SUMMER BREAK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! yay :D

Article posted May 15, 2012 at 11:04 PM GMT • comment • Reads 776

7th grade was really fun, I have so many memories. One of my Favorite memories is International Towne, I was a Finance Minister in Ghana, and I loved haning out with freinds, wandering around the "world" and buying things. 7th grade was pretty fun, but, I think we got a bit too much homework this year. Even so, 7th grade has been pretty fun. One of my successes in 7th grade was getting honor roll 1st semester. One failure (I guess that's a little harsh) was probrobly going, mny times, too the wrong period class, like science, my G1 class on purple days, lunch early (that was really embarrasing), ect. Academically I learned more skills in most of my classes and got alot better at spanish. Personally I learned ways to stay more focused, (I have been struggling with a VERY short attention span.). I would change, most likely, is having more feild trips. I don't hav a reat memory, but, I think we only had International Towne, (I may be wrong). in 8th rade i want school to start later, I hear Eagleveiw is starting later next year, I want to sleep in too :D. Something I learned the hard way is too keep your planner up to date, i've forgoten somehomework and stayed for HCC a couple times. My advice for  nwxt year's 7th graders is to keep on top of your homework. Anyways guys, have a great summer break guys!

I'm not ready yet, but am working my hardest to get there. My Humanities project is about a typr of gladiator called the Retiarus, (Translates to fish man in English), he fought with a Trident and a Net, and had very little armor. Can't wait for the Humanites World History Fair.

A good idea

Article posted April 12, 2012 at 10:02 PM GMT • comment • Reads 542

I was just thinking the other day, that it would be really cool if we could bend and shape things, and get rif of things by will. Like lets say you cant see the TV, just move your hands in a certain way, and *BOOM* its big. Just saying, that would be cool. Also, if you could change thing's appearance, like change your food green or orange, or yellow with rainbow polka-dots.... just saying... boredom leads me to cool ideas.... tht would be so cool though.

Chicken...

Article posted April 2, 2012 at 10:11 PM GMT • comment • Reads 655

We dissected chicken wings to learn about some kinds of muscle.  I thought it wasn't too bad, but, it smelled like rotten eggs.  I did learn what some kinds of muscle and some other tissues looked like.  Also, I would prefer next time, to dissect something bigger.

Little Rock Nine

Article posted March 14, 2012 at 11:33 PM GMT • comment • Reads 490

My reaction to the movie was a bit angry. They had to call in the ARMY just to get 9 kids to school!

It's crazy! I would have, if I went with the Little Rock Nine, stayed in school as long as possible to prove many Americans wrong.  I (probrobly)  would have had the courage to continue through high school as one of the Little Rock Nine. Today, discrimination has changed, as all of America is equal, but, there is still discrimination. Not necessarilly by color, but, by religion, ethnicity, etc.

Imagination and knowledge

Article posted March 1, 2012 at 12:24 AM GMT • comment • Reads 586

"Imagination is more important than knowledge."

~Albert Einstein

With knowledge, you can create.

but only the bare minimum.

with imagination,

one can truly create.

With imagination, anything is possible,

as long as you can imagine, everything in the universe is within your grasp

with knowledge, you can know

but with imagination, you can bring new creations unto hummanity.

"Compassion and tolerance are not a sign of weakness, but a sign of strength." ~Dalai Lama

I believe the Dalai Lama is saying that if you are compassionate and are tolerable of others, that you will strengthen a bond between you and others, and that you will have more friends. I could apply this to my own life make more friends, and to have more close friends. This could be used to make positive changes in ones attitude because if you are generally compassionate, and tolerate others, you will get along well and not get into fights, and doing this will lighten another's mood. If everyone in the world was like this, there would be little war and fighting, and I believe that everyone would get along very well.

2012 goals...

Article posted January 13, 2012 at 03:16 AM GMT • comment • Reads 409

My goals for 2012 are: to make/design a videogame, and to be able to run a mile in 6 minutes or less. These goals inolve change by: making me fitter and faster, and I might be able, once designed/made my videogame, sell it, or just give copies to freinds. I think it would be awsome to accomplish both my goals.

Wiki

Article posted December 16, 2011 at 03:52 PM GMT • comment • Reads 1061

My Wiki went well, but, there were difficulties. I think we were given too little time to complete the wiki and I barely scraped by. I like my teammates and noticed we work well together. Our communicatio was okay, but, I could approve on my part of it. We did a very good job in organising the Wiki. I would have installed a spellcheck on it next time, when I checked spelling maually, there were more mistakes than  would have thought. To improve for next year, I recommend having more time, and spellcheck in the wiki editor.

A great book

Article posted November 1, 2011 at 03:42 PM GMT • comment (4) • Reads 1548

The Hunger Games is my #1 Favorite book series as of yesterday! The Hunger Games book series is written by: Suzanne Collins. The best book in this series is the very first book: The Hunger Games. This book takes place in the possibly not-so distant future. The main character is Katniss Everdeen. In this book there are many problems in the world, and in lonley district 12 there are many food shortages and many deaths by starvation. There is an oppourtunity for fame and for food in amounts beyond imagination, the Hunger Games. After a war long ago when district 13 started a rebellion against the Capitol, the Capitol Nuclear striked District 13, and destroyed all that as left of that district. Now, every year, the Capitol has all 12 remaining districts send tribute to them on the day of the Reeping. The tribute payed from each district is 2 children between the ages of 12 and 18 to enter in a fight to the death in the Hunger Games. The winner of the hunger games will return to their district with more food and riches than you could think of. The odds of that happening: 1 in 24. Not very good odds as Katniss is chosen into the arena.

Always remember

Article posted October 24, 2011 at 11:42 PM GMT • comment • Reads 1535

I need some feedback on this paragraph, it's my worst one. Thanks!

Another reason to remember soilders is ciizenship. This involves citzenship because for us to be able to remain a citzen of the united states of america, some of us need to give our services to the U.S. military. without that sacrafice those people made, we would not live as good as a life as we do now, we would live unprotected .

Story

Article posted October 3, 2011 at 11:52 PM GMT • comment • Reads 544

For this blog, I am going to write a short story. It is about a WWII nazi work camp.
I woke with a start, there was a banging on the door of my apartment. I jumped up out of bed and ran to the door, "Open this door, or I'll knok it down!", yelled an Wafen SS agent. Samuel looked around the room, he knew it was the last time he would do so. Then he opened the door. "We have suspicions that you are Jewish, come with us." yelled one of the three agents. They could not know, he had to leave! One of the SS agents searched Sam's pockets, "What's this?" he tsaid, "ooh our suspicions are confirmed Kaptain Schubert. He is a Jew, take him to Archwitz!" They exited the building and headed for a train staition. "Sam! No! Don't take him please!" Samuel looked over, Mom! she was between two other SS agents. "Mom!" Sam shouted. They and many others were loaded onto a train and taken away to a nazi death camp. The cars were crowded and hot, 0you could not move without bumping another person, in this car alone there must have been 100 people. How cruel, thought Sam, we are being treated like hogs for slaughter, we need to escape! helooked around, the onlt opening wa a small window in the back, through which he could see a German soilder and another car in tow. No way out, he thought, I wonder if I'll live.
An hour or so laterthe train stopped and the door opened. everyone walked out and he could see other people with red triangles on their shirt walking towards the trains. as he left that area, he saw several SS gaurds directing them up to an entry. At the entry a Warden yelled for women and children in one line, men in the other. Samal stepped into the men line and was given a red triangle on his shirt by an officer and then they were walked to a vast courtyard where there were many dorm houses. they were directed to one and told to stay there till morning.
Sam met another prisoner and asked if there was a way out of Archwitz. the man laughed and said, "Sure, if you are smart enough." They got to planning an escape roue and agreed on a time and way to escape. On his first day, Samuel was walked out to the courtyard with many other prisoners and told to dig a pit, it was hard work, they were digging by hand in the heat and sun with little water, some died of heat in the first few hours. those who surVIved were led to the train staition. Just what Samuel had planed. then he herd, "Sam, you lived!" Sam looked up and saw the man he ploted to escape with, an American named Jack. " Well so far I'm alive". "Everyone listen up!" An SS agent yelled," When this next train comes, walk up and collect the bodies of those who died on the train!" after an hour of waiting sam herd the train's bell ring and started to walk up to the platform. A sleek black train came to a stop with a lurch and passengers poured out.
Samuel and jack were assigned to the same car and they hauled the bodies away for the first 5 trips then went back and hid amongst yhe trash and crates that were in the car. A few minutes later a guard came and kicked around the boxes, but, by some miracle, did not find them. The train started moving and Sam knew he was on his way home.
NOTE:
there are some german words in my story that apear to be spelled wrong but they are not.
Kaptain= the german rank equal to captain
Archwitz= The biggest Nazi work camp in germany during WWII
Many jews died in these camps, but none would come out as easy as Samuel and Jack did. most would die.

BOOK BAN GRR!!!!

Article posted September 27, 2011 at 11:30 PM GMT • comment • Reads 1356

Psrsonally, I think no book should be banned, every book has something to share, good or bad.
This has much to do wth freedom of speech because a book is your thoughts, your ideas, written down in text. We all have the choice to choose what to read, If you do not like a book, don't read it but there a re people there that will enjoy it. Books should NOT BE BANNED!!! Every American has the right to read anything the choose.

Article posted September 19, 2011 at 11:35 PM GMT • comment • Reads 1356

Funny video! Okay so 7*4 is 28 because

7
7
7
+7
28
and
7*2=14*2+28
and
28/7=4
That guy really went to a bad school Lol!!!
He got it wrong because multiplication is adding up a number a certain amount of times, and he put the 10 place's numbers in the 1 place.
Im glad im smarter than that!

Rachels Challenge

Article posted September 7, 2011 at 05:46 PM GMT • comment • Reads 1308

I think this year, they could have made the Rachel's Challenge assembly less depressing. ther than that though, they did a great job presenting it. I personaly disagree with the idea that Rachel was phykic and could predict her death. I think she could tell she was dying at an accelerated rate. To make the assembly better I think that they could give a little more info on the shooting, as none of us were old enough to understand then, and then advertise the Rachel's Challenge program in the last 15-30 minutes not drag it out through the entire assembly.
