So we have been learning about microbiology in science. It’s been fun. We’ve learned how a cell works, and their organs, organelle, what they do, and how they get their food, and their life circle. It was fun learning about how they work, and what they look like. It was very fun to look at them through the microscope, and learning what different cells look like under the microscope. it was weird to learn about cancer and genetic mutations.

About the Room

About the Room
Around the room, among the room
Through the chairs, under the desks
Up the wall, to the high white ceiling
Past Spencer and Spencer
Into the window, by the squirrely children
Towards the thick doors, of wood
Over the black thin laptop
With a willing fun teacher
Across the dull rug
Below the fluffy white clouds
Across the long hallways, from door to wall
Near the math room, inside M.R.M.S.
With friends of friends
Behind the colorful posters
Of poems and poems
On the plain wall
About this room, of rooms

My book

I finished my book. It was a great ending. I’m hoping the author will revisit the subject, but if he does, it probably won’t be for a couple years. Ok, the last words of the series were “We are not alone.”I think that was a great ending. The author started writing the series at 15 and has been working on it for 12 years. The title of the book was Inheritance. I never really made time to read, so in order to read, I had to lock myself in my room for the weekends. It was an absolutely fantastic book.

My books

Lately I’ve been reading two books. I just finished one, called Inheritance, by Christopher Paolini. I liked all the suspense and that everything went into deep detail and how everything is worked in ways that are unimaginable, like the dragons, they work in ways that in the real world we only dream about. The other book, I just started. This one’s called Eragon, by Christopher Paolini the first book in the series. I decided to reread the series because I wanted to get more out of the books. I like how everything is a secret and nothing is known.

My interpretation on a quote

I chose Theodore Roosevelt’s quote “Believe and your half way there.” I think this means that believing is only half of the doing, that the other half is the doing it. I could apply this to my life by believing that I can do stuff, all sorts of stuff. Like participating in school. This could have a positive effect on someone’s life by giving them confidence by believing that if they can do, they can do it. If everyone could believe that they could do, the whole world could have a confidence boost therefore no one would homeless and we wouldn’t be fearful to ask people for stuff, like a world peace treaty.

My goals for 2012 are simple, but do have work involved. My goals are to a better student at school, and to be more aware of how what I say affects people. My first goal will involve me changing how engaged I am in school, do better work, and to do great work on homework. The second goal involves me thinking about what I say before I say it and know when I’ve said something bad.

My reflection on the poetry project

My project went smoothish, but it was also rough. Working in a group this way was fun, but also hard. Most the communication went smooth, but there were some misunderstandings. I think that we could have done our video differently. The things that went well were that we all got along, we got lots of information, and we did our works sited good. I would have started our video sooner and made what stanza I was doing clearer. I would have done everything else the same. I think you could improve this project by maybe giving more time to complete it, but I thought it was lots of fun other then the time limit.

What I know about Greece

I don’t really know much about Greece, but here is what I do know. What I know about Greece is that there were five city-states that were part of Greece. I know that Sparta and Athens were the most powerful city-states and the other city-states always tried to outdo Sparta and Athens. They treated their women with little respect and often went to war.
In class we are doing many things with Greece and the city-states. We have started to create logos, handshakes, and chants in class. We also have started the escorting. That is all we have done on class.

Mrs. G

I chose to do Mrs. G’s blog. The favorite book that I’ve read this year is called Inheritance. I detest the character called Nasuada. I dislike her because she will follow orders even if it means death. I would change how she does follow orders, so she would be more willing to save comrades than follow her mission rules. I don’t think any of the characters represent real people. No, nothing about a particular character seems to relate to the authors true personality. Here is the writing prompt I chose to write about. “Think about the books you have read this year. Which one is your favorite? Is there a character you hate/detest/despise? Why? What traits could you change about the characters that would change how you think about them? Do you think that any of the characters represent real people? Does anything about a particular character seem to be related to the author's true personality--who the writer is? Respond to this blog by posting a blog of your own. A good response before 12/8/11 is worth 10 points. Be sure to proofread before posting.”

I am really thankful that I have a house to live in and a family to share it with. I am thankful that I have good educators that know what they are doing. I am thankful for modern medicine. I am thankful for my house because it gives shelter to my family and me. I’m thankful for my family because they help me become better, and let me know when I am wrong. I’m thankful for good educators because without a good teacher gives a good education and a good education is everything. I am thankful for modern medicine because it helps relieve pain and shortens the life of colds. There are many things to be greatful for, and uncountable reasons to be greatful. These are just a few items and reaons to be greatful.
