This year has been so much fun, but WOW, it sure went by fast. I have learned so much thanks to all of my wonderful teachers. I don't think I would want to change anything about how this year went except I would have to go back and turn in all of my work on time. That is also my goal for next year.
And some advice for our upcoming 7th graders, stay focused and good luck! ;)

International Towne was really fun! It was definiatly not what I expected. It was a bit smaller than I imagined it to be. I was an artisan in Mexico. One of the many things I learned was that exchanging money into different currencies takes a lot of time out of your day. I really think this trip should've been a bit longer especially for the amount of time we spent preparing. My favorite part of this whole experience was selling the sodas and slirpies in the huge, colorful sombreros.

My guiding question is:
"How has paper cutting affected Chinese culture?"
Well, paper cutting has affected Chinese culture in many ways and because of the people it was done by, when it was done, the technique used for the art, and where it showed up. I have learned so much from this experience and had a blast doing it. The most interesting part of this whole project was getting to learn everything about paper cutting that I did.
I also had a blat looking at everyone else’s project and hearing about what they learned. Some people had some really cool displays. Having the chance to walk around and see everyone’s project was great but gave me a harder choice. I couldn't pick my favorite one. So good job everybody!! :D

To be honest, I havn't yet finished Seedfolk, but I have read enough to know kinda what it's about. A community of varius racial backgrounds comes together to grow a beautiful garden. I don't really have a favorite or least favorite character quite yet. As I read more I'm sure that will vary. The activities we did the past couple of weeks relating to Seedfolks have been quite interesting and fun. My favorite was when we made flowers out of recycled soda cans in Mr. Howards room. They all turned out really neat. Well I hope to complete the book soon. :)

My project is on Chinese Paper Cutting. Everything came out really great. I did really well with getting all of my information together and on time. I do admit I should,ve started my display board and museum display a bit earlier than I did, but for when I started and the time I completed it all in, I think I did awesome.

Spring is one of my favorite seasons. The weather is perfect! Not too warm, not too cold. It's just right. It is the time of year when flowers begin to bloom. Trees regain their leaves and blossum beautiful flowers. The grass begins to green and the animals come out of hibernation. Spring is when you can go outside in the early morning to the birds chirping and enjoy the morning air. Spring is the time of rain. I love the rain. It is probably my favorite part of spring time. It moistens the the air and gives plants a chance to regain life.

Though I wasn't here the Friday we watched the movie, I think that the way these people were treated is awful. From the huge mobs to the tiny little comments that were said. I would for sure of fought back. Having to call the ARMY to get just nine kids to school, that's horrible. I wouldn't take the trouble. Things have changed a lot since then and I'm glad of that because it just hurts to hear about and watch what went on in those peoples' lives.

I enjoyed the disection of the ckicken wings. It was a little gross but the fact that we eat them made it a little less disturbing. I really don't think I learned much but it was an amazing experience getting to cut through the skin and muscle down to the bone and getting to see how the chicken moves it's arms. :D
