Seventh Grade

Article posted May 16, 2012 at 06:43 PM GMT • comment • Reads 815

Seventh grade was a lot of fun! I thought that this was the best year so far. I was happy we could participate in after school sports now. I thought I was successful in my grades and sports. I learned that I’m good at math and science. I also learned that I need to work harder at L.A. and Humanities. I probably would have been more organized. I found my papers but, it was a lot harder than it should have been. In eighth grade I want to keep doing the things I have been in seventh grade. For the next year’s seventh graders I would say to turn in all your work on time, because after a while it starts building up and it’s hard to get back on track. Also I think that you should do all your blogs, they are worth a lot of points. Good Luck next years seventh graders!

Internation Towne!

Article posted May 10, 2012 at 06:38 PM GMT • comment • Reads 484

I think that International Towne was very fun. We learned a lot. One thing was different currencies can have different amounts of money but they all could be equal. You could have 10 PacAsia notes and 20 AmeriLat notes but they are equal. One thing that I would change is our time. We need a longer break time, but the actual work time was good. One other thing that I would change would be the amount of people per job. For example I was a Finance Minister. When people would take their breaks other people would have to take over even if they didn’t know the jobs. I had to start selling stuff, even though that wasn’t my job, so that would be the other thing that I would change. My favorite part was having our breaks and getting our money. It was fun being able to bring things back from International town. I think that International Towne was a lot of fun.

World History Fair

Article posted May 2, 2012 at 08:49 PM GMT • comment • Reads 574

For my project my guiding question was: Why was the building of the temple of Artemis important to the Greeks. The most interesting part about the temple was that it was a wonder of the world. Also it was so important to the Greeks that every time something happened to it, it was rebuilt. The temple of Artemis was built for the goddess Artemis. It was built in Ephesus. Today people visit the site where there are some ruins. Also there are some ruins in museums. Learning about this today shows how people acted back then compared to now.

During the world history fair I learned a lot of things. One thing I learned was about the Trojan horse and the Trojan War. I learned that the Trojans made a horse and presented it as a gift to their enemies. It was so the soldiers could sneak in to fight. I also learned a little about Pantheon. It was a very big building. The Romans built it and when they did they made it in a dome shape with a hole in the roof. So that made it energy conservative. I learned a lot at the world history fair, this is just some!

Seedfolks

Article posted May 1, 2012 at 10:18 PM GMT • comment • Reads 538

I think that Seedfolks is ok. I find the format a little weird. I feel like you just start getting what their explaining and then it’s a new person.  I think this book is about people who are making gardens in one big plot. A little girl started the whole garden with just a couple seeds. The character that I dislike is Wendell.  I dislike him because he just seems lazy and kind of boring. This week I found the activities very fun.  One of my favorite ones was planting the tomatoes. I can’t wait to see which one grows faster. I also thought making the flowers were fun! These were my favorites because they were more hands on. Even though these were my favorite I enjoyed them all.

My Project

For my humanities project I am doing the Temple of Artemis. Finding my research went very smooth. There was a lot more to the temple of Artemis than I thought! My final project is coming along great! For my 3D project I am doing a Papier Mache temple. I’m almost ready for May 1st. At first I thought it would be too much to handle but it has been going good so far! I can’t wait to see other people’s projects.

We are the Patriots!  We got our uniforms already and I’m #6. I’m playing against one of my friends but, we’ll have fun.  I like my new coach, he is very nice. I just can’t wait till we start games. I also started volleyball. My coach is so nice. Her sister is on the team, and we work together good. I like the rest of my team too. I can’t wait till my next practices!

Chicken Wings

Article posted April 2, 2012 at 11:08 PM GMT • comment • Reads 682

We were dissecting chicken wings to learn about how things work, like tendons and ligaments. A chicken wing is like us, some of the things work the same way. I thought at first it seemed a little gross but then after I started that wasn’t so bad. It was cool that you could make the chicken wing move by pulling one part of it. I think it was worthwhile. You can actually see what you are learning in books in a dissection. I learned a lot in this experiment starting with how each system works. I had a lot of fun!

I Wish...

Article posted March 20, 2012 at 12:00 AM GMT • comment • Reads 588

I wish

    I was a lion

    King of the jungle

    With my loud roar

    No one would dare

    Push me around

I wish

    I was a fish

    Carefree swimming in the water

    With little fins

    That push me forward

    Through the ocean

I wish

    I was an eagle

    Soaring through the air

    Going from sea to sea

    High in the air

With no one to stop me

Ernest Green

Article posted March 14, 2012 at 10:24 PM GMT • comment • Reads 610

I thought that trying to keep the coloreds out of white schools was cruel. No one deserves that treatment. Also just because of someone’s color doesn’t mean that they should not get the same things. Truthfully I would like to thing that I would be able to have courage to continue on but, I don’t think I would have been able to do what Ernest and others did. I think that there should not be discrimination but there still is today. Some instances could be picking for a job or playing a game, picking a team mate. I think that everyone deserves the same treatment not matter what race.

Theodore Roosevelt

Article posted March 3, 2012 at 01:55 AM GMT • comment • Reads 678

“Believe you can and you're halfway there.”

Theodore Roosevelt

When you’re studying for a test,

Trying your best,

Or practicing sports,

Playing on courts,

Try your best,

And you’re even closer to being above the rest,

When you’re taking a test,

Doing your very best,

Or playing sports,

Running on the courts,

If you have a great attitude,

You’ll go great latitude.
