I am so happy school is over. I can finally live my life. Most of the time school wasnt that bad, but of course you have those bad days. What went smoothly for me this year was definitely homework. I never once had to go to htc. Academically I learned a whole bunch this year. I probably learned the most in math. In eight grade I want to participate more in class. For you upcoming seventh graders make sure you ask questions if you don't understand something.

Guiding question: Why were the egyptain pyramids built.
At first I thought they were just made to protect the pharaoh, but the were much more than that. First of all, they were made to help please the sun god. Also, they hold the queens chamber inside, but nobody really knows if she's in there because it's so sealed off from the public.

Ashlee did her project on Athena. I learned a whole bunch from her project. Athena is the god of intelligence. She was born from Zues' head, so she got all of his brain.

International towne

Article posted May 11, 2012 at 02:53 AM GMT • comment • Reads 546

I had a great time at international towne. Everything there was really fun. I learned lots of stuff about other cultures, but the biggest thing I learned was how to exchange money. At first, it was really difficult, but eventually I got the hang of it. One thing I would change is the size. It is just so small and compact. I felt like I could barely move. My favorite part was definitely the slushies. They were so good and refreshing. Overall, I had a great time.

I wish

So my favorite food is a burger, so I dedicated this poem to my taste buds.
I WISH
I wish I was a delicious burger
Full of lettuce, tomato, and pickles
Topped off with crispy angus bacon
Dripping with wonderful juices.

practice makes perfect

Article posted March 12, 2012 at 02:40 AM GMT • comment • Reads 752

One quote that is really inspiring to me is a quote about soccer by Mia Hamm.
She said:
Failure happens all the time. It happens every day in practice. What makes you better is how you react to it.

I try every day in practice to be prefect
But is all that stress really worth it.

I can’t be perfect all the time,
But why do I always worry?

I try so hard not to make a mistake
But how much more can my mind take

When I make a mistake I usually fall,
But now I’m going to stand tall and fix it.

Science and Cells

Article posted March 9, 2012 at 02:11 AM GMT • comment • Reads 544

In science we’ve been learning lots of things about cells. At the beginning of the unit I knew almost nothing about what the cell is, and what it looks like. Now I know a whole bunch. For example plants don’t have a cell wall, but animal plants do. Also, I know that viruses are non-living. One of the best parts is when we get to look at the cells in the microscope. It’s really cool to see them up close. My least favorite part is definitely taking notes. It’s just so boring sitting there writing forever. At first I thought I wasn’t going to like this unit, but it actually turned out to be really interesting.

Books

Article posted March 1, 2012 at 02:36 AM GMT • comment • Reads 614

Well I don't really ever read books on my free time, but in enrichment I started reading The Prisoner of Azkaban by J.K. Rowling. It's a pretty good book, but I'm only on page nineteen. I really like how the author doesn't take forever getting the story started, she just gets to the point. Otherwise I haven't read zany other books lately

Girls basketbal

So the girls basketball team ended up having a record of 7 and 1. We did pretty good, but it stinks that we lost to Challenger. We played really good that days, but the baskets just didn't go in. Well the girls had a really good season. Thanks Mr. Howard for being an awesome coach.

My favorite quote

Article posted February 1, 2012 at 12:53 AM GMT • comment • Reads 881

My favorite quote was definetly the one by Rooselvlet. What I think he's trying to say is when we believe you can do something than it will that much easier to achieve it. I really think this quote could change people attitudes. For example if they don't believe they can do something they can read the quote and believe. I think this quote could change the world because if everyone did what they dreamed everyone would be happy.

Happy New Year's everyone. This year I have made two main goals. The first goal is to suceed in sports this year. I really want to improve in soccer, and hopefully prove to my coach that I can play other positions. I also want to improve in math. Last year I really struggled with it, but this year I'm going to try my hardest to succed as much as possible.

Wiki Reflection

Article posted December 16, 2011 at 09:30 PM GMT • comment • Reads 1048

The poetry project was very challenging. The project went good for the most part, except for a couple of errors in communication. I was very hard working in a group over a computer. I definitely wouldn’t want to that again. Most of the communication in my group went well. The only problem we had with communication was with the photo story project. One thing that turned out really well was the wiki page. We all worked together and made a great page full of information. One thing I would have done differently is communicate better on the photo story, so that I wouldn’t have had to redo mine.

I am super excited for break to come up. There are so many things I want to do besides go to school and getting up early. One thing that I want to do during break is spend time with my family and friends. I don’t really get to do that all the time because I am so busy with sports and school. I also really want to bake cookies that one of my family’s traditions, and I am really excited for it this year. That is why I am

Mystery stories

Article posted November 30, 2011 at 02:20 AM GMT • comment • Reads 845

I really haven’t read a mystery before out of school, but in school I have really enjoyed the mystery unit. My favorite mini mystery that I have reads is "The Black Cat" by Edgar A. Poe. The reason I liked it so much is because it was kind of gross and you really didn’t know what was going to happen.
A mystery story I would like to write about is disappearances.

Books

Have you read any exciting books lately? I am reading the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling. Right now I’m on the third book. So far I have really enjoyed the series. One thing that I really like about it is that it’s fictional so you don’t have to learn all these facts. You can just enjoy it.

Giving Thanks

Article posted November 30, 2011 at 02:14 AM GMT • comment • Reads 1422

Lots of people don’t also think about how lucky we are for all of the privileges we have ,but when we think about it we have lots of things to be thankful for. One of the biggest things I’m thankful for is my family. I am, so thankful for my family because they are always there for me. Another thing I’m thankful for is my country. We the people are so lucky because we have freedoms, unlike other countries. The other thing I’m thankful for is stuff like my house, food, and pets. I am so thankful for these things because not everyone has these things, so I should be lucky I have them. Those are some examples of what I’m thankful for and why.

blogging

Article posted November 6, 2011 at 06:46 PM GMT • comment • Reads 1574

I don’t like blogging very much. First of all I don’t think you’re getting that much out of it when you use spell check to check your spelling, grammar, and punctuation. Also some people aren’t very good with typing on the computer so it takes them longer to do their blog. Blogging has gone smoothly but sometimes the internet might be down so it would be easier if we could write it on a piece of paper. I think that the blogging should just be an optional thing that not all students have to do. Those are ideas of what I think about blogging

Banned Books

Article posted October 3, 2011 at 12:30 AM GMT • comment • Reads 1860

I feel very happy about banned book week, because it shows how lucky we our to have all that freedom. Freedom of speech falls into this because we the people are allowed to write or read whatever, whenever, we want. This is something that an individual has to choose. I don't think books should be banned because everyone should be able to read whatever they want.

Field Trip

Article posted October 3, 2011 at 12:22 AM GMT • comment • Reads 1466

This field trip was awesome. We learned many things including how organisms survive, what organisms live off of , amd much more. The best part about the field trip was that it was outside. It was way more fun that way, because we were not just sitting in a classroom writing and reading. My favorite activity was the one with Mr. Howard. This was my favorite activity because we did fun things that interested me like using camouflage and playing hide-and-seek. In this field trip I had lots of fun learning about organisms and how they survive.
