to live. The second thing I am thankful for are my friends. I am thankful for my friends because they will understand things that no one else can understand. The third major thing I'm thankful for is my brother, my brother is my hero. He helps me in everything and he is always there for me. My brother is always willing to help and go beyond what you asked for. He is always out there doing the right thing. As you can see I am most thankful for my family.
