7th Grade

I loved this year, it was the best overall year for me! My favorite part of 7th grade was the sports and academic teachers. I liked blogging this year but I wish we wrote about prompts not on what we did that week. This year I grew academically because my teachers pushed me and socially I found my group of friends. What I did the hard way was to socialize then try to cram in homework, NOT A GOOD IDEA! Advice for future 7th graders is to turn in your homework on time and study for tests and I'll guarantee that you'll at least get a "B". Also, try as many sports as you can and see which ones you like.

I enjoyed I-Towne but I was a little disappointed about how small and lack of material there was.(My brother ruined it for me, he told me everything before I went.) Wow who ever came up with that creative idea, thinks out side the box. I just think it needs to bee bigger! I learned a lot about how to manage your money and to get people to buy your products. I love hanging out with my friends and having a day off of school, great field trip!

I was very impressed with the poster boards and 3D displays! The (WHF) influenced my life by, if you take things step by step and plan ahead you will be successful in life. I found out a lot of new interesting facts of: gods, athletes, cultures and functions of old fashion thing! The most interesting thing was how much people knew about their subject, they could make a movie about it, that’s how much they knew! Great job 7th grade!
Guiding Question: How did Ancient Ghana get so rich and then taken over a 800 year period?

Seed Folks is a fun formatted book it has a different point of view of all the people in the garden. I think the big picture is that a lonely and helpless community all come together to make a garden and makes the town a better place. My favorite activity was making tin flowers in Mr. Howard’s because it was fun making colorful flowers out of recycled things! The character I like the most is the little boy that guilds his grandpa around town keeping him from trouble and taking him to the garden every day. He has to guild his grandpa because he was grown up on a farm and speaks a different language, so he is lost and confused, I'm blanking on the boys name. In short I like the book and I'm exited to read the rest!

The world history fair has been a slow process but I’ve found great info on my topic. The 3D part of the project will be the easiest and the descriptions and the coloring and decorations on the display board will be the hardest. My topic created change by increasing trade and showing that other countries can be friendly to each other. I'm excited to see how mine and other peoples display boards look!!

The dissection of the chicken wing was a weird experience because of how much stuff is in a wing and how they work. It was cool to feel the gooey stuff and ligaments of the wing. The dissection made me think of how amazing our bodies are and how they function. It was a humbling experience and I’m glad that we got to dissect a chicken wing and I wont forget it.

Ernest Green

The movie we watched was a wakeup call of how much we judge people, personalities, ect. I don’t know if I could do what Ernest Green did I would not go through all that and go to the other school. If the person was alone I would fight back but it would probably get me in more trouble. I think we as the U.S. have done better with the decimation of color but is doing worse with other things, like fat people. The movie was a great reminder that if you think you’re having a hard time, think about The Little Rock Nine!!

I love this quote: "I hate losing more than I like winning" By: Charles Barkley
This is inspirational because I'm an athlete
this is 100% true!!
it’s the worst feeling to loose
it’s a great feeling to win but it feels worse to lose!!
Also when it’s a team sport, you ask yourself what could I have done better to contribute
Another life lesson is if you’ve never lost you don’t know what it feels like to win and if you lose you work harder to win!!

Learning about cells

It has been interesting learning about cells and how little they are and even litterer stuff in the cell, to function. The best part of this experience is to know that if you take care of your body it will take care of you. The not so great parts are the notes and lectures, I no they will make you more prepared for the test but its boring. The labs are fun and I'm a person who is a visual and the labs really help me out.

At dawn
before light
for early wake
with rain, snow, and wind
as working as hard as you can
to be the best of the best
across the horizon
to have that sweet smell
of no one more dedicated than you
behind the scenes, for your team
for victory
beside adversity
among the mess
for the trust
to be on top and number one in the end!

The book I’m reading is The Last Olympian by: Rick Rordon it is the last book of the series and its going to be an exciting finish. Every time I read it it’s hard to set it down because you never know what’s coming next and always a great adventure. I’m half way through the book, I barley read. I only read to get my reading minutes in, so I’m slowly going to finish the book!

The Super Bowl is the most watched tv event every year because of how exiting football is. This year most people didn’t like the teams in the Super Bowl and the game was boring and the half time show was bad. The commercial are getting so expensive that only the big name companies can afford it, so they were not the best either. The people who set up the events of the Super Bowl did not do well this year!!

We haven’t really gone over Greece, but I know that it is an ancient place and they had a lot of god and goddesses they worshiped. Also, they started the Olympics and had legends like Hercules. Lastly, they have created a lot of mythology.
In class we are all different city-states by group. We are doing activities to earn points for our city-state and try to win as much as you can. The biggest thing is rolling the dice to learn your fait and beat your rival.

I'm not good at conclusions so help me!
It is very important for everybody to remember the moments that are life lessons and to lean from them. Even if they're bad still remember them but focus on good moments the most because life is too short to focus on the negative.

I like that there is banned book week but I think just because one person doesn’t like the book it shouldn’t be banned. If you want to ban it vote on it. I also think that only apropriate books should be in poblic libraries and the company bans the books there members want to me banned. I’m glad America lets us banned books.

The baker says 13 x 7=28. How the baker pulled off his way of math is adding the first numbers then adding the next, example: 13
.......................................13
.......................................13
.......................................13
.......................................13
.......................................13
.......................................13
.......................................__
.......................................28
With only a few set of numbers can do that.

My funniest/embarrassing time. When I was 7 my family and I went to Orlando, Florida. We just got to our hotel room and my brother and I love exploring the place. This time I wanted my mom to video tape me touring the place and I finally got to the porch and I didn’t see the glass door was closed so I was excited as I was to go outside and I'm running full speed and I get leveled by the door. WE got it on video and it was so funny that we mailed it to AFV {Americas Funniest Videos}. It unfortunately was not chosen. That will always be a memory for vacations!!!
