The cell unit in science hasnt been my favorite... but I have learned quit a bit about them! If I had to choose my favorite lab we've done over this unit, I would have to say it was looking into the microscopes at real, living, MOVING cells! :D It really was a more realistic experience rather than just glancing at a picture someone else took. Onto the human body :)

Inside the school,

I havn't been reading any book lately. The most recent book that I've read is Wonderstruck by Brian Selznick, the same author that wrote my favorite book, Hugo Cabret. I really enjoyed both of these books. The author uses great hooks.

I have no idea what to talk about, so..... I guess I'll talk about penguins. They are pretty neat animals. They are black and white, very inteligent, and they live in Antarctica. They aren't like other birds because they don't fly. They do swim though and are very good at it. They spend 75% of their life under water. They feed off fish and their preditors are leopard seals, skua birds, and killer whales.

Every poet has their special effect that they use often. For example, Shel Silverstein uses rhymes and rythem. Sometimes poets create pictures with their poems to catch the readers eye. Others color coat their poems. There are many "tools" as we call them such as personification, onomonopia, alliteration, assonance, hyperboles, metaphors, similies, and many more.

"Beieve you can and you're half way there" -Theodore Roosevelt

 I think this statement means if you believe in yourself then you will get a whole lot further then not believing in yourself. :) I can apply this to my life because comparing first quarter to second quater I realized I do need to think about this more. In second quarter, every single one of my grades went down. I will try to use this quote to help me throughout the rest of this quarter and hopefully through the rest of my life. This can for sure make a positive change in someones attitude. It isn't hard to tell yourself every once in a while that you can do it. Like everyone says,"You can do anything if you just believe." This could be a whole lot better world if everyone took in this quote. :)

I have a few goals for 2012. One of them is to get good grades. To achieve this goal I must focus in class, do my homework, and turn it in on time. If I have a B, I'd like to get it up to an A. If I have a C, I'd like to get it up to at least a B. If I already have an A, maybe I can get some extra credit. :)

I think the wiki went really well! The comunication among our group really did help out with everything. We got along great! Maybe we could've planned a little better, but other than that everything went good. I don't think anything could've went better, for nexts years wiki. :D

 The Greece unit in Humanities has been really fun. Although I don't know too much about Greece, I do know that the Greeks believed in many different gods.

 In class, we all got assigned a city-state. In our groups, we compete for points by doing things like memorizing the Greek alphabet. We also come up with chants within our groups and a logo sort of thing to represent us. I am part of the city-state Argos. We chose this city-state because our group is well rounded.

I very much enjoy this time of year just remembering what I am truly thankful for.

     I am thankful for my family because without them I wouldn't have a roof over my head, I wouldn't have food sitting in front me every day, and I wouldn't have someone to care for all of my needs.

     I am thankful for my friends because without them I wouldn't have someone to share my thoughts and secrets with.

     Finally, I am thankful for all those veterans serving our country, my freedom, and my way of life.
