It's finally the end of the year! I think 7th grade was a really fun time but filled with lots of drama. It was easy to do the in class work because it didn't take very long to do. It was harder to remember to turn in the homework. I learned that it's important to always get your work done on time. I also learned that its good to pick good people to hang around because they effect how you work. I would change the amount of homework that we had to do because sometimes we had alot. Something I'd ike to do in 8th grade is have lots of fun since it will the last year of middle school.
For next year's 7th graders, stay around people who like you for who you are and don't change yourself for attention or to get different friends.

International Towne was very fun. I think it was interesting to learn what it would be like to have to actually sell stuff. I learned that selling what you have may not always be easy because of people not wanting what you have and wanting something that someone else had. My country was close to the bank so we saw lots of people that we convinced to buy stuff from us. If I could change anything it would be the break times. I would make the break times longer so people wouldn't have to rush to buy stuff. I think the best part was serving as president because we got to wear the the funny wigs and decide if citizens were guilty or inoccent.

My guiding question was: Why was Ramses II such an important person? I learned that he was important because for one he was a pharaoh and that means he ruled over Egypt. Another thing is he made some very important decisions that impacted Egypt and he won some very important wars. He also made a peace treaty with another part of Egypt. I also found out that he was married to a lot of women and had lots of children.
Something I learned from other people’s projects is that some people put A LOT of work into something that wasn’t even seen very much and was only put up for an hour and a half. Some people who were very artistic or creative had very good 2D or 3D displays.

I think the big idea of the book Seedfolk is that people shouldn’t judge each other and get to know the people in their neighborhood and show that people can make a difference in each other’s lives. I liked mostly all the characters because they each have a different view about how they see the garden and the people and how they come to liking and looking forward to going to the garden and seeing the people. During the week we had to do several different activities. My favorite was in art because we got to make paper that had seeds in it. We also got to make pots and plant seeds in them, but mine fell apart. ):

My topic is why Ramses II was so important. I found out that during his lifetime several wars went on that he was involved in that were important. I also found out then he ended up ruling over all Egypt. My final research project is coming on along fine. It's going easy to answer my topic question. I'm looking forward to showing off what I've put together.

We dissected chicken wings before break for science class. I thought it was gross because the chicken wing was squishy and raw. I learned that there are lots of things in our bodies that connect to help us to move. In the chicken, when we had cut it open, we saw the two bones in the wing that moved the front part and a person in my group was moving them and it looked like the wing was kicking the air. It was very funny!

I was suprised that people treated black people so badly back then. Nowadays people aren't treated as bad and you see them mostly hanging around white people without a problem. I wouldn't have been able to stay as long as the rest of The Little Rock Nine did and I think I would have left the first day and not have gone back because I would not have been able to deal with so many people acting so rudely to me. Things have changed because people now are okay with being around other people who are a different race.

Science has been really fun with learning about micro-science. Looking at the different cells under the microscope was probably the best part because you got to see the cells moving around but it kinda sucked that we had to document everything right after we enjoyed seeing it.

I am currently reading a book called Extras by Scott Westerfeld for enrichment class. I have really been enjoying the book so far. I think it's exciting reading about the main character, Aya, and all the descisions she's deciding to make and the adventures she's getting along the way. It's a great book!

In humanities we've been doing the Greek chapter. It's been really fun learning about acient Greek and learning about Greek gods and goddesses. What was even funner was getting into different city-states and compeating for points. It made the classroom very intense, especially the debating. Finding out who won in the end was very exciting as well.

Some tools that poets use in their poems to create effects could be beat, rythm, and expression. The beat could get someone excited about reading the poem or make them feel the sadness of the poem. Rythm makes poems fun to read because it gives you something to go along with, for example, if you have a poem and no words that ryme then it might not make it very fun to read. Expression gives poems excitment. When poets use expression it would make the reader use expression while reading it aloud.

I thought the poetry wiki was pretty fun. It was pretty easy to search information about my poet but it was harder to find poems about him. I think our video was pretty good and it wasn't too hard to put together.

Some goals of mine for this year are to keep all my stuff turned in on time and to be to class on time. I also have a goal to keep getting good grades. They involve change because I will have to keep my attitude changed in a positive way to make sure they are fulfilled.

I don't know very much about Greece but I find it interest. I know it had many different city-states and that they worshiped gods.
In class we have different city-state teams and we do activities to compeate for points. We can also get more points for having our area clean and for the fates.

I decided to blog about one of my favorite TV shows, Bones. It's one of my favorites because I think it's really interesting and funny. It has crime scenes and bodies and interesting ways of how people die. That's why it's one of my favorite TV shows.

Some things I am thankful for are my family, my friends, and school. I'm thankful for my family, especially my grandfather because lots of kids don't have families and my grandfather is 88 years old and he was in World War 2. I'm thankful for my friends because whenever something's wrong they're always there to help me through it. I'm thankful for school because I get to get a good education in a good school when most kids don't have school. Those are the things I'm thankful for.

One of my favorite mysteries was the one about the car because I thought it was interesting even though it was weird and creepy.
I think a good short story could be about a person loosing something important to them and going crazy looking for it. Then it would be fun for them to end up finding out their little sibling had taken it without asking.

I really like blogging. I haven't had any problems with it. I think blogging is easier than writing assignments because it's really easy for me to type. I think students should get to take a vote on what they want to write about so it's more interesting for people to do blogs.

Our country is important. That's a big reason lots of people faught to protect it. There's reasons why we should remember the people who did it and what they did. I'm going to share a few reasons on why I think it's important to always remember what was done for us.
That was my introductory paragraph. Any suggestions on how to make it better?

I read about a football star who's life was changed. He was tackled and his spine was broken and he wasn't able to move anything under his shoulders after that. He almost died twice in two days. After he recovered he suffered from depression and in an attempt to cheer him up his dad took him to a high school football game where they witnessed a guy who had broken his spinal cord, just like him. In months a nonprofit organization was born that helps athletes who are injured. I think this is a good idea because there are lots of athlets that get injured and don't worry about it because they believe they are fine until something bad happens. With this organization it can help lots more athletes.

I've read a book called Eclipse by Stephanie Meyer. She is one of my favorite authors and i loved reading her series. The main characters are Edward and Bella and they are madly in love. The problem is Edward is a vampire and Bella is not and she wants to be one. But their problems always get solved with their love for each other.

Once upon a time there was a little pig. He was named Willy. Willy wasn't just any pig, he was special. For one, he liked to eat bacon and ham. Also, he could fly! Willy loved flying, he loved flying everywhere. Unfortunatly, people didn't like that he could fly, and tried to eat him. Willy ran away (more like flew away) to a magically island called Neverland. He met losts of friends there and met a girl pig named Sally Sunshine who happened to liked eating bacon and ham too. They had little baby pigs, but they got hungry and mad one day so they ate them. Then they ate each other. Now the rest of the island will no longer live in fear of Sally and Willy Sunshine. Everybody else lived happily every after.

Both of the guys who do the math a different way are wrong. They make it seem like they're right by adding and multiplying the math in a different way. The woman did it wrong because she multiplied 5 by 20 and 5 by 1 and added those two. Another problems that works with their math is 4 muliplied by 15 to get 24. It's really 4 by 6 but with they way they do it, it would be 15.

I thought the field trip was really fun! My favorite part was doing the team games because it made us have to work together and listen to each other and be around people you usually weren't around. I learned that natural selection is important because it helps balance out everything, like animals over-populating. I think the best part was before we left and we had a chance to just be with our friends and pick an activity to do.

For Banned Books Week we all have different opinion on it. I think people should have their own choice on weither they want to read a book or not because it's not up to one or two people to decide what books should be okay for everyone else. Books shouldn't be banned because there are people out there that do like a certain type of book that other people might not like. Also, since different people have different opions, what is wrong to one group of people could be right to another. That's why I think that the people who read that type of book should decide what they think about the genre they read.

One funny thing that has happened to me was one night when my mom made me go upstairs to get something out of her room. It was dark upstairs and all the lights were off so I couldn't see anything. I was texting and I thought her door was open so then I ran into her door and dropped my phone. It was really funny but it kind of hurt. :/

I think the assembly was needed and effective. Needed because it could change the way people are thinking about each other. Effective because it makes people want to be a part and make a difference in other people's life. What I took away from this experiance is that everybody does things for a reason, like things are going bad at home, or they may not have friends at school and it might lead them to bully other people to let out their pain. What I will change is giving everyone a chance, and trying to get to know them better or help them make new friends.
