TaylorH -- My Dogs (Prepositional Poem)

Article posted February 15, 2012 at 11:03 PM GMT • comment • Reads 4992

Inside the small house, up the stairs, in my room, under my bed.

Inside the white coat, with her friend, in the black.

Away from the storm, inside their sweet dreams, of chasing rabbits, through the forest.

Back to reality, out from under the bed, out of the small house, to chase some real rabbits instead.

Hayley -- Prepositions

Article posted February 21, 2012 at 03:16 AM GMT • comment • Reads 1251

On the hanger against the wall,
On the white rack above the ground,
Below the white ceiling in my room,
Near the green, dusty chalkboard behind the full bookcase,
Under the shiny, clear mirror near the bright blue T-shirt,
Beside the white sweater above the lined papers,
Across from the picture-filled door near the spontaneous books,
with a zipper.

BenS -- The Forest Fire

Article posted February 20, 2012 at 08:37 PM GMT • comment (1) • Reads 876

From blaring alarm
Into the fierce forest fire
From many rugged miles
Into the fiery flames

Around the black-faced firefighters
Inside the fire blanket
Outside the boiling air
With fiery flames and rubble

Without a chaotic sound
On top of the rubble
Without a joyful laugh
On the firefighters shock face
With grave looking expressions

From the tired firefighters
To the blackened earth
Without a crawling creature
In the destroyed sight

Brock -- Football 24/7

Article posted February 20, 2012 at 10:04 PM GMT • comment • Reads 555

At dawn
before light
for early wake
with rain, snow, and wind
as working as hard as you can
to be the best of the best
across the horizon
to have that sweet smell
of no one more dedicated than you
behind the scenes, for your team
for victory
beside adversity
among the mess
for the trust
to be on top and number one in the end!

outside the rusty barred metal window
with the cold frosty bone chilling breeze
over the salty overlapping waves
on the soft sweet smelling grass
within the fluffy snow white ever changing clouds
above the soaring white birds
beneath the crystal sparkling surface
with the sparkling scales
of the speedy fretful fish
across the sparkling light
to th bright gleeming flashing lights
above the musical lights
in the chaos black night
outside the gleaming stars
on the piece of tasty cheese
withing the cell
around me

Jazmine -- Beneath The Ocean

Under the sea
Below the sky
Against the sun
Down deep in the ocean
At the very bottom
In a oyster
Inside is a beautiful pearl
Beyond the horizon
Beneath the ocean
Within a oyster
In the oyster
Despite the pearl
On the pearl
With dimondes inside
Against the treasure chest
Near gold and silver
Beneath the ocean

Across the very quiet meadow
Below the squeaky wooden bridge
Around the dark and cold bear cave
Past the loud flowing river
Down the rocky path
Behind the tall trees
Through the thorny rose bushes
Around the corner
Between the rocks
Up the steep hill
Over the rainbow
Down the steep hill
Toward the flowing lake
Behind the waterfall
Into the green woods

Kalee -- Chocolate <3

Article posted March 15, 2012 at 09:54 PM GMT • comment • Reads 779

Inside the school,

down the love filled hallway,

during Language Arts,

on the most special day.

In the silvery, heart covered wrapper,

despite the taste,

among the secretive heart.

Within the chocolaty goodness,

beside me,

around the heart-shaped candy,

without the rich and creamy solid heart.

Before the candy-melting sun,

into my anxious mouth,

beyond delicious,

for the chocolate.

Dart -- Around the Bend

Article posted February 23, 2012 at 12:39 AM GMT • comment • Reads 663

[around the bend] [past the busy cheerful streets]

[through the optimistic park] [across the street]

[towards the great plains] [to the east]

[into taxi number two] [to a forbidden place]

[near a dark lake] [out of the yellow taxi cab]

[around the deep lake] [through giant jagged rocks]

[of grey and black hue] [over the dark mystic hill]

[in the dark caverns below] [along the crooked tunnels]

[until the sky goes ghostly black] [over the broken splintered ladder]

[into the dusty ominous row boat] [on the tainted sea]

[under the pulsation of lightning] [around the great raging waves]

[of death] [to the lost island]

[with black poisoned sand] [towards the wicked god-forsaken cliffs]

[with the black rain] [around your muddy face]

[with terrible twisted fear] [to the lightning-struck top]

[without a single word] [about the powerful wind]

[to your undeserved grave]

Here is my poem consisting only of prepositions:

Among Fleas

Within the big, expansive, endless darkness of the Universe…

Across from the bright red Sun
Beyond the big white Moon
Within the whole wide world
Above the bright green continent
Beneath the big square state
On the crowded block
Inside the little house
Between the attic and basement
Below the living room ceiling
Atop the hardwood floor
Near the dirty dust
With the old, tired, lumbering, big shaggy hound dog…

Beside the other fleas.

At the door
near the end
by the bright colors
by the happy teacher
under the boreing roof
beyond the many people
before the horizen of the school
by the others
inside the little building
inbetween the two walls
among the children
on top of the floor
before the feeling
with the feeling
at the door

Of the Selvam'
Above the dining room
Through the window
On Valentine's Day
Across from my mirror
Around the room
From my mirror
From IKEA
Inside it's orange
Around the room
Past my bed
Against the wall
For the pictures
Among them all
Past my closet
With no damage done ;)

Around the clock
on the wall
from dawn until dusk
during the day
over and over it goes
through all the hours
inside the house
out on the road
through the fields of time
toward the end
on store shelves
behind the glass
with you until the end
up on top of all.

Below the blue sky
On the hot, plastic turf
Down a long field, to a wide goal
Toward the white and black shiny ball
Off the crossbar
Along the out of bounds line
Through the net, into the goal
Despite the other team
On the other side of the field
During the game
Beyond the tough defense
Past the big goalie

Within itself,
beside the red, hot salsa,
under the orange, Mexican cheese,
over the tomatoes,
like a big beast,
above the shell,
in the mouth,
out the side,
near the round plate,
as yellow,
before starvation,
against the cooked, yummy, dark meat,
along the lettuce,
beneath the onions,
by the dark misty night,
without a sound,
out tonight.

The Blue Bird

Above the tall green tree
against the big blue sky
on top of a soft white cloud
from north to far south
despite the freezing cold and warm sun
between the earth and space
inside the big wide clearing
by the yellow sun
around the world again
among the living things
as small as you and me
across the great prarie
along the blowing wind
pver the dusty valley
past the great blue ocean
without a knowing view
near a fast passed breeze.

At Taco Bell, in the very back
Near the drive thru, behind the employee sink
Against the purple and yellow wall, in the corner
With a cold stainless steel handle, behind the heavy door
In the very back, behind the frozen cheese
Under the quesadilla, near the cold ice
Next to the corner, in s blue container
With the delicious tacos

Inside the chewed up face
infront of the docked tail
near the metal linked fence
across the empty lot
above the cement
below the sunny blue sky
by the dried water bowl
in the dead heat of Cailfornia
among the yard discared
inside the Pit's body
among the colored organs
beside the junk car
behind the sidewalk
between a cruel world and freedom

Beneath the blue sky,
Behind the shed,
Around the field,
Inside the stall,
Up in the hay-loft,
With the barn cats,
Within the dry shelter,
Among the big herd,
Near his companions,
At the big barn,
Past the little pond,
Between the many trees,
By the cool, trickling brook,
In the flowery meadow,
Under the shady trees.

Isaac -- Earth (As I saw it that day)

Article posted February 15, 2012 at 02:09 AM GMT • comment • Reads 789

Earth By Isaac

Below the decaying atmosphere, on the colorless land;

Above the dry ground, across the withered mountains’

Over the water-less river, beyond the flat hills;

Though the long dead fields, towards the centralized center;

After the fall of the dying sun, during the dark and all-powerful night;

Behind the deepest evil, before the highest happiness;

Past the gray forests, beneath the foreboding stars;

On earth

P.S just in case you want to judge my personality using this poem my life was screwed up the day I wrote this

Silence in the School

Among the instruments in the band room.
Through the empty hallways among the class rooms.
By the high stairs and the quiet foyer.
Inside the office and across the large school.
Past the open front and beyond to the green field.
Below the blue sky and above the rich Earth.
From the small portables and down the infinite track.
For there with silence in the silent school.
The only thing that bothered me is that I accidentally set it up to be with silence but that’s it.

Within the green woods
Near the ancient cities of China

Over deep mountain ranges filled with trees

With big eyes and oreo-colored fur
at the zoo
past the pond
across the valleys

into the wilderness
among the vast land
beside his bamboo

On my desk with the lined paper
By the white eraser

From the busy office store
Off the desk, onto the carpeted floor

Among the red pens
Beside the blue

Along the worksheet
Without super smooth motion

Through this crazy poem
During a long, exhausting paragraph

For its owner to make the grade
Despite the hard, demanding work

Over the paper
During the busy school day

Inside the boring living room

Off my mind

In my bordom

Out go my shoes

Below this big blue sky

Under the flat roof

Through the widing hallway

Into my sisters room

Down the steep stairs

Inside my T.V room

As bland

As could be

By my big blue kitchen

Underneath th stars

Out th boring house.

Through the front door, over the living room carpet,
Up the winding staircase, under that old fishing net.
Around the wooden chair, across the long hall,
Up into the vent, out through the wall.
Toward the bathroom, on the sink,
Above the dog, among the toys that tink.
Beyond the bathroom, after the old shed,
Into my bedroom, in the little cats bed.

This is the preposition poem that I created.

During my free time
In the bright, dull afternoons
Over the long and short weekends
After school
With all my friends
Past the wide, bright meadow
Beneath the clouds
Before delicious food
On the grass
On the slippery court
Near many tall and short people
Under a ceiling
With shoes
Without warm, fuzzy socks
Inside a big house
By a younger blond-haired sister
At night
In the dim, colorful morning
During the hot day
Up the stairs
Down the bumpy, not steep hills
For a long time
On the wide ground

Inside the gym,

Past the large crowd,
Toward the bench.

Down you Ready for the game,
Then the crowd sounding,
Up with their commotion.
Into the night,
On the wood floor,
Against one another,
Beyond competitiveness.

Toward no place
Past the end
And went no further.

Inside the plastic tube he is stuck
Between rolls of fat
Beyond all that flab
Inside Augustus is crying for his dad

On the snow of the mountain down the slope through the trees

Over the steep jump down the steep hill into the long line

Up the long vibrating lift off the lift onto the dreaded ice

Toward the softer, better snow under the glowing stars

During the cold, lightly snowing night beside fellow skiing friends

On top of the world on top of the mountain.

For the beautiful girl on this very day
At 9 o'clock during the bitter chilly night

Until the beautiful blink of sunrise for rolling the dough

With a fun-filled awesome gal

Above the neck, in the brain
Near the idea of social-status mattering
Despite words from their parents
Through the lugubrious insults of fellow classmates

Toward the simplistic realm, of inner thoughts
Along the passage way, to inner and outer peace
Beyond the realm, of actual and mental realization
Of life's inner meaning

Above the sprinkles

Across the melty-chocolate chips

After taking a bite-

Against my diet!!!

Along the path my hand takes to deliver ice-cream to my mouth

Among ice-cream

Around the whipped cream

As I swirl the ice-cream

On a spoon

At the top of the cherry

Before strawberry passion

Behind sweet, savory vanilla

Below smooth, mouth-watering chocolate

Downing bowls of ice-cream!

My poem is about the ceiling. I did my poem about the ceiling because it was an easy topic and it follows me so I dont have to go to a specific stop to write about it.

Up on top
of this big old box
over the tall grassy hills
above the winding walls
to open and close
off  the poluted world
against the wild wind
past the wide windows
along the halls
for us way
over here
for you all the way
over there
inside this musty old building
over the tall chairsalong the wide walls
past the grassy hills
to sheild us
from the blinding sun
during the long day
at this big old school.

Behind the barn
Near a pile of smelly hay
Around the small, frail chicken
Over the dead, brown grass
Over the large bumpy green hill
With black and white spots everywhere
There lays the big black and white cow
Among all the lazy, old barn animals
Before the hot, yellow, bright sun
Across from her lays her small young calf
Beyond the city in the country
Like a bear in hibernation
As the lazy cow stretches to wake up
Near the den of the mother hen
Through the crops the cow lays
Along the side of the old barn
Past all of the city
There the cow lies

The Goal

With the black biscuit, down the Olympic size rink, toward the net,

by dangling one after another, as the skates

beneath him, while spraying shaved ice,

across the ice rink, into the crowd, as the rumble starts, in the crowd,

on the blue line, before the net,

for the perfectly saucered shot, between the goalies leg pads,

into the net.

During the game,
off the huge stands, in the gym.
Past two long minutes, within the players, on the court, near the hoop, under the stands. In the basket, down Lakers! down Lakers!
Except the ball, through the basket,
at the other end.Except the buzzer, out of time. Down Nuggets.

behind the wall of lockers
beyond the row of classrooms
under the creaky floorboards
inside the ventilation system
above the janitor's closet
despite the silence
through the vent
into the empty gymnasium
over the teacher's office
out the back door
across the large parking lot
down the street
up and over the fence
across the tiled walkway
through the sliding glass door
into the cozy bedroom
without making a sound

A Magician's Life
By: Michael

Around the magician,
Beyond his vision,
Toward his hands,
At the table,
With playing cards.

Before his performance,
In his heart,
despite his doubts,
behind a prayer rests.

Without an assistant,
During his show,
Along the stage,
Above his audience.

Like a brave soldier,
After his performance,
Within his head,
With thanks the Lord,
Beside his bed.

Through the brown door,

At my cool, huge school,

Above nothing,

Below nothing,

Beside the noisy blue band hallway,

Across from the noisy drama room,

Near the smelly lunch room,

With the fun gym teachers,

During the day,

With many kids,

Of green, purple and smelly clothes,

Until the very end,

Of the day,

With all the kids,

Between the walls.

The World

By: Jared

Across the deep blue ocenm

Beyond the beutiful horizon

Over the rolling hills

past the dark creepy wondery jungle

towards North

up the skyscraping mountains

above the heavily lit clouds

out of this mystifying fantastic world

into the dark empty space of space

On the rings of Saturn

around rings,alongs with no gravity,

behind Earth

Under the stars

A guide to find The Alex

By Me

Through the blue river

Over the dark woods

To grandpa’s old house

In the smelly bathroom

Under the filthy toilet

Under the deep aquifer

In the rocky crust

Through the rocky crust

Into the huge ocean

Through the huge ocean

Into the little gulf

During the hurricane season

Into the calm eye

Onto the sandy atoll

Under the palm tree

Into the shabbily built shack

Around the shack walls

Beneath the palm stool

Into the trap door

Despite the red and blue crabs

Despite the coral snakes

Despite the deadly spiders

Despite the licking flames

Despite the razor sharp spikes

Despite the stinging insects

Despite the flying knives

Despite the Barbie dolls

Into the dark cavern

Through the dark cavern

Into the chamber

To … The Alex

Past all the people
Beneath the blue sky
Among the trees
Under the canopy
Across the river
Over the rainbow
Down the hill
Durring the storm
By the rocky stream
Beside the lake
Around the ditch
Across the road
Inside the door
To grandmothers house we go

This is my prepositional poem. Enjoy!

“Rock Climbing"

 Below the finish,

With the long rope,

Up the wall,

Above, far above, the ground,

Past the start,

To the next hold,

Like a monkey, an agile monkey,

 With the green vines,

Toward the far away end,

Toward the great victory,

Beyond the terrible fear,

Beyond the immense doubt,

To the cheer,

To the joy,

Beneath you.

Beyond the moat
Across the majestic river

Over the golden floor
Beneath the scary dungeon
Near the kings thrown
Down the tower
From the royal parents
To the lucky daughter
On the princess's head

Beyond the deep, dark green forest,

Past the busy streets,

Over the snow-capped mountains,

Near the deep blue pond,

About their business,

Without much luck,

During the ninth inning,

Despite the points,

Toward the dusty plate,

Under great pressure,

Until the hit ball,

Across the high, metal fence,

Up the desperately low score,

Down the risky outs,

For a great game.

Among the algae and seaweed
Around the rocks and ruffles
Behind big ocean mammals
Below the reflective horizon
Beyond your wildest dreams
Despite the hungry humans
Inside water as clear as air
Over the deep dark tunnels
Under cities and air
Inside plants animals and grime
At all times of day
With scales and tails
With gills and skills
With peace

About the Room
Around the room, among the room
Through the chairs, under the desks
Up the wall, to the high white ceiling
Past Spencer and Spencer
Into the window, by the squirrely children
Towards the thick doors, of wood
Over the black thin laptop
With a willing fun teacher
Across the dull rug
Below the fluffy white clouds
Across the long hallways, from door to wall
Near the math room, inside M.R.M.S.
With friends of friends
Behind the colorful posters
Of poems and poems
On the plain wall
About this room, of rooms

In the kitchen, above the messy den
During lunch
Into the bright red tomato soup like little bullets
Between he chair, in sister’s knotted hair
Past the soiled hall, out the colorful, artistic stained-glass door
On mother’s angry face
Into her smoky ears
Like a force, beneath the ground
Past the mashed potato walls, into the kitchen
To the suspicious, terrified kids
“To you rooms!”

This is my poem:
"The Worm"
About half an inch
inside the apple
through the swaying red bridge
above the rolling green hills
across the ocean
against the breeze on a new years eve
around the trunk
without the apple no worm
inside the apple
about half an inch

That is my poem don't ask me where I got the idea from but I just felt like doing a poem about a worm in an apple.

Here's my prep poem. How do you like it? Please give me feedback:
The Bright, Red Shoes
In the store,
through the plastic bag,
beside the fat, grey door,
out of the tall, glass building,
through the trunk of the car,
on someone’s dirty feet,
with some tan-colored socks,
in a puddle of mushy, brown, mud,
from the feet,
to a trash bag,
within a garbage can,
in the garbage truck,
next to piece of trash,
beyond the hot, burning fire,
toward the incinerator,
in the flames of the fire,
into another life.

Near the brownish colored door

Within the yellowish box

Over your round head

In my big, black, pink shoe

Except in the big fat reading book

Within the thin wall

For all of us

Near our teenage years

Around the small room

Above the white smart board

With dancing tentacles
Through the clear blue water

Inside Preciouses jewels

Toward the clear blue sky
Past the coral reef
Above the waters rim

The Box

By: Blake Storry

In the big yellow box without any interior protection

Around the curved corner

Atop the blue-stained shelf under the glow-in-the-dark ceiling

Near the big brown ball inside the long hall

Over the past six years except last month until this very day

Beyond the river despite the mosquitoes

With a strawberry

Upon a time since the year 2003.

On February 6th

Toward the time of noon

Without any competition

In homes

Around the nation and other places

Despite unpopularity

From every person’s television set

Inside every warming home

Among the many traditions

Near this time of year

Across all the stations

Over the time

Of three elongated hours

Within, a joyous show

Like that

From above

Atop the priority lists

Simeon -- Gavin Poem

Article posted February 16, 2012 at 11:53 PM GMT • comment (2) • Reads 839

Gavin

In his dark lair
Under his stairs
In his chair
While he would stare
At his shortened hair

For he would cry
To the sky

Over the river
Through the woods
Went he, to his dog’s grave

Inside him went a warm glow
Of kindness
Of niceness
Within him after it melted the snow

Well, that is my poem. I hope that all words in it are a preposition. It is titled Gavin for that person sits by me in class. For those of you who know Gavin personally, this should be hilarious. To those of you who do not know Gavin, this should be very confusing.

The Ball Bounced

In the bug blue house

Off the square table

Over cool awesome tall Olivia

Through the huge candy-filled candy-made door

On the tarred black street

Down the hot lond road

Across the trustful neighbors yard

Aboard a boat

Across the wet smelly deck

Into the vast harbor

Across the Pacific sea

By the country Japan

Into crowded China

Through the restarunt shop

Without it's tall boy-like master

In the big blue house

to breath underwater
to survive as a fish
