This year was good. 7th grade went by fast and smoothly. I think I was most successful in science. I maintained an A in science every quarter so far. I think that the thing I struggled with the most was blogging. I learned a lot this year but probably the most important thing I learned was the shortcuts for high light all, copy, paste, and print. I would prefer to be back at the school in Menwith Hill just because it is a smaller school. In 8th grade I would like to dissect a sheep brain and to future 7th graders my advice to you is to do your blogs.

I thought the experience was good. I think it taught us to be inter dependent. I learned from that demonstration that you rely on other people for things like in Singapore they were short of Mid Afri notes and Egypt lent us a lot. If I were leading I-Town I would allow for people to set their price to use the radio, bank, shipping, etc. I think that the best part was when I had to file and organize a lot of money and paper work.

My subject influences our lives because today it is used as a symbol or decoration on buildings or in logos it is also used as a structural support by adding metal. My guiding question was "What is the signigficance of the Greek column?" The answer to my question was that in the past it was used for structural support but now it is mainly used for decoration unless modified. I learned the origin of each column ,the amount of flutes and what it was used for in ancient times.
When it was our turn to look around I learned that ninjas used silent weapons like throwing stars to take out enemies silently and from a distance. I also learned that the aquaduct is a very efficient way to deliver water from one place to another. In conclusion I learned a lot from other peoples display boards and from them telling us facts about their topic.

I think that the main idea of Seed Folks is that a community bonds together and conquers discrimination. My favorite character was Ana. I liked Ana because she watches everything outside of her window. I disliked Virgil's dad because he tried to get rich off of baby lettuce. I enjoyed the activities in science and in language arts. In science we are planting tomato seeds in cups and trying to make them grow. I planted four seeds in water beads. In language arts we painted rocks. I painted mine black white and purple. I liked the activities because they were simple and we didn't have to follow complex instructions.

My guiding question is "What was the significance of the Greek Column?" My topic created change because during the time it was the sturdiest support structure. Without the column most old buildings would not be around today and there would not be big buildings and architecture wouldn’t have a skeleton. It would be materials piled up with a wooden support beam in every room. I found out a lot of interesting facts, but my favorite was that the start of columns used to be cut down trees that were de-branched. My final project is coming along okay. It will help me by displaying the information under four main topics. My project will help answer what the significance of the Greek Column by describing Doric, Ionic and Corinthian columns.

I wish
I was in England
Just one step closer
To Menwith Hill
Where I could see my friends
I wish
I was in Ripley
Right on the door step of Mill Garden
Just footsteps away from the bakery and home
Where I would walk down the trail without a care
I wish
I was in Knaresborough
Right next to the Nippy Chippy
I would get my food and go
Back to Ripley with my dad and dog

We did the chicken wing lab to show us how the muscular system works. I didn’t really like the disection of the chicken wing. I would have preferred to do it by myself and with a better tutorial because my group was lost. I think we also should had more time to do it because we barely got the skin off and see the muscular system. I also didn’t learn much from the lab because half of the time my group was goofing off so to me it was kind of a waste of resources. However, I did know a little because of the notes on the muscular system from class.

We are like trees
We must bear fruit of Christ
And resist the hatchet of sin
It will temp us in the ways
But you must spread the root
And become rooted in holy ground
You must not fall a stray
And become the home of termites
You must stay strong in the rock
And not falter in the ways
Of the lord

I kind of have a sickened feeling about the videos because you realize that their is racism
in the world and not long ago blacks were not treated as they should have been. I don't think I would have the courage to be one of the little rock nine and probably would have given up. Things have changed a lot today because African Americans go to our school and are respected as equals. However some things like discrimination about sex, skin and clothing still goes on.

"Education is the best provision for the journey to old age."
Aristotle
I like this quote because it says that knowledge is the greatest treasure that nobody can take from you. It also says that wisdom is the greatest strenghth which it is.

In science I learned about eukaryotes and prokaryotes. Eukaryotes have a nucleus and prokayotes don't. I also learned that viruses are a lot like parasites. My favorite lab was the one about photosynthesis. I enjoyed it because of the color changes and it was unpredictable.

outside the rusty barred metal window
with the cold frosty bone chilling breeze
over the salty overlapping waves
on the soft sweet smelling grass
within the fluffy snow white ever changing clouds
above the soaring white birds
beneath the crystal sparkling surface
with the sparkling scales
of the speedy fretful fish
across the sparkling light
to th bright gleeming flashing lights
above the musical lights
in the chaos black night
outside the gleaming stars
on the piece of tasty cheese
withing the cell
around me

The book I have just finished reading is I am Number Four by Pittacus, Lore. The book is about a loric who's name is John Smith being hunted down by aliens. I loved the book but thought that the author went to long for every moment in a fight scene.

I don't like how people say Frodo is the hero in Lord of the Rings. The reason I don't like it is because Frrodo wanted to keep the ring and if Smeagol/Gollum didn't bite of Frodo's finger the ring would still exist and the men elves and dwarves would become slaves.

I didn’t like working in a group. I felt like we were not that coordinated and did not communicate that well. For example we decided on a poem when there was a week left and ran into some technical errors with the computer. If I could change something I would do the movie and pictures. We failed at getting and citing pictures despite the fact we posted messages to do that two weeks before the end.

I don't know that much about Greece. I know a lot of basic things like acropolises, mythology and polises. Other than that I don't know much.
In Humanities we are doing a simulation. We choses from five different polises and won points for our polis. So far we have just made up logos and chants.

I think that we could make buildings safer by making an interlocking system where every building is connected to the others. I think it would be safer because it would add supportto the buildings connected with it. I got this idea from Ian. His original idea was to make buildings the same level and allow cars and pedestrians to walk on the roofs to get to their destination.

The best mytery story that I have read was The "Speckled Band" by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. I think it is the best because I don't read that many mystery books except when we did the 8 short stories. The "Speckled Band" stood out to me because first it was one of the must reads and second I liked how sherlock manipulated the snake.
If I were to write an intro to a mystery story the story would begin with a guy being murded in the pool table area of the Ripley Star Club. I would then have it be found by the bar tender when he was closing up the shop. He would call the police wich would follow clues and try to find the murderer. In the end I would have them die Grisly deaths.

I think blogging is like a poster I saw the poster read "Never before have so many people with so little to say said so much to so few." I think the poster has a point because how many people bother to look at blogs. It is like reading something to someone who is drawing nobody listens. I think we should blog about things of our own choice I mean nobody bothers to truly read it so at least let blogging be fun. That is my opinion. PS If you liked the quote go to this website. http://www.despair.com/viewall.html

We all know that Veterans Day is coming up so we will remember those that fought for our freedom. We must reember the wars, those that served and the volunteers. Yet events like Nine Eleven and the war that followed might be tragic but they bond us together as a country.
That is my intro paragraph. What do you think I should change about my intro and topics?

On Wednesday the 19 of October 2011 Terry Thomson released 56 animals including lions, tigers, bears and monkeys just three weeks after getting out of jail. After the animals were released he committed suicide. After the police hunted them down only six survived and a monkey is still on the loose. In my opinion would not have let there be that many wild animals be on the property of a guy who just got out of jail and has some guns and why did the government take away some of the animals.

The name of the book I am currently reading is The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. I like the hunger games a lot because it is about Katniss ending up in The Hunger Games along with 23 other people. The goal of the game is to survive and to assassinate your opponents .It is a really good book and is almost flawless in my opinion. My advice to you if you haven’t already to read it.

I like books because books are more informational and help you learn grammer plus they are better than movies because it has more detail and requires you to use your imagination. However I dislike movies because they usually leave out important information. Also because you don't get to read at all. Also movies motivate the one most important rule for movies read the book before watching the movie. All in all I like reading but dislike movies. What is your opinion?

I personally do not like the banning of books. Ihe reason I don't is because it is like a violation of the right to freedom of speech because the author is talking through his book. However in the governments defence you have to draw a line somwhere. The question of where the line is however is not up to us to decide we can still protest the banning of books.

I enjoyed the field trip except for the bus ride due to annoying singing.

I thought that the movie was funny. What the guy was doing wrong was he was not looking at it as ten's but he was looking at the tens place as ones. You could do this with seven and twenty you would get fourteen. You would go seven times zero is zero and seven times two equals fourteen. So what you do is you add fourteen plus zero and you get fourteen.

The weirdest moment in my life was probably when I was in Spain. We were on these islands inhabited by Barbarian Apes. I was walking along when an ape jumped on my head because a tourist guide was chasing the monkey off his car. Then the monkey in its flurry to escape jumped on my head and ran off.I didn’t like the experience because having something jump on as if you were a rock and didn’t have any regret about it really irritated me. However it really gave everyone a good laugh. Ever since I hate monkeys, I also dislike Moroccan vendors because they just pester you a lot.

I think the Rachel's Legacy presentation was good and I to was on the brink of crying but I don't think we really need that. The reason I think that is because the school doesn't seem like a bad place but a couple of things could change a little. I walked away from it sad and wanting to make difference. I thought the presentation was worthwile and a good experience for everyone. I don't think I will do everything different just change a little.
