It's The End!!!

Article posted May 23, 2012 at 01:15 PM GMT • comment • Reads 970

WOW! This year really flew by. I remember it like it was yesterday when I started 7th grade. I think this year went very well. I made lots of new friends, and had lots fun! For me 7th grade was successful. I don't think there was much to be down about. I learned a lot of stuff academically, but most of all, to study really hard! I don't think I would change anything, I think this year went really well. There were defenetley some things I learned the hard way, like studying for all those big tests.

How To Survive 7th Grade...

To survive 7th grade you need really good friends to help you get through the year. Also study very very hard, even if you think you already know it. Very important, bring a pencil to every class! Last but not least, never forget your text book!

International Towne

Article posted May 11, 2012 at 11:16 PM GMT • comment • Reads 545

I really liked International Towne, it was really fun. In 5th grade I went to the same place except it was Young Ameritowne, then I couldn’t wait till 7th grade. I think it was a really fun and educational experience for us, so I am glad we had the opportunity to go. I learned a lot about other countries how they speak and what they sell. I also learned how to spend my money wisely. If I could change anything it would probably be the breaks. I think the breaks were really short and it didn’t give us enough time to go everywhere for a decent time. I think the best part was the free stuff, I think it was really fun to buy whatever you wanted and it was basically free!

Incredible World History Fair

Article posted May 7, 2012 at 04:13 PM GMT • comment • Reads 453

I was really impressed with the things people did too. I think the World History Fair influences our lives today because we learn a lot about things we didn't know about. My guiding question was, "How did the Romans live in the ancient times?" I learned that the Romans lived very differently in the ancient times then now. Romans wore either tunics or togas depending on who they were and they lived in small or spacious houses.

I was very impresses with the other 7th graders. Some people dressed up, and some people were really creative. I learned a lot just by looking at their 3D projects. I learned about Medusa and how she was beautiful at first, I also learned what the Egyptians and Romans wore. I think everybody did a great job.

Seed Folks Start

Article posted May 3, 2012 at 04:01 PM GMT • comment • Reads 488

I didn’t really like the book Seedfolks. I didn’t like the book because it was so short and because of the format. It really bugs me when authors make chapters when only one person is talking. I also didn’t really care for any of the characters in the book. I think the big idea of the book is the people that live in the neighborhood coming together to plant in the garden, I think it also teaches us students to work together and see an example of people who didn't know eachother but then were great friends.. I think the activities we did in classes were really fun. In science, we planted tomatoe plants, I think that will help us with team work. In french class, we made colorful spirals, math we made flowers, and language arts we painted rocks. My favorite activity was painting the rocks because I made my own little pet rock.

World History and Me

My World History Project is going very well. My guiding question is "How did the Romans live in ancient times?" My topic hasn't changed that much but I did learn a lot of interesting facts about ancient Rome. For my project I am making a 3D part of ancient Rome. It is very fun. I baisically have all my research put together and my poster board so I really can't wait till the World History fair

I love Spring! Spring is probably my favorite season of the year. I like spring because its not too hot or too cold.It also rains in Spring!!! Most people say that they think that when it rains they feel glomy, well they have obviously never danced in the rain! I love it when it rains the sound of the "pitter patter" against the roof. I love the smell after it rains its so refreshing, and its even better when there is a rainbow after!

Chicken Wing Dissection

Article posted April 6, 2012 at 05:06 PM GMT • comment • Reads 574

I actually do not think that the chicken wing dissection was that fun. I personally do not like seeing blood, raw meat, or anything like that. I ended up touching the chicken wing, ONCE, then I decided that I would write instead of dissecting the chicken wing. I really am not excited for the frog dissection. I learned that one of the tendons controls the muscle so when you pull it, the arm moves, eeek!

Ernest Green Story

Article posted March 21, 2012 at 12:16 AM GMT • comment • Reads 474

After I saw this movie I was really shocked. I was disappointed that all those people stood in the crowd and did what everybody else was doing. The students didn't even think for a second hey what if I was Ernest Green. No, all the students did was make everything worse. There were some people in the movie that stood up for Ernest Green and his friends, I was really proud of those people. I don't think I could have done what Ernest Green and his friends did, I am a very sensative person, so taking all those comments would probably bring me down. Today things have changed very much. Everybody excepts eachother no matter what race. Some people still discriminate certain people like who's wearing the latest trends or who's the smartest, but we can work on that.

Quotes and Poetry

"Content makes poor men rich; discontentment makes rich men poor."
By Benjamin Franklin.

Money doesn't matter
Happiness is the key
We make happiness
You can't buy happiness
You can't sell happiness
Money can't buy happiness
Poor people have happiness because they make it
Rich people don't have happiness because they are too busy trying to shop for it.

Cells

Article posted February 23, 2012 at 01:16 AM GMT • comment • Reads 760

In science we are studying different types of cells. I think it is sometimes fun and sometimes disturbing. I liked looking at different cells in our cells lab. I was enjoying drawing pictures untill I saw one move. I freaked out! Even though that wasn't a very pleasant experience, I really like making the help wanted cells poster.

Through The Woods

Article posted February 23, 2012 at 01:13 AM GMT • comment • Reads 877

Across the very quiet meadow
Below the squeaky wooden bridge
Around the dark and cold bear cave
Past the loud flowing river
Down the rocky path
Behind the tall trees
Through the thorny rose bushes
Around the corner
Between the rocks
Up the steep hill
Over the rainbow
Down the steep hill
Toward the flowing lake
Behind the waterfall
Into the green woods

Take your pick

Article posted January 21, 2012 at 02:34 AM GMT • comment • Reads 720

I picked "Believe you can and you're half way there" by Theodore Roosevelt. I think this means that believing in yourself is a part of trying because if you don't believe you won't get anywhere. I can apply this to my own life because there are always chances where I need to beelive in myself. I think this can make a positive change in someone's life because they will have better luck at trying. This can make an impact on the world because if people want to achieve things they need to believe in themselfs.

2012 Goals

Article posted January 10, 2012 at 10:43 PM GMT • comment • Reads 857

My 2012 goals for this year are mostly short term goals. I want to keep up my good grades of course, so that means no missing assignment or late assignments. I also want to maybe join a sport or activity, I'm thinking of joing Grizzly Challenge in spring and maybe other groups. I also want to make more new friends, I have a lot of amazeing friends but enough is never enough. My last goal is something I try to do every year, changing something about myself, not something huge but just a little detail, it could be anything, new year, new me.

Wiki Reflection

I really liked doing this project, it was kind of fun. I think my partners and I did really well on communicating. It was kind of hard having partners you couldn't communicate next to you, esspecially from other states. I also think it was interessting to get to know a person from out of state. Our project on Ralph Waldo Emerson turned out really good.

Greece

Article posted December 9, 2011 at 11:46 PM GMT • comment • Reads 1232

My city in Greece is Argos. My group picked Argos because it represents everybody. For many years Argos struggled with Sparta and was rivals with Athens and Corinth. Argos lost it's power because Sparta defeated them. Argos produced many sculpteres in the 5th century. Argos is on the side of an ancient city.

I really like doing this Greece city thing. It's really fun to act all serious and see who gets the most points. Mrs. Gagnon really takes this seriously so she can be a bit scary somtimes but I can't help but laugh sometimes.

Mystery

Article posted November 10, 2011 at 11:29 PM GMT • comment • Reads 1686

My favorite mystery story would probably be, "The Final Call". This story is actually kind of short, and this is one of our scary stories from the mystery unit. Well, this story is more of a scary story than a mystery but it brings questions. Any way, I like this story because the author really made me wonder of who was calling, and the best part was at the end, sad, but still one of those shocking moments. Now for my mystery story...

It was late, dark and late. Midnight to be exact. Should I do it, will anyone suspect it was me? I have to, I have to do it, she thought to herself. She grabbed the rope and the room key. She was going to do it. Annie Jones was going to be killed tonight, no matter how much I loved her. She walked to the door, slowly unlocked it, and there she lay, Annie Jones asleep on her bed. She tiptoed across the room and pulled a chair to the rim of a wardrobe. She grabbed some rope and tied Annie up, making sure it was impossible to escape. Suddenly, Annie woke up. "Huh, whats going on?", said Annie
"Shhh! just don't say a word, this is for your own good!", She siad.
"Wait! No! Stop!" Annie siad. Annie ran across the room. She chased her, Annie ran into the mirror, smashing it into pieces, and cutting herself. Annie grabbed one of the pieces and cut her. "Ouch!, you bad bad girl, you shouldn't have done that!" She grabbed Annie and cut her back. Annie tried to slip away but it was to late, she had already hung Annie, making it look like sucide. It was the end for Annie that night, and as for her, she would continue her regular life, loving the rest of her children.

Hope you like! Its kind of random though, just from the back of my mind.

So no I do not think pencil and paper is a good idea! I also think we should right about our experiences on vacations, or what we did on the weekend or, food!

Always remember

Article posted October 24, 2011 at 11:50 PM GMT • comment • Reads 1436

Why is it important to always remember? It is important to always remember because you should save your memories. Saving your memories doesn’t mean saving old toys from your childhood, or having to take pictures. Saving your memories means remembering those important times. Times like when you made your first friend or had your first birthday party.
This is only my first paragraph so I would like to know, what do you think? Should I add more detail?

My article is about Hispanic Heritage Month. Students are investigating how hispanic kids have contributed to the U.S. Some of the counties are; Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua. Mexico and Chile also celebrate Independence Day. Students will also ask questions about, culture, holidays, traditions, percentage of people, etc. I really am glad that there is a Hispanic Heritage Month, since I am hispanic. You guys also might want to check out the website and look at the questions, ask me!

My Dog Bindi

Article posted October 8, 2011 at 12:30 AM GMT • comment • Reads 1505

My dog Bindi is a very crazy and excited dog. My family rescued her from a rescue shelter so we are not sure what breed she is. My dad thinks that thinks that Bindi is a Boxer mixed with another breed; she also looks like a Dingo. Bindi is a light colored brown, basically tannish; she has a small white spot on her back and white on her face. Bindi is such a funny dog she makes me laugh every day.

Banned Books Week

Article posted September 28, 2011 at 11:10 PM GMT • comment • Reads 1820

I think banning books is wrong because I absolutely love reading books! People should not ban any books in the classroom because, people like different types of books and well maybe they don’t like one type of genre so they won't like the other categories. Reading isn't my favorite thing to do but, they should definitely not ban any books.

Math Problem

Article posted September 22, 2011 at 11:36 PM GMT • comment • Reads 1794

In both videos they did it wrong because they added and multiplied and divided wrong. Also I am pretty sure this works with other numbers to. This method also works with fourty-eight and twelve. If you add twelve four times you get fourty-eight, if you multiply fourty-eight times four you first have to multiply eight times four, which equals thirty-two. Then you have to bring the thirty-two down and multiply four and four, which equals sixteen, you add it together and you get fourty-eight! Although this is still wrong, you have to instead of bringing the thirty-two down bring the three up and then proceed then add it all up.

Funniest Thing!

Article posted September 14, 2011 at 04:29 PM GMT • comment • Reads 1450

The funniest thing that ever happened to me was when I was at a store with my brothers and my mom. My mom was shopping for food to make dinner and my brothers at the electonics testing games, I was looking at toys, I was only like eight years old. Well anyways I grabbed a barbie and I was going to tell my mom about it and convince her to buy it for me, I was yelling mom! And realized I was lost. I started skipping and I looked down at the tile floors while doing so, I saw my mom, well so I thought, I saw a lady with my mom’s shirt on, so I started playing with the hem of the shirt, and suddenly a blond lady starts laughing in my face! I was so scared, I almost started crying. After I realized that crazy lady wasn’t my mom, my brother came and got me and said it was time to go. Now that I am older, I laugh about this all the time.

Rachel's Challenge

Article posted September 8, 2011 at 10:29 PM GMT • comment (2) • Reads 1784

I think the Rachel’s Challenge assembly was emotional, necessary and, worth time. I think this because we got to see all the people who were affected by Rachel’s death and other people who were killed. I got a bit more emotional in this assembly because when we raised our hands I really regret saying something about that person’s shirt or someone saying something about me. I definitely was changed by this assembly, next time I try to say something about that person’s shirt, I will think before saying anything and bite my tongue. Next time, I will step in to that person’s shoes, just like Rachel would.
